I want rain

When I woke up this morning there was rain forecast for today at 2pm. When I was preparing my lunch it had changed to 5pm. I've just checked now and it's changed again to 1am. It's not going to happen, is it?

Ours was forecast for 10pm, it now says 2am.

Picked the DC up, had veggie lasagne and garlic ciabatta, DS2 will go to bed at 7.30. 😋😴

My mum is slowly wilting away, Woolly. The humidity is dreadful down your way, I hear.

I've contemplated sleeping in the garden but last night was bearable. This is my garden though

Oh no! Ours is similar. Or was; we've had rain, but we've not been there to see the result of it!

It'd be rock hard to sleep on.

Morning. I'm awake for no discernible reason other than I've slept terribly this holiday. Thank god I'm in my own bed again tomorrow! I think the kids are looking forward to going home too really.

I'm not sure we got any more rain overnight, though I may have been woken by thunder once, I'm not sure.

York today to the railway museum. We're all looking forward to it!

Well, I didn't get sewing last night. Too hot, I spent too long enjoying cooking my dinner, and I had to sort things in the garden as well (I emptied the rain butt into my large buckets - to be able to catch as much rainwater as possible if it does rain later, as forecast!). But while dinner cooked, I did manage to get a whole bag of thyme leaves stripped from stalks and frozen, so that is getting ahead for me (and counts as this week's effort to filling the freezer).

This morning, I dragged my lazy self out of bed for a short swim before work - it feels good but I am very sleepy. DH didn;'t get in until almost midnight last night (a work dinner), and has already headed off (meeting down the country, and staying with DMIL for the weekend to do her jobs), and I will do a lot at home over the weekend to declutter before I go on Sunday (Scout camp) - we'll see each other again on Tuesday night.

We didn't get any storms and could really do with one to break the heat. It's dull and humid today, and feels very claggy....I'm going to be in a puddle at the desk most of the day.

Dd1 has made me a bed on the couch and is sat watching babysprouts to make sure he doesn’t get up to mischief

Went to a meeting, had our packed lunches when we got back, dropped the DC off at Adventure, picked them up at 5, had beef stew and dumplings for supper, DS2's in bed. 😋😴

Morning! We're going home today. Hurrah!

I've slept terribly here so I'm looking forward to my own bed.

It's allotment-clearing day tomorrow, I'm excited!

Oh yes the "Back to your own bed" joy after being away

I love going on holiday, the counting down the days , the planning clothes, suncream, packing, double checking.
Not so much the 3am wake up to get to the airport !

Waking up on the first night away , not knowing where I am for a few seconds.
And of course waking up seeing my bedroom when I get home .

It is pouring down here, the rain woke me up last night as it was so heavy (we do have Velux windows though) I got so sunburnt at the beach the other day so the rain is a relief. Where is everyone from? I'm in the Scottish Highlands, so definitely not as hot here as other parts of the country but hotter than we're used to.

Not much movement on the Christmas front! I've been doing some research for dc gifts. I am also learning how to crochet - I really want to make Santa hats for my dc. Might have to wait till next Christmas at the rate I'm going
