Sounds lovely Mrs! 😋

DS2 will go to bed at 8, DD will go at 8.30. 😴

FurForksSake · 18/09/2018 21:14

We had slow cooked steak with chinese stir-fry for dinner, it was yummy.

I've been so busy, bedrooms cleaned, dishwasher and washing machine white vinegared, two loads of laundry done and put away, ocado order done, toilets cleaned.

Mrsmadevans · 18/09/2018 21:35

Well done Fur you have been so busy , slow cooked steak with chinese stir-fry sounds delish! Xmas Grin

NerosFiddle · 18/09/2018 21:47

Evening all. Wind has really picked up here but I think the worst is to hit in the early hours.

FurForksSake · 18/09/2018 21:47

I had some frying steak and couldn't think what to do with it, I popped it in a pyrex with some honey/soy/sesame oil and five spice, added a little veg stock to stop it drying out and cooked it for two hours at 120. It was absolutely delicious!

FurForksSake · 18/09/2018 21:53

I'm hoping down here (home counties) we are just getting the wind and not the rain, I have a load on timer delay to hang out first thing... I really don't want to use the tumble yet!

Feeling like I am getting more organised for Christmas, my task for Thursday morning (when Gabe has preschool) is a freezer audit, I want to start emptying it ahead of Christmas baking and things.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2018 22:00

DH has just hung out washing out. It'll be windy enough to dry it overnight!

Congrats RedGreen I hope you're enjoying the new job.

MrsMad maybe there was something in the air last night down our way as I didn't sleep well either. Woke up startled at 2am after a horror movie type dream about being handcuffed to a bed and a man telling me he was going to kill me! Shock

Wreck. Envy

ConstantlyCooking · 18/09/2018 23:03

Well done Wrecked. We saw it earlier this year and DD (who didn't really like the books) and DS (who decided he was too cool at 21) both loved it!
It was v warm here yesterday but when I walked home there was a whiff of autumn smoke in the air.

Morning!

As predicted, our washing is dry now. Can't beat a good wind for it at any time of day!

Thank god it's Wednesday today. Almost my Friday. I'm knackered. I did get my OH referral done yesterday though, so that's something.

My mum is helping me to plan what veg I can overwinter on the allotment. It's useful to have a hand as a novice!

I feel like a zombie this morning. Have struggled to wake up / keep my eyes open but not sure why as I slept well.

No chance of putting washing out here as it rained a lot overnight. I think my washing line will be folded away until spring now - can't believe you were brave enough to leave clothes on the line overnight Fluffy - I'd be scared of bringing bugs into the house on them (although I think that's more about where I live as there are woods behind me so lots of creepy crawlies here).

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2018 07:16

I'm not worried about bugs! But we have a coastal breeze to blow them all out again. 😂

We dry outside all year round. If it's dry, it goes out (and see comment re coastal breeze above!).

We trusted Friday's overnight forecast as bring dry. The washing got drowned. Then drowned again twice on Saturday before finally drying! Never mind!

I'm knackered too, Baubles. Crap, isn't it?

Constantly dd is a mega fan (read all the books about five times including the cursed child) she's going to be 9 next year so hoping she can cope with the two performances!

It's spitting here with a light breeze b

BiddyPop · 19/09/2018 09:30

I'm joining Crazy on the zombies bench this morning - I had a meeting last night that ran late, and DH was peppering as he had an early flight, but as he was eating breakfast, saw it was cancelled and had to rebook for lunchtime before coming back to bed at 4.30am...so having not slept before he left, I didn't sleep much after he didn't leave...

Small steps. Old Committee file now filled and ready to hand over (I need to do it with the Treasurer who is staying on, as I also need to hand over admin of the WhatsApp group and Dropbox files). No real work yet on 1 new Committee (need to talk to the other lady involved but will see her tonight at a social event). And the other, well, I think I should do minutes from last night (I have no idea if anyone else does them), and I will have a letter to write but others need to do things before that happens. Lots of other admin related to me other role within that group though.

So today, I am trying to ignore the fact there are lawyers coming in to yell at me later this morning and just deal with the deluge of emails overnight - for some reason, people seem to have suddenly hit "work mode" in lots of places only this week...

PhilomenaButterfly · 19/09/2018 10:18

Morning! I've just had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and a banana. 😋🐟🍌

I'm glad I brought our washing in this morning, it showered once on the way to school and once on the way back. The uniforms and pyjamas will be needed tomorrow.

Seafoodeatit · 19/09/2018 10:39

wreck oooh I've heard lots of good things about cursed child, I hope you enjoy it :). For those that have been before what age would you say it's suitable from?

Acey sorry I had it in my head that your scan was the day before mine, mine is this afternoon :) sorry to hear about your neighbours, they sound absolutely awful, I agree with the others - is there a way to leave or get them to go?

Crazy & biddy I'm sorry to hear you're both in zombie mode today, hopefully you'll be back to your usual selves tomorrow.

biddy eeek at shouty lawyers!

Feeling very festive this morning, got the grotto booked for the kids and their christmas meet santa clothes have arrived Xmas Grin

Seafoodeatit · 19/09/2018 10:39

Philomena I love the sound of your breakfast, I'm very envious of you being able to have smoked salmon!

HairsprayBabe · 19/09/2018 10:49

morning all you beautiful Christmas people!

I have started Christmas shopping in earnest now may have gone slightly over board for SDS but I was excited and have never bought things for a child before and there was a bargain deal of MLP stuff in the entertainer so me and DFiance ;) went a bit mad...

2MLP under the sea play sets well over 1/2 price plus about 5 additional figures. A big cuddly purple MLP and a small orange cuddly one. MLP baking book and apron and a MLP dolls tea set.

I hope she still likes the horses in December!

Not sure how we will spit it options are either everything from both of us or the vast majority from her dad and maybe just the book apron and tea set from me?

I have bought a selection of miniature boozes for all the men to open after xmas dinner, the children/teens get sweets and I either do photos in nice frames or something home made for the rest of the ladies.

I wanted to do block printed scarves but I haven't found any that I can print on to that are a reasonable price and have no pattern currently!

Heavystream · 19/09/2018 10:54

Fluffy You’re very brave putting the washing out at night! I’m always so scared that it’s gonna rain and we’ll have to start all over again.
Baubles and Biddy I’ll join you both with feeling like a zombie!. Our chickens aren’t really fans of the strong wind so they’ve been clucking all night keeping us up!.

The wind is really heavy here, we have all the windows and doors closed but can still hear it. Our fires on, I’ve just been out to let the chickens into their run and topped up their feed and water. Arthur had a bit of a wobble going in this morning, he’s such a little homebody and he saw that we’d had the fire on and all the lamps on so it was cosy and started crying. I’m making an indoor picnic now so he can have a bit of a treat when he gets back.(Homemade lenondade, carrot cake and some pop cakes).
I think he’s getting a bit jealous that Lorcan and John are at home with me all the time and we go and do stuff in the day, he’s always been a mummy’s boy.

We’re also considering keeping Lorcan back a year as he’s summer born. He’s very shy and reserved and I don’t think he’s ready for school just yet. Especially as he’ll only have been in nursery for 6 months before he starts. So I think we might just keep him back so he can get used to nursery. If any of you have done this or know people who have I’d really welcome your advice.

The nights are definitely drawing in, it was dark here at about 7 last night and the fire was on. Had to put the fire on this morning when we got up as well and change the boys in front of it as it was too cold in their rooms and I don’t like using the heating if it isn’t necessary.

Hope you all have a great day!

BiddyPop · 19/09/2018 11:03

It's quite warm here still, or otherwise I would be seriously tempted to light the stove tonight.

PhilomenaButterfly · 19/09/2018 11:29

Sorry Seafood, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it! Blush

FurForksSake · 19/09/2018 11:32

Heavy, it is worth looking at local facebook groups and asking for specific information. Though the law changed and you should be able to hold them back and put them into reception in many areas they won't do it without evidence of a specific need. Wilf is technically summer born, but has totally flown and would have found it hard socially being held back.

FurForksSake · 19/09/2018 11:36

You can eat smoked salmon during pregnancy?

PhilomenaButterfly · 19/09/2018 11:37

Back to names Heavy, you're having an Alan and you already have a John, I went to school with Alan and John twins. I'm 51. Good, traditional names. 👍
