HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

We binge watched loads of Prime Suspect recently - you keep seeing people that you recognise (when they were much younger)

Oil of Cloves is very good (as in effective) to euthanise a goldfish humanely , so I'm not keen on the smell of it now after having to dispatch DS goldfish .

Ooh allotment - I'd grow pumpkins and re-enact a scene from some cheesey American horror for Hallowe'en.......................
Grow corn too !

DD will go to bed at 9.20. Doing a wash. 😴

I'll be growing corn (we have 6 in the garden right now!), but not pumpkins. Maybe squash though.

I've just made the lemon curd. The afternoon tea in a bag is getting there. Scones and lemon drizzle cake to make in the morning!

Oh 70 that is awful you poor thing , l don't think l could do that to the goldfish , l can't even kill a fly . I am chicken l know . I think l could kill them if they were in pain though and they had no hope of living and it was putting them out of their misery., DH does all this sort of thing for me bless him.
Prime suspect is brilliant, we saw a very young Danny Dyer today , we can't get over the excellent acting, writing and actors involved in it.

Yes our goldfish was ancient and had already survived a rather robust treatment for some illness (we have a brilliant pond/fish store near us, they give advice and loaned us an aerator to use in a solution then water treatment ) this was when the fish was ill over the Royal Wedding weekend (Kate and William)
When he was dying ( this was a good while later) , I did the clove oil- it gets shaken up in water till its white then it anaethetises them , they really go quick (then they go in the freezer when they're out of it) , I put him in a yellow Nestle milkshake box

I get judgey looks from the guinea-pigs but they're too tubby to fit in the milkshake box (kidding pigs , I loves yah )

Sounds a peaceful and kind thing to do if they're ill 70.

Work has suddenly become unbearably busy so I've been doing additional hours where I can. I'm flipping exhausted, however, I am ensuring I take a lunch break (which I waste looking at Christmas presents / decorations / holidays)

WRT Prime Suspect, I've never seen it but I've recently binge-watched all 4 seasons of Sherlock (the Benedict Cumberbatch version) and loved it despite never previously being a fan of him. Would Prime Suspect be good for my next binge?

Crazy , l think you will love Prime Suspect , l have just watched 1-4 and can honestly say no 1 was the best imho but they are all brilliant .

Morning! Drinking coffee and waiting for BBC breakfast news and Carol the weather to come on.

I've been up and baking so the cakes are cool enough to bag up for 10.30 when we are off to preschool for DS' graduation.

My scones didn't rise as much as I'd hoped, but never mind!

Fluffy the cakes and scones look beautiful , really they do , l think the recipients will be absolutely thrilled! Well Done!!
Am up to take mum to the hairdresser , do the usual cleaning, meal prep, personal care, washing,shopping, etc etc will then go to see NDN and take him some batteries for his hearing aids, Bless him he was delighted to see us last week to clean and generally overhaul his aids, not a very pleasant job mind but no on else will do it for him , his DDS think it is beneath them, he is profoundly deaf and it was getting him down not being able to hear .
Hopefully a walk thrown in there somewhere and feed the birds in BrynBach Park

Morning all,

Today is another slightly quieter day here. Work - but not the manic pace of recent months. DD has to pack her gear for Scout camp tonight - for inspection tomorrow night (which she only found out yesterday). But it's do-able (she just has to skip a sailing session that was only announced this morning). DH is home again and we had family dinner last night which was nice.

Hopefully I will catch up on everyone's news as well - but HI everyone in the meantime!

Just had eggs and bacon and a banana. 😋🍳🍌

Will write DS2's invitations today.

The DC are really looking forward to going into yrs 3 and 6 respectively, DD says that her new teacher has got 3 trips booked already, and there will be more! I don't know when they start their SATs boosters, DD and I are both hoping not in the 1st week!

Does anyone know if QVC have already or plan to do something for Christmas in July? 🤔

We are off to preschool for graduation. There were tears all round at drop off, so this may be a very soggy event! Dentist afterwards. That'll cheer me up. Not!

Buttocks - I don’t ever buy anything off QVC (although that might not always be the case) but I enjoy watching the Xmas stuff. Andy Peters is funny when they do the festive food segments. Some of the pies and sweet stuff looks delicious but cost a fortune!

We have WiFi, but you have to sit in our bedroom window to receive it.

I mean my own WiFi / broadband in the house.

In theory, we wouldn't need it if we didn't live in the basement. I've read stuff on the InLink, which is pretty much outside our house, we in London are the lucky guinea pigs who get to try it first. I've seen another one in Shepherd's Bush, which is north of here. And if we didn't have the InLink, we wouldn't have WiFi, as there's no way we could afford it.

I used to take a days leave when it was on years ago, but not now. They did a load of USA festive products that are good but the brands I'm looking for (Mr Christmas and Lindy Bowman) don't seem to appear now, maybe later in the year.
