I'm over the confirmation (but need sleep to recover) - DD had a great day though!! And she loved the trip to the Gaeltacht (Irish college) with school a couple of weeks ago too (that meant DH and I had to drive 4 hours away and stay in a very quiet hotel nearby in awful weather for 2 nights - but she got there and enjoyed it and had no issues, and school recognized that we had done that for her, big time!). Work is absolutely manic still, but I can see some light coming at the end of the tunnel. DH work also manic - we talked this morning about how we've both been going at 120% the past 8 months. But we're trying to work on some exercise, eating at least moderately healthy, and getting more rest for the next few weeks to get back on track (I went up a stone again!).
I really must start to think about this Christmas a little - my planning has fallen apart on looking ahead (Christmas and other things), and I need to get back on track or it won't happen or will be manically stressful for everyone, which we don't need.
DH is flatly refusing to admit to DD the Christmas secret, he reckons she knows well (probably) but I'm worried that she's going into secondary school in September and may have a tiny amount of still believing, and be lambasted for it at some stage (and she's going to have a hard enough time as it is).
But we have agreed that we are staying at home this year, and doing the Christmas Eve swim again (I think DH really enjoyed it as a "start of the holidays" event, even if he only held towels). The problem this year is that 24th is a Monday, so theoretically both of us need to work the morning. I might just take it off anyway.
MrsMad, sorry to hear about Percy, at least it sounds like he didn't suffer.
Woolly, sorry to hear about the wifi problems, although I like the "accidental breakfasts" solution!!
And sorry to hear about all you ladies who are under the weather - I hope the sunshine today bleaches all those bugs to oblivion!!
