I'm guessing that yes you have to pay the higher price as that's the latest price that's advertised. The green ranger dragonzord that my son wants was £40 yesterday and is now £80. Everywhere else it's around 50 🤔 I know where I won't be buying it....

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 27/09/2017 07:44

So today was my day to hit Smyths, and I'd even put ds into pre-school for an extra hour.

And...we've all had norovirus overnight and are currently barely able to stand let alone drive/shop. Argggggh!

OvO · 27/09/2017 07:55

Fairy, if you show your email (on phone or s print out) they usually honour the reserved cheaper price. Always have for me.

The first time I queried it I emailed Argos and was told to do that, so now I just fib and say I emailed HQ and they said to show proof and I could have it at the lower price.

SHOUTY WARNING ABOUT ARGOS 3 FOR 2 - one of the two things I was interested in, the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage has gone up from £74.99 yesterday to £99.99 today Angry

Oreocrumbs · 27/09/2017 07:59

I have 3 things reserved at argos but one isn't included in the 3 for 2. The one thing I actually wanted.

It would have been £67 from Argos for the 3, but I've bought 2 of them direct from playmobil using the 20% code that was posted here a week or so ago, that still works and the other toy that I was going to buy from argos had been inflated from £20 to £30. So presuming that goes back down when the offer ends I will have paid £68 for the 3 toys but I also got a free DVD and free gift from playmobil so I think that will cover the extra £1!

I'm really disappointed with argos. I don't expect them to charge bottom line and then 3 for 2 but the hikes they have put on are taking the Micky a bit.

Boots 3 for 2 seems to have fair prices I've ordered a few bits from there, and smyths £10 off each £50 seems to be the best deal around currently.

I was at smyths yesterday mid morning (Durham) and it was ok. Busy for a week day and everyone had a trolley piled high, but there were lots of staff and they seemed to be restocking constantly. It was well managed and nobody was fraught so it was an ok experience and no faffing at the till it was just a straight discount.

Fairytoad · 27/09/2017 08:05

Thanks OVO thats what I'm going to do. Hope you all feel better soon ItsNice - I am taking DS with me to Smyths today as don't have another choice, only going for kidizoom and pop up pirate game I am going to ask someone if they can get them for me and put behind the till so he doesn't see

OhHolyFuck · 27/09/2017 08:29

Of the 3 things I reserved, only one on the 3for2 so not bothering picking them up

DumbledoresArmy · 27/09/2017 08:30

At Argos if you bought a 2 for £15 & they're on 3 for 2 could you get another toy for free if it is under £15?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 27/09/2017 08:40

DD1 has decided she would like a scooter so need a good deal on one that will last her. She's going to be 9 in Nov and just over 130cm tall. Quite a few of her friends have those 3 wheel ones which would probably be better as she hasn't got great balance! Anybody able to help? She hasn't had one before!

nickdrakeslovechild · 27/09/2017 09:09

I did an argos click and collect for 3 things last night which have now gone up in price!, my collection email shows each for £6.49 but now the website is £8.99 3 for 2. Anyone know if I am going to get them for £6.49 3 for 2?

nickdrakeslovechild · 27/09/2017 09:20

Just spoke to Argos head office, they will not honour the 6.49 price on the deal. There are 2 options, you pay the cheaper price but not on 3 for 2, or pay the higher price on 3 for 2. Not happy.

Llamacorn · 27/09/2017 09:26

Is that for the enchantimals nick? They were still showing at £6.49 at 8 o clock this morning so must have only just gone up in price.
I only reserved an enchantimals set, a lol doll and a stupid wubble bubble so I don't think I'll even bother picking up.

Annoyingly, the main thing I want from smyths isn't in stock at my nearest store (which isn't even that near tbh!) which is a pain as its £100.

Thank you to pp who mentioned the boots star gift - I was looking at the nails inc face masks for dd, might just get that bigger set if it's down to £20.

Matilda2013 · 27/09/2017 09:29

Has everyone double checked the items they wanted on 3 for 2? The furby I want has no 3 for 2 sign but when you click on it and go to special offers its in the 3 for 2 as purchase 3 selected toys and receive the cheapest toy free

Purdyandwheezy · 27/09/2017 09:30

Regarding the Argos 3 for 2 and 2 for £15, I had a few things in my basket yesterday under the 2 for £15. Checked today and 3for 2 has been applied instead bringing the total from £68 to £67. Not great!
Someone mentioned a playmobil code for 20% earlier, does anyone have it to hand? I think that's the best way forward now for me. So disappointed in Argos and smyths this year.

nickdrakeslovechild · 27/09/2017 09:30

Yep the enchantimals, he said there has been a problem with website pricing Hmm

Oreocrumbs · 27/09/2017 09:39

The discount code I used on playmobil website this morning. In red at the bottom of the picture.

just noticed in the b&q website they have a clearance on lots of Xmas stuff. Really nice individual baubles/tree decorations 50-70% off. Maybe worth a trawl through here

Whattodowithaminute · 27/09/2017 09:56

Thanks for the toyella link, stocking presents and niece and nephew sorted!

TheOnlyPink · 27/09/2017 10:07

Festive Irish shoppers, Debenhams have some offers on toys. Pokemon clip n carry belt is €20 in most places I've tried, but it's €10.50 in Debenhams atm. Both my ds want one, so kinda feels like I got one free!

drspouse · 27/09/2017 10:09

If anyone wants a £10 off £50 spend at Habitat I got two vouchers with my order, don't think I'll use them before 5th Nov.

Still on my list - Christmas PJs for all the DCs (two of mine and two DNs). Usually get Boden but they still have Halloween patterns at the moment.
Birthday present for DN who will be 14 end Nov, she is a little immature, have no real ideas!
Christmas books ditto (but I may get her a box set of Agatha Christie or another slightly less adult mystery - I remember starting to like those at this age).
Foodie gifts for two sets of adult friends/relations
Birthday present for my DM whose birthday is Jan (and probably more Christmas presents, she always says I buy really good presents which means the pressure is on!)
Christmas present for my goddaughter who is 4, I have often got her clothes in the past but feel a bit mean doing that every time! Could get her the same Christmassy book I'm getting a couple of others (Jolly Christmas Postman).

Decided on but still to buy:
Indie cinema membership for DH (this is his "something you want" but he doesn't know he wants it yet!)
Local art gallery membership for DM
Book for DH and DF (same one for both), waiting for a price drop on Amazon
Remote control car for DS (think I know which one)
Really noisy toy motorbike for DD (checking for Smyth's sale)
Book for DD's godfather's son and same for DD (waiting for price drop)
Magazine subscriptions for DS and DD (to get nearer the time)
Bunk beds for DS birthday (if we had somewhere to hide them we could get them now - we've decided to get them for his early Jan birthday so we can put them up over Christmas and he can sleep in them for the first time for his birthday).
"Something you need" for DH.

StubbleTurnips · 27/09/2017 10:16

I got 6 Lego sets on 3 for 2, the ones between 20-25 so worked out for us.

However, wanted a bike and scooter (plus a balance bike) and only the balance bike is in stock / includes. Certain scooters and bikes are have been excluded with no rhyme or reason so we'll get them elsewhere. Disappointing this year.

drspouse · 27/09/2017 10:18

TL;DR
Please tell me what you're getting teen girls (younger/less mature) and also teen boys would be helpful too.
And mums!

Also any foodie ideas! Beyond the PACT coffee which I'm all over!

IceCreamIceCream · 27/09/2017 10:46

Does anyone have any thoughts on playmobil 123 vs happyland vs Sylvianian families or similar for a 2.5 dd?

She seems to be on the cusp of imaginative play so think she will enjoy a play set but not sure which to go for. We have the playmobil take along farm and Noah's ark which are lovely but the selection from them isn't as great although they do have the suburban home!

wornoutboots · 27/09/2017 11:00

If you didn't have anything like them I'd say pick happyland, it's got a larger available range.

but if you have playmobil123 I'd get more of that to add to what you already have.

(don't make my mistakes, we now have 4 different similar types who don't fit the others' buildings/vehicles etc)

JangleJangleJangle · 27/09/2017 11:02

Shopkins playsets make me want to cry.

Plastic tat for ££££

I'm sure half of it will end up scattered around her room and never played with.

Sorry - this is the opposite of a Bargin!
