What do you want for Christmas?

Morning,

I have a lot of family who live a fair distance away, and a husband who doesn't like to think about presents too much, so I'm always asked to put together a list of ideas. Plus my birthday is right before Christmas. I've thought of a few things for this year - a particular Morton Brown hand cream, a couple of books, but now I'm stuck.

What are you asking for?

Ooh christmasunicorn what do the Boden ones wash like? I always ask for brushed cotton red plaid PJ's for Christmas and every single pair has shrunk including quite expensive ones (it's not me growing, honest Wink)

whiteviolet · 16/08/2017 21:05

Ive hardly spent anything on myself this year so my Christmas list is quite big!

-Aforementioned brushed cotton red plaid PJ's that don't shrink
-Some more blue Cornishware
-Warm wool socks
-New fountain pen
-Willow obelisk for next year's sweet peas
-Decent hairdryer
-Smart wool/wool blend winter coat (but I'll be 8 months pregnant by Christmas so might not be the best gift!)
-A go-with-everything smart evening/clutch bag
-Hand turned wooden fruit bowl

christmasunicorn · 17/08/2017 08:12

white mine have never shrunk. If anything the seemed to stretch with me during my last pregnancy Blush

73kittycat73 · 18/08/2017 01:51

I would like nice soft PJs and slippers. I'm sure I'll think of more. Xmas Grin

iamapixiebutnotaniceone · 18/08/2017 01:52

An hour to myself!

2017SoFarSoGood · 18/08/2017 02:39

My jaw dropped on seeing this thread, and am aghast at all of you with lists at the ready! It is only August.

I am preparing to downsize and have been mortified by the excess of stuff I personally own. 17 black bags of mostly designer clothes donated, and 40 pairs of high heels, to name but a portion of my stuff. Some with tags still attached.

I shall be asking for a reduction in my avarice, I fear. I do so love stuff!

GeekyWombat · 18/08/2017 03:42

Fluffy slipper socks, a Weird Fish Macaroni hoodie, a stack of books and comics, the complete series of Parks and Recreation on DVD and a couple of Disney Pandora beads from generous relations (I know the latter is a real no no for the MN hive mind but I am genuinely thrilled they're finally starting to sell them in the UK in the run up to Christmas). Also one of those metre long boxes of Jaffa Cakes - it's a family tradition for Boxing Day tv watching.

Don't need all of it but any of these things will make me happy.

Oogle · 18/08/2017 09:41

Vouchers for MAC
Liz Earle stuff
Money towards my personal training sessions because I'm going to need extra after Christmas excess
Bottle of Sipsmiths
Some fancy chocs
New PJs
Any house-y stuff I think of as we're slowly decorating

VanillaSpiceCandle · 20/08/2017 14:08

Reading this has inspired me - to add more to my list! But I'd really like a voucher for a pedicure, set of metallic tumblers from Oliver Bonus and a pair of black ankle boots.

Knope2020 · 20/08/2017 14:10

A decent watch
Perfume

SheepyFun · 20/08/2017 14:13

New bike pannier - mine is failing, but I think I can nurse it through to Christmas. We're a gift list family, so I can specify exactly which one I want!

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 20/08/2017 16:14

Orange Matchmakers and some cozy socks. Ooh and some fairy lights to go above the bed.

QueenofallIsee · 20/08/2017 16:22

I shattered the screen on my Kindle and want to replace it with the new 'Alexa' enabled one. Really coveting a set of Spectrum make up brushes, a Protected Species parka coat, a light grey cashmere snood, slouchy boots....I am an advertisers dream to be fair

Blackandpurple · 20/08/2017 17:22

DH and I dont buy each other gifts. Haven't done so for 16 years. Dad will give me money and so will BIL. But its not a huge amount so ill but wine with it.

I really don't like receiving gifts.

NameChanger22 · 20/08/2017 17:26

I'd quite like a tablet. Just a cheap one would do. I think I'll buy myself one.

Knope2020 · 20/08/2017 18:21

Amazon kindle fire is £49
Decent tablet

LockedOutOfMN · 20/08/2017 18:21

I think I might want a Kindle.

missyB1 · 20/08/2017 18:27

White company pjs
Perfume
Hotel chocolate chocs
A nice jumper

HackAttack · 20/08/2017 18:34

I'm loving the ideas, v helpful, I'm thinking hotel chocolat stuff

WreckTangled · 20/08/2017 18:38

I would like (but won't get!):

Leather uggs
A Fitbit charge HR
A Joules rain jacket

RubyGoat · 20/08/2017 18:42

Perfume - I've just discovered Chloe & I love it.
Slippers - I like the proper sheepskin ones, with the wool fleece still inside.
Possibly a Fitbit or something similar.
Money to spend on books for my Kindle...

kingfishergreen · 21/08/2017 14:50

Lego I can fervently recommend John Lewis, sheepskin slippers, they were about £60, they're not online (yet?) but looked like these, but a bit nicer:

They are ludicrously warm and cosy.

Alternatively, DH has the men's version of these ones, and he loves them: www.celticandco.com/sheepskin-slippers/womens-slippers/sheepskin-slippers-bootee

What do you want for Christmas?
kingfishergreen · 21/08/2017 14:52

I'd like:

A subscription to Cereal magazine
Some of those earthenware Le Creuset cups
A temperature controlled kettle
A small Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin (for my handbag)
A scamp and dude sweatshirt: scampanddude.com/product/adult-super-soft-sweatshirt-coral-leopard/

And world peace, etc.

pinkpetrol · 29/08/2017 22:02

I am just about to have last years xmas pressie. A wood whittling day with David Willis

SuddenBeetE · 29/08/2017 23:03

Oddish- I got the exact thing you're after last Christmas. It's the Klean Kanteen 20z cafe cap insulated cup. A whole pint of coffee hot for hours.
