Yes L imagine you make a fair few of each so that is any of you are hungry you can supplement with them for snacks . I can imagine the Flapjacks are extremely tasty and filling. I think you have worked out what your family like and what fills them and is good for them so well . I think l would find it far too labour intensive for me with the Parents and DH and DD2 are more conventional in their meal choices ie meat and 2 veg but DD1 is vegan and l could cheerfully turn vegetarian.

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 20:08

Thank you Heavy for posting your meal plans it is very kind of you Flowers
I for one find it very interesting and gives me good ideas to try too!

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 20:11

Wreck so glad you are home and had a great time , we stayed overnight when we used to go and we did Thorpe Park one day and Chessington the next. It was exhausting but great fun!

Redgreencoverplant · 09/09/2018 20:11

Ah fab Heavy, it all looks very tasty!

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 20:12

Thank you Mrs, the boys love veggie food and I ate meat before I had them but then it cost too much to have meat as well as all the veggie food. But we’re all very happily veggie now!

WreckTangled · 09/09/2018 20:15

Mrs I bet! We live less than an hour away so no need to stay luckily. The dc loves it though. They're a bit young for Thorpe Park but I think dd will like it when she's older, ds hates rollercoasters!

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 20:18

I think it is the way to go for a lot of people, l find myself eating fish or meat (not a great lover of either and l did go veggie for years before l had the DC) and feeling bad for the suffering of the animal . I am a bit of a sensitive soul to put it mildly Hmm believe me it's a curse.

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 20:25

That's what DH and I do Fluffy, save our points for Christmas. DH buys the meat and a bottle of port with his, I buy beer, naice juice for the DC, puddings, chocolates, crisps and "Nectar presents" with mine. 🎅🎄🍖🍗🍷🍺🍨🍧🍦🍫🎁

Heavystream · 09/09/2018 20:27

The boys are in bed now. I’m just cleaning the oven and then quickly hovering and wiping down sides and tidying away toys. I love Sunday’s because everywhere is clean and everything smells lovely (even my husband!).

We’re going to watch strictly on catchup and then an early night for me. Arthur has already scuffed his shoes!. He starts swimming next week so I’m looking forward to see how he gets on with that. Lorcan is starting nursery in January (I’m not ready!) and we’re going to meet up with a few other children who are going tomorrow to get him used to everyone.

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 20:48

Had cottage pie for supper, DS2 will go to bed at 9. 😋😴

Seafoodeatit · 09/09/2018 21:07

Mrsmad I wish! He only really does two dishes - macaroni and cheese & apple crumble, the last time he cooked crumble was about 3 years ago, think these macaroni and cheese was a similar amount! He does however do all the cleaning up after I've cooked which is good as I hate doing the kitchen. You and your husband sound like a great team :)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/09/2018 21:11

I've been vegetarian since I was 14yo, DH since 19yo (we're both 52) , DD for just over a year (she's 16)
DS is the only non-vegetarian but he'll only eat chicken or sausages (occasionaly fish , twice a year)

We had a Toby Carvery meal today , we were discussing meals on the way , Christmas Dinner especially.
They had a huge wreath and a tree up ( cue judgey mttering from most of the diners) Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 09/09/2018 22:45

MrsMad how did you manage to dry clothes in this weather? It's been drizzly and cold just a few miles from you!

I Hope your DF is feeling a bit chirpier today. I dread mine getting to the stage he really starts to slow down. He's approaching 60 now so not old really but he's absolutely in denial about how much physical work he can do and will push to do jobs he did easily in his 20s then act surprised when his muscles ache / he's tired / his back hurts 🙄

Heavy how do you make your cocoa pops please? It's a favourite cereal here but I never have it because the shop bought ones have so much sugar.
Well done on your meal plans, they look lovely.

We have finished the house, just need to do a tip run tomorrow as I missed it today. The house is lovely and sparkly Xmas Grin but I am very tired so bed soon. I came across some Christmas craft stuff I'd forgotten about and a Christmas present I bought last year and lost so have put it aside for this year (in my Christmas bag so it can't go missing again)!

Mrsmadevans · 09/09/2018 23:04

Crazy it has been a nice day here !! Windy as hell and a couple of small showers but nowt really. I actually finished drying the 3rd lineful this evening too Xmas Grin . Funny that the weather is very localised , we went to Merthyr to do the DPs shopping yest and came back over LLangynidr mountain, coming back through LLangattock the roads were completely dry!
Well done on the cleaning you have done brilliantly Xmas Grin
My DH is 62 and he is finally learning he cannot do the same physical work he used to , his shoulder injury has really made him think more abut what he can and can't do . NDN fell again the other day and he wanted us to go around and pick him up and put him in his armchair again. About 5 yrs ago we did just that but not now. He had to wait for the carers to come in to get him into his chair. We have learnt our lesson the hard way. Me with Sciatica and DH with his shoulder ! Grin
Sea thank you m'dear that is so kind of you. I think you and your DH have it together too espesh if he is doing the cleaning up after ! That is the worst bit imho! Xmas Grin
70 your Toby Carvery have the right idea lol bring it on!
Wreck l hate rollercoasters too. l am always afraid the seat will not hold eeekkkkk! Grin
PSB brilliant thread thank you m'dear!
Night everyone have a great night Smile

107 awake stupidly early Angry

NoWordForFluffy · 10/09/2018 06:43

I get up at 5.15 on my work days, so I know how you feel, Wreck! I didn't exercise today as my shoulder was really sore when I woke up. I steam mopped downstairs instead!

DS isn't sleeping well since starting school: he's started to cry in his sleep. I think it's just his brain processing it all to be honest, poor sausage!

We got two loads of washing dry yesterday. After the almost-constant rain for 24 hours before, yesterday was the perfect drying day! I got it all put away too as I like to start the week with the house as sorted as possible!

The grand plan is actually going quite well as I leapfrogged to the kids' rooms this weekend. We got a new bookcase for DD and DS has her old one. This will keep their rooms tidier. Hopefully. Though they've started to play upstairs loads more these days, so another thinking through is likely to be needed soon!

Morning! All ready for school, had chocolate pancakes and Incredibles 2 cereal for breakfast, watching BBC breakfast news and Matt (not Carol) the weather. 😋🍫

Redgreencoverplant · 10/09/2018 09:03

Morning, my last week in my current job :)

Redgreencoverplant · 10/09/2018 09:04

Where are we supposed to be on the grand plan by now fluffy? I have done the garden and the sitting room so far. Going to tackle the entrance hall this evening but think I am behind a bit?

Mrsmadevans · 10/09/2018 09:20

Morning all Smile
Hope your shoulder is feeling less sore now Fluffy Flowers
Your poor DS bless him it is so upsetting for you to hear him cry in his sleep Sad l know he will settle in very soon it's just not nice having to go through this. When will you hear about the job ? It is very exciting for you all Smile
PSB l don't mind Matt either but miss breathless Carol the weather when she isn't on lol Xmas Grin
Have a lovely day all taking the parents to Brecon for the hearing aid clinic ....joy of joys Xmas Grin

BiddyPop · 10/09/2018 11:33

Morning all!

This week, for those who are asking, the grand plan is in the Entryway/foyer (or in my house, the hall/stairs/landings/understairs cupboards). Although I am kinda leapfrogging as well, with tasks all over the place getting done as I can.

One important one though this week for me is always checking the batteries on the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, which are mostly in the hall and upstairs landing.

Busy weekend - not necessarily in order but back on the water with Cubs (chaos but they enjoyed it!), a nice steak dinner with DH, DD's last big event of the year sailing (and national rankings awarded for the year as well), paperwork for various Committees/Cubs/school, visiting my newest DNiece (and doing a bottle, burps and a pooey nappy before I left!) and a big batch of lasagna (1 for tonight, only 1 for freezer and 3 for the new parents - DH thought the pot of sauce would do loads more!). Oh, and loads of homework for DD!

I've had to bow to the inevitable on 1 request - I'm now Class Captain for the sailing (but at least outgoing Captain is staying on 1 more year, so we'll share it this year). I'm handing over 1 job this week though, and leaving that Committee. And I've decided that I will take time to do a theory course for myself related to sailing as well, so that will be Monday nights all winter. I think my crafting efforts will have to be scaled back.

And DH and DD are starting to think about Christmas. I haven't pushed them or been talking much. But DH was checking how my progress on scarves was going and if I'd need a fall back for some recipients (no - I WILL finish those!). And he's decided on DD's main present (smart phone and a decent case!) after the screen smashed on the older model one she has (so no decent cases available to fit!).

RedGreen you're exactly on the right area and not behind at all!
