Am late replying took Mum to Dancing club, well what a gossip group Xmas Grin
Apparently K (80) who does the DJ ing and D (75) who is his partner have fallen out. D has packed her bags and gone back to her home in Dudley. He is heartbroken poor bloke , he has bags of money and no kith or kin to leave it to and now D has left him he is on the lookout for a new woman. l did think about offering myself up for the job but ....... I don't like the white leather shoes he proudly wears to show off his fancy footwork Envy. Anyway it is slightly payback time for him because he used M as his partner, then when D came along he dropped M a hot potato, M is very nice but older than D and not such a dolly bird common
Mel 82, has been ill and had to have Morphine for his Sciatica, l had a great talk to him about it , Xmas Grin l said the Gabapentin the GP gave me made me feel so drunk and tired l would rather put up with the pain Xmas Grin, he is loving the Tramadol the Gp has now given him Grin
It is a hotbed of life but not as we know it Grin
Thank you all for your kindness and concern for Mum she is much happier tonight , l think she is relieved she knows what has happened now and can rest .
70 you have given me ideas what to do with said wedding dress thank you Xmas Grin saved me wearing it as me shroud
RED your girl is beautiful hope you spoilt her very much , l am sure you did Smile. I am not surprised you are proud of your DH, it is not everyone who could do that for someone in crisis bless him Flowers for DH
Acey milk it for all it's worth , you deserve it Smile have a nice day off tomorrow m'dear
PSB l had a feeling the tankini may not be allowed never mind m'dear, Flowers
Sea we have decided not to do pressies for each other anymore but it isn't every ones cuppa tea l know , l am sure you will find something gorgeous for him . Tenby is just heavenly, if you have never been then l can thoroughly recommend it , simply beautiful.
Crazy l love that Christmas tree and yes so cold here but we are not putting the heating on yet!
Biddy, love clean fresh sheets to climb into bed at night Smile, keep going with the crafting you might get more done than you think good luck .
Woolly that sounds lovely what you did with your wedding dress
Fluffy have you heard bout the job yet m'dear am on tenterhooks so goodness knows how you feel Smile
Heavy am so glad Arthur is better bless him.
Better shift and get to bed hope everyone has a good nights sleep see you in the morning Xmas Smile

Morning! Drinking coffee and waiting for BBC breakfast news and Carol the Weather, will make sure DD's up at 6.20, DS2's probably playing Roblox, will help him get dressed at 6.35. Brew

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/09/2018 07:40

Morning all

MrsMad I'm sorry I missed the bit about your mum's friend. That must have been sad for her.
I have only been to Tenby once for a wedding. We stayed in a hotel built on the cliff edge and their dining room had huge plate glass windows with spectacular views of the sea. My favourite memory of the weekend was sitting having breakfast watching a storm whip the waves up. Beautiful.

I have got the house to myself ALL DAY. DH has just taken DS to get his train and then he will go on to the office. DD1 will leave in 30 minutes. I have made a cup of tea and I'm heading back to bed for a wee snooze before a day of crafting. I picked up some nice deli bits in M&S yesterday for my lunch and I am going to savour every moment. Grin

DS has settled well into his new school. He's made some friends who sound really nice and has thrown himself into the sporting side of things. He even did his homework without grumbling about it last night Shock. I'm so relieved.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2018 07:46

Morning!

The dancing gossip club members' shenanigans are all very exciting, Mrs! 😂

Not heard yet. I emailed yesterday and they're deciding next week, apparently. So I'm remaining zen until then!

Right, time to take the DC to school soon, so I need to get a wriggle on!

@redgreen - ah bless you that sounds awful, the exhaustion is crippling! I had 14 hours sleep and I’m still tired! Your cat is beautiful, she looks a lot like my girl! I’ve attached a pic of her 😁

@Mrs - I will definitely be milking it, my poor brother had to drive round 3 different Morrisons this morning to get raspberry donuts as no others would do! Grin The dance club sounds like so much fun, and so much gossip too! I will definitely enjoy my day off thank you 😁

My kitten turns into Satan at night and runs around the house like a maniac, so tired 😴

Just having a coconut iced coffee, sounds revolting but cor this baby loves them. 😂 going to start clearing the spare room out too😁

Gorgeous Acey they both have little moustaches!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2018 08:39

Lots of cute kitties! 🐱

I'm glad your DS is settling well, Woolly. Your day sounds amazing. I'm heading into town briefly for a few bits then I'm back to the allotment to plant more bulbs. I'm a third through the 400+ I have!

CrazyBaubles · 14/09/2018 09:04

MrsMad I love the gossip club - it's a bit like my teenage school years Grin
Tenby is beautiful isn't it? Have spent many weekends there enjoying the scenery.

Woolly Snap! I have a day off, at home by myself and plan to spend 75% of it crafting (I also need to hoover, food shop & cook). What crafting are you doing today?

Fluffy do you ever rest? What have / are you planting?

Almost in countdown double figures!!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2018 09:23

I do rest in the evenings, mostly, unless I feel a pressing need to do something!

I'm planting spring bulbs, including allium and narcissus. I can't remember the others' names! DH is building our shed. Wooo!

Whoever it was asked about sleep, it was a rare commodity for a good while, but it's OK now (injuries excepted!). They're good little mates too. Hopefully it stays that way!

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/09/2018 09:52

I'm late for a meeting at the school with the family coach and DD! 😨

BiddyPop · 14/09/2018 10:10

Well, another busy day ahead of me at work and busy weekend on the home front. I've ordered the food shopping for tonight, so 1 less task to do, and we're getting pizza for dinner (DD's request, DH only wanted to know if there'd be wine to accompany it!).

School is happy to pursue something to support DD, but I need to get an outside assessment done for the necessary evidence base (the previous assessment is too old to use for this purpose). So that's paperwork this weekend.

But I managed to get another 1.5 inches knitting done today - the new timetables on the trains means there is a far better chance of a seat!! Yay!!

Good luck at your meeting PB
MrsMad your DM's dance gossip club sounds great!
Fluffy I hope you get your news soon and that the shoulder is easing off for you.
Hi to all the newcomers, I know I'm missing loads!

FurForksSake · 14/09/2018 11:33

I got myself an advent calendar. not going for a beauty one this year as I didn't use most of what was in mine last year.

Sheets are blowing on the line, it's a great washing day here!

Countdown to Christmas: the Strictly Come Dancing official countdown has begun edition! Thread 6.
TheWoollybacksWife · 14/09/2018 11:38

Crazy I'm going to work on my granny stripe Woolly Hug first. I've got 4 colour changes to do, then I need to sew in the loose ends and then start the edging. I'm hoping to get everything done bar the edging today but I'm only just starting my crafting.

In my defence I have done 2 loads of laundry, tidied my bedroom and DS's bedroom, cleaned 2 bathrooms, wiped down all the woodwork on the stairs and landing, put dinner in the slow cooker, meal planned up to a week on Sunday and cleaned the hob and kitchen sink. I'm ready to begin and I have a clear conscience about the housework.

If I get bored or finish my crochet I am going to do a couple of needle felted baubles for my hall Christmas tree.

What are you planning?

BiddyPop · 14/09/2018 12:53

Beware, I put the sheets out last night and DH took them in when he got home (flight delayed, so abuot 11pm and nearly dry) - luckily as it rained overnight, was drizzly this morning and torrential downpours mid morning. Now have sunshine, but tthere are still scattered showers on the radar coming our direction (and onwards to UK).

FurForksSake · 14/09/2018 13:03

Mine dried in an hour thank goodness. I now Have DH's clothes out ready to pack for his business trip. He's off to India for a week tomorrow. I feel knackered just thinking about my 24/7 week at home.

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/09/2018 13:16

The meeting was to talk about how to stop DD when she starts panicking when DS2's just being a 7yo boy. 😆

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/09/2018 13:18

I was very little when I went to Tenby. I mostly remember the book I bought about the legend of the red and white dragons.

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/09/2018 13:59

Had a ham and mushroom omelette and a banana today. 😋🍄🍌

CrazyBaubles · 14/09/2018 14:20

I am finishing my Christmas scarf which is a present for a friend who's even more crismras mad than I am Xmas Grin After that I'm not sure what to work on next. I have a V stitch blanket that is much too wide so I may risk attempting to shorten it or it'll never get finished.
Other than that I have a doll (well, 2 legs and a body) that needs working on as it's a Christmas present for my niece.

I've finished making my mini fairy lights and the other Christmas tree so just need to sew them on to the scarf (I cleared my housework first too)!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/09/2018 15:01

I was out and about today (dropped DD at 6th Form - I know I know) went shopping for various bits, got an umbrella for DD and hay for my guinea-pigs .

Took DS to London to make sure he knows his Uni Route (he's not train savvy and people on the Underground would push you onto the tracks rather that let you have a second to get your bearings Angry )

Nice Autumnal weather here and a fair few Christmas items sneaking in . B&M had a Make Your Own Hamper basket kit , but it was closed so I couldn't have a good nosey.

FurForksSake · 14/09/2018 15:28

Missed that in B&M yesterday, will have to go back for another look. Just got the washing in, just about dry, dry enough anyway! I move fastest when it starts raining on my washing!!!

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/09/2018 15:58

Apparently, the reason that tankinis aren't allowed is because they ride up. Of course, 2 inches of bare belly on an 11 yo is going to send the swimming teacher and boys into a sexual frenzy. Hmm

They didn't mention budgie smugglers in the letter. Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2018 15:58

I move faster than Usain Bolt if it's raining on my washing! 😂

I've done almost 3 hours' work at the allotment and am now exhausted! DH has built a shed for me today. I assisted by holding walls / the roof in place while he was drilling. Lucky me! I've also planted about 150 ish bulbs too, I think. Still got loads left though, so there's plenty more work where that came from.

I never go to B&M. Perhaps I should!
