Isadora-you can link them to your phone, spotify playlists, radio, smart TVs & ask lots of questions. If you've never seen one it will be at least 2-3 hours of fun on Christmas Day!

Haudyerwheesht · 16/09/2017 22:46

I don't understand at all what Alexa or Dots do. Like what technology do you need to go with them? What do they actually do?

JangleJangleJangle · 16/09/2017 22:48

I would love to get 9yo dd1 Hogwarts castle Lego set for Xmas but it's so expensive. It wouldn't actually be a main gift as she wants a new tablet - so it would just be an extra I'd like to build with her 😂

Has anyone ever brought the fake Lego sets from Aliexpress etc? Are they any good?

Isadora2007 · 16/09/2017 22:49

@buckeejit thanks.
I've now ordered the bundle for our house and two dots as well with £30 using the HELLO30 offer. One for my sister and BIL and the other for ds who is 20.

RJnomore1 · 16/09/2017 22:59

Tentative, try going back in and ordering a different one tomorrow? Last year it only let me order them individually.

ReindeerPoop · 16/09/2017 23:17

I'm so many years behind you all on the hotel chocolat front... what do I do? Order tasting club and then immediately cancel?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 16/09/2017 23:21

Gah! Bloody fire engine is on my list of things to buy and I've bloody missed it 😭

JesusDontWantMeForASunbeam · 16/09/2017 23:22

Excellent thread title 😂

yumyumpoppycat · 16/09/2017 23:41

Thanks for the thread Reastie

Lego friends calendar is OOS but looks like they expect more. 3 children so would have been perfect! Expensive but they get a lot of pleasure from them - probably more than from one £25 lego set. We carefully opened and reused an old star wars and lego friends ones a few times now - all the pieces are in mini envelopes behind their doors to stop them falling out. We have also done smiggle where all 3 share for the past 2 years but I think we are done with that now.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/09/2017 23:43

Oh no steppedon -maybe it will come back in stock, or stay half price and go on 3 for 2 if Tesco do that, would only be a little more?

yumyumpoppycat · 16/09/2017 23:51

Hauder dots and echos understand your voice and respond to questions like siri on an iPhone, it can connect to your amazon account and can for example play audio books you have purchased through amazon, or play music in your account (from when you buy cds from amazon that also with downloads), you can also enable apps so that it can play trivia or quiz type games (yes Sire is excellent), or tune into any radio stations via the internet (dp listens to his home town's local station), you can also ask it for a news round up or the weather and it can do very simplistic internet searches.

Haudyerwheesht · 17/09/2017 02:55

Thank so yumy so it's a stand alone thing? What's an Alexa then???

Mallowmarshmallow · 17/09/2017 03:45

What is the hotel chocolat offer please?

TheDrsDocMartens · 17/09/2017 04:24

Chocolate oranges £1 in Co-op

Deploycharitygoats · 17/09/2017 04:27

Thanks for the Matalan codes Snausage!

I'm sure that Playmobil veterans will cope with this, but I assembled the fire engine for DN last year and it took FOREVER. With young children, I'd really recommend putting the bloody thing together first (maybe starting this month Wink)

IceLemonGin · 17/09/2017 06:19

Has anyone seen any deals on playdoh?

Also looking out for a wooden dolls cot/crib if anyone spots a deal

PamelaEwing · 17/09/2017 06:26

Thanks Reastie,
Snausage pls can you delist the Matalan code, I've scrolled back but can't seem to find it on the last thread?? Thanks!

Wheelycote · 17/09/2017 06:33

SideOrderofSprouts · 17/09/2017 06:40

Jojos bows are still 5 for £5 in Claire's. Instore only

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 17/09/2017 06:56

I hope I ordered 2 fire engines, neither of which have specific people attached to them yet, so would be happy to post to you if you wanted to buy one of them? Not sure how big the box re. postage costs is but could let you know when it arrives.

Wilko's had their Christmas stock in my local one yesterday.

PamelaEwing · 17/09/2017 07:16

Ooh the Asda toy sale is fab! Just got the Playmobil children's hospital half price down from £60 to £30. I've been waiting for this to drop for a long time!

Whoever was after that Playmobil treehouse, its reduced from £49 to £42 (not a massive bargain) but at least its in stock if you needed it?

Also a Playmobil truck with speedboat half price at £17.50

And loads of Sylvanian Families bits and bobs reduced.

Reastie · 17/09/2017 07:22

Shestood that's weird, maybe it's area related...I'll try again and see...
