Good news - the rain we had yesterday has blown through this morning (last bit of drizzle fizzled out as I was commuting, now glorious sunshine!) so it should get brighter in the UK over the course of the day
Last year of primary is enough of a transition, without the transition to secondary to come. They seem to be ready to go in DD's class, and their teacher has struggled all year to keep them interested (or teach them anything - she really is better suited to infant classes and the 6th class group just walks all over her, but they know it themselves that she's out of her depth). The latest is the "graduation disco" for 6th class kids in the whole area that "everyone" is going to (and that is run privately, not by the local GAA club that kids used to go to as they gave up earlier this year on running discos) - DD wants me to queue for tickets tonight and I am trying to find out which other mugs parents have actually agreed their children can go as well.
Not a lot done for Christmas recently, I updated my master spreadsheet (budget and giftlist combined) and added in the 2 new babies expected by then. And I am making reasonable progress on scarf #5 (I'm about halfway done on the knitting), I sat and did some watching tv last night as well as on the train commuting this week. I'll have 7 months to do another 9 scarves and finish #3 once this one is finished. (#3 is a pattern to follow and in black wool, so I can't really do it at night, but I've found it works well as a car passenger on long trips so we have a few coming up I will be able to make good progress on).
