@drspouse I can’t imagine they’d have changed recipe for a limited run so going to take a guess it’s the —awful— new stuff Sad

TobleroneBoo · 05/10/2017 11:29

I'm spending the day in bed after bleeding and cramps at 13 weeks pregnant, so I'm trying to distract myself by getting a head start on my Christmas shopping

Any pointers on the following:

  1. good brand make up for reasonable prices or sets that can be split
  2. a nice gift for somebody who has just renovated a home
  3. a nice colour purse that I can add to a hamper ( pref under £10)

Thanks in advance!

drspouse · 05/10/2017 11:30

@Fooffighter OK I'll resume the "nice chocolate bar" search!

LikeSilver · 05/10/2017 11:40

@Toblerone - NYX do excellent liquid lipsticks and mascara, Makeup Revolution stuff is very good for the price, Sleek also. MUA is bargainous but a bit hit and miss - I find their powder and highlighter fine but their lipsticks don't last.

Hope all is well Flowers

Toblerone Flowers

For the renovated house gift, if you can stretch to it I’d go for a Diptyque candle. Always treat myself to one when I move house Smile. Or True Grace candles are also lovely but about half the price.

Jessiegirl · 05/10/2017 11:52

Just preordered the Big Lol doll on Smyths website. I think a few posters had been looking to find out when it was available.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 05/10/2017 11:54

I'm regularly checking smyths but not had any luck yet

TobleroneBoo · 05/10/2017 12:01

Thanks all, and thanks for the suggestions

Gutted I seemed to have missed the retro cadburys on tesco!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 05/10/2017 12:06

Went to use my card today to find that it's been cloned and my account has been emptied...luckily it should be relitively simple to get it back but could take 2 weeks....if we could pause the thread for two weeks then I'd really appreciate it WinkWink

What a week!

Kez84 · 05/10/2017 12:06

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I've just been Into B&M and got dd a light up barbie rainbow princess for £4.99. It seems to be £14.99 everywhere else.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 05/10/2017 12:06

Toblerone hope everything is ok xx

Jessiegirl · 05/10/2017 12:10

Tell sorry it's only showing available in Northern Ireland at the minute. Maybe it'll be more widely available this week.

TobleroneBoo · 05/10/2017 12:11

Thank you Lego and I hope your bank gets sorted, what a nightmare! Any ideas why it's happened?

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2017 12:18

Nightmare, Lego. Have you bought anything from a foreign website or anything? How frustrating.

TobleroneBoo · 05/10/2017 12:26

Recommending Olive & Sage - not very bargainous but some lovely bits! X

TobleroneBoo · 05/10/2017 12:27

PinglePongle · 05/10/2017 12:28

Morrisons xmas slots are open (I'm a delivery pass holder so not sure if open to all yet)

singadream · 05/10/2017 12:29

thank you @llamacorn - going to look at them now

BadgerFace · 05/10/2017 12:30

My bilibo arrived - it is much bigger than I had anticipated! I was expecting something scooter helmet size for some reason...

A good tip for the Playmobil Christmas house if you can be bothered to wait a year to gift it is to buy it in the January sales. I bought one two years ago for £14 and then split the contents into a reuseable advent calendar the following December. I thought I'd get away with reusing it each year but DD has asked for a new one this year and I sucummbed... The Christmas house gets played with year round though so good longevity.

Cupoteap · 05/10/2017 12:37

Nooo that terrible x

bunningsbunny · 05/10/2017 12:37

Anyone getting playmobil pyramids or castles or even just schools or hospitals etc - B&M usually have a set of all the Scooby Doo gang for about £6 or £7 that has people that are about the same size as Playmobil people. Certainly similar enough in size for them all to be played with together in the same pyramid etc.

They're a great addition - ds2 had them several years ago and they still come out on adventures as they can add a completely different spin to the games that can be played (and there's usually a Scooby Doo DVD going cheap on Amazon that will have Scooby and the gang at a pyramid/castle/hospital/school/etc to add to it to inspire further ideas if they're not already very familiar with the series, and to turn the present into a set).

I've just checked and B&M have 2 scooby sets now - one for £6 with ghouls in, or the regular set for £8

Another Pact Coffee code for whoever wants one: SARAHJA-C0E37D

www.pactcoffee.com

For anyone new, this means you will get a big bag of coffee for £1.95, and free postage. Can tailor to the way you/recipient of your gift make coffee. You will be given a new code and if you post that here the next person can use it x

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 05/10/2017 12:43

THAnks for feedback re: Playmobil Dinosaur - I think I might look out for one of the larger sets for her to share with DD6 as they're just starting to engage in play together. A bit overwhelmed by all the choice mind you!!
