PhilomenaButterfly · 15/09/2018 11:26

Tell me about it Crazy! 😴😴😴😴😴😴

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2018 11:53

I'm hoping my drug cocktail won't prevent me from giving. I couldn't find it on their website to check.

I can get a picture. I've no idea what size it is, though I can measure round the waist I suppose! There's some loose stitching, but it's in great condition otherwise. I just don't know where the best place to market it would be?

In the waiting room now. They're running 20 minutes' late, typically.

Afternoon all! The house is full of a cold today so we’re cuddling up watching Harry Potter!. I’ve got the casserole on and we’ve just had some samosas. Thankfully Arthur has stopped throwing up completely but John caught a cold from play group so now we all have that!.

Heavystream · 15/09/2018 13:38

Hope you’re all doing well!

WreckTangled · 15/09/2018 14:31

The shop has been so busy I've only just had my first coffee! Feeling very tired but it's made the day go quick. I did these balloons earlier

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/09/2018 18:01

Went to Bluewater with DD today.

John Lewis have Gin Advent Calenders in Xmas Wink
Downstairs level of Boots was looking strangely empty , like they'd cleared space for new stock........................... what could that be ?

Seafoodeatit · 15/09/2018 18:36

Philomena Your lunch sounds lovely.

wreck very cute balloons :)

*Day in watching harry potter sounds brilliant, sorry to hear you now have a cold to deal with, that's the only downside of this time of year!

Fluffy Donating blood is such a wonderful thing to do. I'm not able to donate but my blood group ab+ is able to accept every group but nobody else would be able to accept ours, we're a teeny percentage though.

PhilomenaButterfly · 15/09/2018 19:53

Had veggie korma for supper, DS2 will go to bed at 8, DD will go at 8.30. 😋🍠🍄🍅🍆🍆😴

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2018 20:02

Heavy, I hope the colds all go quickly. Our two were SO snotty at preschool. Almost permanently! School doesn't seem so bad, touch wood.

We are having apple and blackberry crumble now the kids have gone to bed. 😁

Apparently there's a shortage of O+, which is mine and DH's blood type, so we both did our bit to top up supplies today!

I got turned away last time I tried to give blood. I'm a carrier for GH and they didn't know if I could donate. The GH website seems to say it's ok but...

🤷🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2018 20:39

What's GH, Woolly?

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 15/09/2018 20:48

I've had 2 glasses of wine so my spelling may be a bit freestyle Grin

It's Genetic Haemochromatosis. It is a condition where the body stores iron and can cause organ failure including cirrhosis of the liver.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2018 20:50

Oh, I've not heard of that. I've not seen it mentioned on any of the bumpf.

haemochromatosis.org.uk/faqs3/

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/09/2018 21:07

Thanks Phil I've read those FAQs but they don't seem to give answers about carriers - just people with managed GH. The Blood Service didn't know either.

Mrsmadevans · 15/09/2018 21:23

Evening all Smile
My computer has been playing me up something terrible today Hmm
I did an update last night and shut it down as usual , this morning when l put it on AVG antivirus decided to tell me l wasn't protected for virus or malware Shock , anyway l have been trying to get it all sorted and finally have removed all the AVG program and am now using BITDEFENDER FREE and it seems fine.......... fingers crossed. Smile
Fluffy you smashing girl you and your DH, well done on giving blood again. Thank you both for being so selfless Flowers.
We bought a load of bulbs today from Wilkos too, thank you for the heads up , a huge bag of Daffs, 20 Grape Hyacinths and a bag of Alliums , might get a few more yet Xmas Grin , am loving the sound of your DGM vintage wedding dress too.......
Am glad you are a carrier and not a sufferer Woolly it sounds as if the symptoms are not very pleasant m'dear Flowers
Hope all suffering from colds are much better very soon Flowers
Wreck am loving the balloons working in the toy shop sounds FUN! Xmas Grin
Crazy you were right about Cwmbran it was nuts there today , DH nearly had a fit driving around looking for a space Xmas Grin, the knitted bible is on till 4pm on Tuesday if you want to have a look Smile
Onehell l used to lurk for months then one day .............. Xmas Grin
70 , Cwmbran shops had a few shelves clear , the freezers in Iceland and M&S had hardly anything in them , think they are going to start stocking up soon, went into Lidl too NO STOLLEN YET Hmm Grin
Heavy glad Arthur is recovered , sorry the house is full of a cold , get well soon all of you Flowers
PSB you do such lovely meals Smile sorry you awake so early , l would be irritable and cranky if it were me
Sea , did you know that your blood plasma can be used for any blood type ? l find it so interesting Smile
I better get going, my eyes are so blurry from doing this damn computer anti virus .
Have a good night sleep everyone Smile
Nos Da

WreckTangled · 15/09/2018 21:28

Mrs dh is AB+ but read that only men can donate plasma? He looked into it but the nearest place to do it is London which would make it a bit of a day trip really. We do live in the Home Counties but it's an hour on the train...

Mrsmadevans · 15/09/2018 21:43

I didn't see it was only men Wreck but it is too much to expect you to do that m'dear , hopefully they will extend the venues to be able to take it is the future Smile l am sure as time goes on they will be able to do that .
l am like PSB and would love to donate but had a transfusion after DD2 in 1995 and am not allowed to . Such a shame because they must be missing out on a lot of ppl who would be giving blood otherwise and l would love a lie down and a Brew and a bikkie after Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/09/2018 21:53

I need to get my DS along again , he donated just before he was 18 (DH accompanied him) then ate the entire NHS budget in biscuits , he weighs nothing in his socks , but just tipped the scales to be heavy enough.

It is really hard to get a date though (I may have a search now)

PhilomenaButterfly · 16/09/2018 04:38

Ha! I got in first with the countdown! 😆😆😆😆😆
