Hello!

So many people have said they miss the bargain threads that I thought I would have to start EVEN earlier this year.

So here we are!

Happy hunting

I ordered two Minions Megablok advent calendars yesterday from Amazon at £12 each. The kids will love them!

Llamacorn · 29/07/2017 17:17

Can I please join in? I usually like starting early but it's getting harder as my girls are getting older.

Huge thanks for the tip about half price Lego at toysrus, managed to get dd3 some of the new dc girls sets which she loves - batgirl bunker, lenas factory and Harley's dorm. They were out of stock when I first checked but I set up an alert and they came back in the next day. Think I spend about £60 and worth £125 so happy with that, I never got the biggest set as although it was reduced to £49 I'm not sure what her 'big present' will be yet so I'll hold off on that. She received the first dc girls sets for her birthday back in February and plays with them daily.

Thanks also for the hollister tip, I got 2 of the 2 spray sets for £5.60 each which is great as my girls love the sprays. The body wash was a great price too but they have sensitive skin unfortunately.

Tempted by the JJ jumping pug for £18, would be for dd2 who will be 11 in march so she might be a little old for it.

Oh, and to add I'm wanting to do an advent calendar 'hunt' this year - they'll read a clue each morning. I'm finding this quite difficult as I would like it to be cost effective but hard as I have 3.
I'd like to get them Xmas bedding for one day which will probably be the most expensive, other days I can get gingerbread houses, or just do some baking. Perhaps some games on other days? If anyone has any ideas that would be fab thank you Smile

ItsNice, I paid £14.50 for Lego Friends advent calendar last year on 30th October. But I'm not sure whether I bought the 'current ' year or not! Blush

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 29/07/2017 18:55

I know in previous years Lego/fake Lego people have been mentioned as advent fillers-think DS would love this can anyone recommend cheapest way to get some?

Have also added screwball scramble to my huge CCC watch list-looks fun!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 29/07/2017 19:01

Thanks something!

frid · 29/07/2017 19:07

You can get cheapish/around £10 "Lego" character sets on Amazon (also eBay but they're not as good). If you want dirt cheap, just keep an eye out on charity shops

I bought the fake lego via AliExpress last year and was impressed with a few bits and highly disappointed with most of it. I would not recommend it.

yaffle · 29/07/2017 20:02

Amazon have a few of the Lottie dolls reduced to £12.99, Forest Friend , Puddle something or other and another one that I very helpfully can't remember .

ProfAnnieT · 29/07/2017 20:24

TheEntertainer has a good deal on Air Hogs Batmobile Zero G (which goes up walls and on ceilings) - £15 instead of £45 this weekend: link

Equimum · 29/07/2017 20:58

I believe people raved about Wilko 'Lego' last year. DS has a couple of small sets and it all fits together perfectly well. We don't have much genuine Lego (yet) though, so I can't really compare.

TheUnseenAcademic · 29/07/2017 21:14

We have some Wilko Lego- the duplo is fine but the Lego falls apart really easily so we ended up having to superglue pieces together so that they could be played with. I wouldn't buy any more.
Massive thanks to whoever posted about the discount on microscooters (and other outdoor toys) at Smyths. A Micro Sprite arrived today and it's great- difficult to get decent discounts on these so 20% off was much appreciated. The offer is still on:

BikeRunSki · 29/07/2017 21:54

The Wilko Lego baseboards are excellent though, bigger than the genuine ones and about 1/4 of the price.

GinYummy · 29/07/2017 21:57

Thank you for the gap code agnes. Managed to get Christmas pj's for my two dc.

LostMyRubySlippers · 29/07/2017 22:11

Someone bought DS a big box of fake Lego minifigures from Wilko last year- I had looked at them myself, can't recall how much but they weren't expensive & think you got 50 figures

Equimum · 29/07/2017 22:15

Oops, sorry for the bad suggestion then. I know I bought off the back of good comments on here, but we only bought very small kits, so not really a fair test. I fear we may have a request for 'Lego' this year, so will have to get myself clued up.

BikeRunSki · 29/07/2017 22:37

The sctual "Lego" bricks from Wilko are pants though, they don't hold their "snap" power for long.

christmasunicorn · 30/07/2017 08:08

little tikes basketball hoop £17.51
hotel tycoon board game £8.99
Both best price ever according to ccc

WheresTheCoffee · 30/07/2017 08:28

Found you! I'm sure I start earlier and earlier every year..these threads feel like home Grin
