arini my 10 year old has asked for a Fitbit too, as has her sister who will be 15. I'm looking at getting them both the Fitbit alta but I don't think there are many good offers about. A lot of their friends have them and as my 15 year old will be getting a 'Fitbit' brand one it wouldn't feel as fair getting my 10 yr old a cheaper version. Otherwise I would def be looking at alternatives for the 10yr old. Either in this thread or the last one someone mentioned a fitness tracker from groupon I believe and the reviews were actually really good.

FoofFighter · 24/08/2017 17:08

I recommend the Jawbone Up Move fitness tracker - it's linkable to many other apps like my fitness pal and strava.. and around £10-15 now on Amazon or in B&M.

I am up for the idea of cinema vouchers for the 15yr old boy and 19yr girl for their birthdays (one in a few weeks and one just after Christmas) - I'll just need to figure out which cinema brand is nearest to them.

Christmas is a little more difficult as with £40 to spend and buying on behalf of myself and my sister (we split the dc in the family and buy one larger present rather than each buying smaller things) I feel like I think needs to be a proper present.

I can see how a lot of 19yr old girls would love the metal vanity cases from Argos that a pp posted about, but she doesn't wear make up and isn't really into her appearance at all. She really is very young for her age - more like 15/16 than 19 to be honest.

Llamacorn · 24/08/2017 17:26

What about a movie hamper then jed you and get really cool plastic popcorn boxes from poundworld, put in microwaveable popcorn, or even a popcorn maker if cheap enough (my 15yr old dd loves hers) you can pick a couple of dvds, or the voucher, or even vouchers for Netflix or amazon films if she hasn't already got. You can add sweets etc to bulk it up or games? You could do as big or small as you wish.

Does she have anything like the amazon fire stick here although £40 ATM it regularly goes down to £35 and if she has Netflix it can be really good to watch from her tv, YouTube too. My dd prefers her than the Apple TV as she can get kodi but best checking if she has anything similar first.

Think I'm going to have to spend a little time on the studio website tonight... thanks everyone for all being so on the ball with bargain hunting!

Sixp · 24/08/2017 17:50

Long time lurker on these amazing threads! Can anyone help me find Once Upon A Time merchandise - but not jewellery - for a 10yr old girl?

Llamacorn · 24/08/2017 17:50

Can I ask for anyone who has recommendations for 'building' type toys.
Dd3 will be 9 after Christmas, although she has asd and is mentally quite a bit younger.

She loves Lego, and is a whizz on mine craft. At her OT play session this week, they commented on how good she was with her building skills (matching blocks with printed patterns etc) and that it would be good to try and improve her motor skills.

Can anyone recommend anything? I looked at the playmags linked above (thanks to poster) but think they may be a bit young, she's never really been interested in kinex. Have a few Lego bits to put away for her Xmas, mostly dc girls as she collects those ones. She can fly through a big Lego set by herself so would like something that would keep her interest and not bore her.

Does anything exist?

Wow!!!!! 😍

Llamacorn · 24/08/2017 18:04

sixp vinyl pop do a 'once upon a time' range, you and get them directly from their website or from amazon slightly cheaper. Amazon also have a few other bits and bobs that aren't jewellery, like art prints, clothing, purses etc. I also find Etsy are good for things like that.

Great pics vino can I ask where you got the mermaid brushes from please? Also if you wanted to go with your unicorn/mermaid theme they have a cute sets of 3 suitcases from the works (unicorn or mermaids) £7 each or 2 for £10 and I think the money off code works on top of that.

PamelaEwing · 24/08/2017 18:06

Love it VinoTime !! Especially that the delivery people remember you! Grin

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 24/08/2017 18:11

Ok. I was resisting but I can't stay away.

Vinotime - where was your haul from?

SideOrderofSprouts · 24/08/2017 18:30

Mermaid brushes are eBay/amazon

margaritasbythesea · 24/08/2017 18:50

Llamacorn My DD is 9 and I thought the same thing about the playmags. My building mad ds likes these

You can also get zoobs that connect to Lego although they are not as successful as we thought as we can't work out how to do the three way connection needed for some of the models.

[[www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Dtoys&field-keywords=Brio+builder&tag=mumsnetforum-21 Brio construction]] is also good.

So is making models out of recycled rubbish using double sided sticky tape tbh.

There's 30%off sale items at Lands End today only. Code is on the website.

VinoTime · 24/08/2017 18:57

I've been like Scrooge McDuck raking in all the boxes this week! 😂 The drivers were giving me the same wary, crazy lady looks as last year. One of the women who I got to know on first name terms kind of well was like, 'that'll be you keeping me in a job till Christmas again, hen!'

I DO like to do my bit...

Mermaid brushes were from a seller on eBay - think they came from china and we're only £6.19. Loads of different styles and colours available, which is great because the original woman behind the unicorn brushes sells them for £70 odd Shock I'll see if I can rustle up the link!

Pictures 1 and 3 were The Works and 4 was Lisa Angel YoureAll Smile

Cannot thank the poster who linked the converse sale and discount code enough. DD is going to love her gold shoes, and for £17 I love 'em too!

christmasunicorn · 24/08/2017 19:08

@Sixp yeah I've only ever seen the funko pop figures for Once Upon.... there isn't official merchandise that I'm aware of. As pp said, Etsy is your best bet

VinoTime · 24/08/2017 19:11

Mermaid brushes clicky link. This was the seller I used (there are LOADS) and the brushes are perfect - delivery was super quick too.

Knope2020 · 24/08/2017 19:12

If anyone sees any parks and rec merch that isn't £££££ let me know! 😁
