Christmas puddings are steaming!

I love those leggings!

Muddling, bet it was lovely to have some normalcy and a breather :)

No results yet fluffy ☹ He's doing good though. Wish his appetite would pick up but we were warned it would take 3-6 months to come back.

Right peachy you ready for this?!

I bought:

  • A pretty lantern that holds a tea light.
  • A selection of bed socks to be left out on the beds with new pj's on tree decoration day, and a selection of festive socks from the elves on christmas eve which we will all wear out to the in-laws.
  • Gingerbread slippers to go with my fleecy gingerbread onsie.
  • 4 festive doggie toys for my mum's dogs.
  • A festive fleecy onsie for ds.
  • A festive teeshirt for ds.
  • A festive jumper and boppers for dd2.
  • A Santa legs hat and turkey hat for me and dh to go with our inflatable Santa and turkey outfits.
  • 4 sets of window clings to go in Windows either side of front door.
  • Tin of Jacob's crackers.
  • Bean boozle to play at our christmas party.
  • JML simply straight brush for friends birthday.
  • Dd2's wrapping paper - it's blue(her fave colour) with silver snowflakes and let it snow written on it.
  • Power bank for dd2.
  • Back scratcher for ds stocking.
  • Minecraft annual for ds.
  • Card games for kids for ds.
  • A crate style christmas eve box. I like the idea of everything poking out of it.
  • Elf treats consisting of - festive jam jar glasses with straws x3, J20 flavoured lip balms (pack of 4 so one each for the kids and one for me!), marshmallow fluff for dd1 and a Reese's snowman for dd2.
  • Some Halloween bits.

I can barely move around my tiny bedroom for all the christmas stuff in it! x

MuddlingThroughLife · 19/10/2017 22:39

Why does it always post as one huge paragraph?! I listed everything carefully and it's come out as one big unreadable mess grrr!

FridgeCut · 19/10/2017 22:41

Wow! Where did you get the gingerbread slippers? They sound awesome.

Looks good and listy from here :)

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2017 23:35

Good going, Muddling!

I'm glad your DS is doing well. Is there anything that you can tempt him with, food-wise, or has he been left totally uninterested?

Really zipping away!

Well done to miniMuddling - I hope he’s enjoying school.

I visited our local M&S food hall today and fondled the musical biscuit tin Xmas Grin I might buy it if it gets reduced

I need to crack on and bake my cake. The fruit has been steeping for a month. I also fancy making mincemeat but only DH eats mince pies so I think I’d just be poncing for the sake of it.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2017 02:02

I couldn't find the musical tin the other day. I got mine half price last year!

Funny how two of you leapt in to do the countdown today!

MuddlingThroughLife · 20/10/2017 07:49

The gingerbread slippers were from Matalan 😊

He's just not interested in food. He gets excited by something then when I give it to him he just looks at it, has a nibble then says he can't eat it. He's still being tube fed 11 hours overnight so I'm permanently knackered because I'm up at 3.30am every morning to change the feed then up again at 7am to take it down and give his meds. Hoping to return to work first week of November, gawd help me!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2017 08:05

Flowers to you Muddling. It's been tough all round, hasn't it?

CbeebiesAddict · 20/10/2017 08:08

Hugs muddling it sounds really tough. Fingers crossed his appetite comes back soon.

I am spending two hours on buses today so treated myself to this :)

It is pay day for me today so I will be doing the final bulk of my shopping this weekend and a few days next week.

In two months time I will be done with work, and be fully immersed in the christmas spirit!

Mrsmadevans · 20/10/2017 10:50

Day 66!!!!!

MuddlingThroughLife · 20/10/2017 14:50

Thank you everyone xx

sjd84 · 20/10/2017 19:27

MuddlingThroughLife going off on a tangent and I'm sure this would have already been thought of, but do they do bigger bags of feed or could you ask for a reservoir to decent two bags into, so you don't have to get up in the middle of the night? Flowers

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2017 20:48

That's a good idea, sjd. 🙂

MuddlingThroughLife · 20/10/2017 21:58

The feed comes in 500ml bottles which fit a giving set - a tube that attaches to the bottle, gets fed through a machine and then is attached to the feeding tube in his nose, so no way of decanting into another bottle. He is currently on 11 hours overnight from 8pm until 7am which is 660mls in total. I'm hoping his weight is stable or gone up when we go to clinic on Tuesday so we can hopefully reduce the feed a bit more. If air gets into the tube you have to change that with the feed which is a potch in the dark in the early hours so I set the dose to be given as 440mls for the first bottle and it beeps when it reaches that amount. Then I change the bottle and set the machine to infuse. I then take it down at 7am and pop his medicines down the tube at the same time x

FridgeCut · 20/10/2017 22:06

Muddling I hope Father Christmas brings you something awesome, you definitely deserve it.

Mrsmadevans · 20/10/2017 22:15

Muddling, some of the families I used to work with used 1 litre Flocare bottles for the night time feeds , I don't now if you are able to get them where you live though my dear .

Mrsmadevans · 20/10/2017 22:18

Those Nasogastric / nasojejunal tubes are horrible for him and you .... Bless you both xx

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2017 00:32

It's properly galloping along now!

MuddlingThroughLife · 21/10/2017 08:02

Aw thanks fridge 😊

Mrs I'm not sure if our hospital trust does those. I will ask the dietician on Tuesday when we are in clinic.

MuddlingThroughLife · 21/10/2017 13:53

Been to town with dd2. I got myself a lovely gingerbread christmas jumper, most of my family christmas cards and the Boots gift guide to have a nosy at. Oh and I walked past the Caerphilly couple from goggle box in Debenhams lol x

Mrsmadevans · 21/10/2017 18:39

Muddling is your ds under ABHU care? (Just wondering because you said you saw the Caerphilly couple from Gogglebox lol) they were who I worked for in the CCN team and we used the 1 lt Flocare bottles in the trust my dear If you are under the enteral feeding team in Risca then I am sure Mo Hodges or Sian or Sandra will arrange it for you sweetie . No need to say anymore about it just giving you a heads up .
Awful day here today went to see a beautiful flower festival in my local church I was so moved by the beautiful displays .
Day 65 OMG ! 9 weeks tomoz christmas eve !!!

CbeebiesAddict · 21/10/2017 18:46

Not sure if there is anything I can do to help muddling but I am one of the paediatric managers in ABUHB so drop me a PM if you have any concerns that I could look into :)
