You could do it like a tablecloth magic trick Grin Wilf loves the magic of Christmas so I think he will be beside himself that Buddy has changed his duvet. When buddy made us breakfast I thought he was going to cry and he still talks about it!

Mrsmadevans · 20/09/2017 18:24

Firefly Iove your name anagram lol!
We are a pair well met in the xmas dieting and scoffing then my dear , I keep thinking about things I must buy for xmas. M&S cheese tasters are a must , I must have stollen, butter pastry mince pies and shortbread bisks. Thats 3 musts so it must be important mwahhaha

Mrsmadevans · 20/09/2017 18:25

Am loving the greyhound in pjs and the Reeces advent calendar ohhhh another must for me to get methinks

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2017 19:00

I love the idea of a greyhound in jim jams. Photo needed! 🐶

I make mince pies on Christmas Eve, we eat shop bought (bakery section) ones until that point!

We don't do the elf either...neither of us can be bothered! #lazyparenting Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2017 19:38

Ooh. Just had this email about decorations from where I bought our tree:

Decorations

We don't need anymore, but I thought others may fancy a look!

MuddlingThroughLife · 20/09/2017 19:39

I always put the christmas bedding on while kids and dh are in school. We decorate the house first Saturday of December so day before I get the festive bedding on and leave something like festive bed socks/festive slippers on all the beds. 🎗

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2017 19:55

That's a good idea. We do the kids' bedding on a Friday, so it can go on the beds on 1st Dec.

FireflyGirl · 20/09/2017 20:14

Picked my Matalan snow globe up today. Not had chance to look at it yet, though. Am saving it for tomorrow.

We also decorate the first weekend in December, and I keep the Christmas linens with the decorations so they all come out at the same time.

We have an elf, but he also doesn't do anything but sit on his shelf. We obviously got one of the well behaved ones Grin

I am also eagerly awaiting a picture of a greyhound in Christmas pyjamas!

ClashCityRocker · 20/09/2017 21:00

A greyhound in pj's sounds like something I need in my life....

Super excited, les miserable came up on conversation t'other day and I mentioned to dh how much I would love to see it at the west end.....hes only gone and booked it, and a hotel, for me and my mam for Christmas! He's a good egg, and means my mams present is sorted. Super excited!

Got a few more bits online today and have a rough idea of what I'm going to buy when.

We have some Waitrose vouchers kicking about to put towards the food so will get the turkey and some treats from there.

Feeling oddly in control so far!

AhYaBastart · 20/09/2017 21:17

Will definitely post a pic of her in Christmas Pjs as soon as I can! She only wears pjs when it’s really cold as she has very little body fat. The rest of the year she just has a blanket. Will be on the lookout for a Christmas blanket!!

Where do you all get your Christmas bedding from btw? I usually buy mine from Asda/Primark at the last minute Blush

Clash that sounds fab!! Have fun!

Annwithnoe · 20/09/2017 22:37

Could you put the Christmas sheet on the bed under the ordinary sheet? Then you could take off the corners while the child is sleeping, and roll them off the middle of the sheet. The one underneath would be warm so less likely to wake them.
And if you do a duvet switcheroo, lie on it for a bit to warm it.

I was musing whether I could wallpaper dd's room while she sleeps on Christmas Eve. Just a feature wall if that make me sound less crazy not working, is it?

I'm sitting in the airport waiting for a plane- I should have gone last night but DH only got home late off his flight (and interrupted a committee meeting at our kitchen table😀).

Must remember NOT to get another Oreo pencil case on my way home, as Santa got 1 on the last trip, went to put it away and found he'd already bought it on a previous trip! The Oreos will be eaten fine, but DD has no use for 2 extra pencil cases!😳

Next trip I will start on my cards - this one I have minutes of a couple of committees to write up. September is mad for organisation of different groups!

Wet and miserable here today, a real feeling of winter coming.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

BiddyPop · 21/09/2017 05:54

I have plans to decorate DD's windows while she's asleep - oh, for about 6 years now. One of these years, it WILL happen!🤣 I have gel clings and snowflake stickers and snowdrift puffy material in a bag all ready to go....

Annwithnoe · 21/09/2017 06:15

Biddypop I love that idea!

NoWordForFluffy · 21/09/2017 06:23

So do I! It'd go down better with the kids than swapping bedding overnight too (they are very attached to their owl and Dino bedding!).

HandbagCrazy · 21/09/2017 07:56

I've woken up feeling festive today, as though I should see fairy lights and trees on my way to work.

My Christmas prep is on hold as my niece has made a very early entrance to the world (she was due beginning of December) so dsis and dnephew are needing a lot of extra help just now.

I love that everyone's plans are coming together though, and that the Christmas topic has become so busy!

SunSeptember · 21/09/2017 08:19

firefly is that the nutcracker globe

FireflyGirl · 21/09/2017 08:23

Gosh, that is an early entrance Handbag! Maybe she was worried about her birthday being overshadowed by Christmas. Sending lots of love and hugs your way (I assume they're okay on the Christmas board, and I won't have my MN membership withdrawn!)

Things I will not be mentioning to my husband #1 - I've just spent £40 on christmassy air fresheners from the White Company... Blush They are lovely, though, and they last ages!

FireflyGirl · 21/09/2017 08:25

Yes, Sun. I'm just deciding whether to go get it out of the car in my PJs and risk running into the neighbours and just throw caution to the wind, or act like a grown-up and get dressed first...

NoWordForFluffy · 21/09/2017 08:49

Wow Handbag. I hope everything is OK with your niece. That's really early!

We have suspected chicken pox in the house. Argghhhh!

HairsprayBabe · 21/09/2017 09:22

Gosh that is early handbag sending good thoughts to your DNeice and her family!

DP has an interview today! Festive Fingers Crossed all!

SunSeptember · 21/09/2017 09:32

Did you get anything else in M? Am going to have a look today.

FireflyGirl · 21/09/2017 09:39

I had a voucher for £5 off a £25 spend, so I bought a couple of baubles as well. Someone on the bargain thread got some lovely Elf delivery boxes, 3 for £10, that might be worth keeping an eye out for.

SunSeptember · 21/09/2017 10:17

I have 10% off but on line am going in to look at quality then will order, but i also want the larger dome nutcracker light and nutcracker bedding....i go crackers at xmas Grin

FridgeCut · 21/09/2017 13:16

Hope all is well handbag, she's obviously just excited to see the run up to christmas.

Washing machine committed suicide by drowning this morning. £850 for a new one, I could cry.
