Matalan have got their Christmas stuff online already. Some nice baubles, but nothing jumping out at me like the nutcracker cloche last year.

DH has started with the bug today, and I'm still not great. DS is fine, and Thursdays are my day off so no childcare today, so we've been tag teaming at 2 hour intervals. I've given him (DS, that is) a pomegranate in the hope that keeps him occupied for 15 minutes... I'm quite proud I managed to get some veggies in him for his tea as well. Was tempted to just give him beans on toast but mummy-guilt kicked in!

Fluffy hope your shoulder is not troubling you too much , DH is still in pain but he says it is not as bad as it was. He is living on Cocodamol and Voltarol cream.

I was in Stratford upon Avon a couple of weeks back and they have a year round open Christmas shop. I love Christmas but it was sweltering hot and I just couldn't get into it. However today I have been blackberrying and made a crumble, and have made soup too. There was the smell of autumn leaves in the air and that got me thinking of cosy times and Christmas coming. There's some beautiful autumn coloured leaves just starting on the cherry trees. I've downloaded the Manage Christmas app and have started to think of presents.
This year my children will be here on Christmas morning which will be great. Last year was the first one where they had to go to their dad's and it was awful not having them here. It wasn't really Christmas until they got home.

I was thinking about presents the other day and was really happy to realise I have no boyfriend to buy for this year it's probably weird that I'm happy to be single but it's true. This also means I don't have to watch any shite on TV that isn't of my choosing. I can watch Christmas 24 in peace and harmony without being ridiculed. I can lovingly display all the precious Christmas decorations without being disparaged. I can get excited about things without anyone rolling their eyes and telling me that Christmas is just for kids. I can reminisce on all my Christmas memories without any head shaking. Morning! I'm sure I heard DS2 up at around 5. 😭😭😭😭 In bed drinking coffee, have listened to all the latest news through Google Assistant.

A busy few days:
DH and I went to Ikea on Wednesday (no Christmas stuff sighted) and then started assembling furniture. Then yesterday DD got her A level results - she didn't manage the grades for her first choice. She was v disappointed as she had her heart set on one course at a particular uni. However, she did get a place for the same course at a different uni.
Christmas this year will now start when she and DS return for the holidays. I am considering introducing new decorating and advent traditions to coincide with this.

What food would you put in party boxes? 3 7yos and a nearly 11yo.
