Mother Christmas can now relax, the stealth and the hushed voices are done and we have been visited by Father Christmas for 2016.

I do love it all, but scared bloody stiff I wld wake DD2. But I think she has got away with another year believing. Phew!

DD1 also loved being my elf. Xxx Happy Christmas all... Have fun delivering yours.

all done 😏 smug

Stoneagemum · 24/12/2016 23:50

Finally! Sent ds(16) to bed at 11:30, although at 14 & 16 they are too old to believe the presents under the tree are a surprise on Christmas morning.

I think if they didn't like this I wouldn't of had cooperation on going to bed, but when the response to the question 'when are you going bed?' Was met with if you have things to do I will go now means that they still like finding the gifts appear in the morning

Falalalafffffffttt · 24/12/2016 23:51

Thankfully Ds 6 could sleep through anything so we'll just plop the stocking on his bed before we head up shortly. We've always had them hanging off the stair bannister but I've told him he can open his stocking as soon as he wakes this year without disturbing mummy and daddy. I'm a bloody genius.

BertrandRussell · 24/12/2016 23:53

Dp has finished wrapping before midnight for the first time in 18 years.........

HardLightHologram · 24/12/2016 23:55

He's been! Just finishing off the gin the top 100 Christmas Movies.

HollyAndShit · 24/12/2016 23:58

Having a nightmare here as DD 10 keeps coming down stairs complaining of a sore tummy. Gonna be a long night 😞

guinnessgirl · 24/12/2016 23:58

he's been here too. Thankfully it's not too difficult for us as DS1 (6) is deaf, so you can clatter about in his room all you like so long as it stays dark! One of the few benefits Xmas Wink

rightsofwomen · 24/12/2016 23:59

GO TO SLEEP DS (17). Mama had a very late night last night and an early morning today. I need my zzzzzzz!

MerylPeril · 25/12/2016 00:02

He's been BUT DH has only just started his wrapping

Like every other bloody year! Merry Christmas Xmas Blush

BooeyBaubleHead · 25/12/2016 00:03

He's been and I have buyers guilt! Have been picking up odds and ends for a couple of months but not really registering what I'd already bought. No idea where I'm going to store it all once Christmas is over Blush

megletthesecond · 25/12/2016 00:13

All done here. LP but I can't eat the treats because the biscuits weren't gluten free. So I left some crumbs and binned the rest.

GloGirl · 25/12/2016 00:15

Not yet! Bit of cleaning left and waiting for my Wreath pavlova to finish cooking so I can turn the oven off and leave it to chill overnight..

busyrascal · 25/12/2016 00:18

He's been!!! He had to leave a note to apologise for breaking the Christmas tree lights Grin

Freshprincess · 25/12/2016 00:19

Finally! He's been.

Last minute emergency wrapping of giant Jaffa cake tube I'd forgotten about. I had to pick up all the popcorn crumbs by hand as I couldn't chance the Hoover (note to self no more Xmas eve popcorn).

PromisesPromises · 25/12/2016 00:19

Nope not yet, youngest is asleep but keep catching the eldest rattling about in his room. I believe he's wanting to try and stay awake. No doubt as soon as he falls asleep the other one will waken up as she's a bad sleeper anyway.

NoCapes · 25/12/2016 00:26

He's finally been!
I can go to bed now Xmas Grin
Happy Christmas all!

Honeydragon · 25/12/2016 00:26

My favourite part of Xmas now. Father Christmas has been. Everyone bar me is in bed. I have a drink, crap tv and a bit of peace before non stop again tomorrow.

DropZoneOne · 25/12/2016 00:35

All done! DD age 8 very excited about her new PJ'S that the elves left for her (I don't do the elf on the shelf but I do always do Christmas Jim jams). She fell asleep by 9pm which is pretty good going for her - age 3 she was still wide awake at 11:30 through excitement.

Presents under tree, stocking filled and in position, santa and rudolph food consumed with tell tale crumbs. Off to bed myself now.

Merry Christmas all x

HemanOrSheRa · 25/12/2016 00:47

Oof. He's been now. Thank gawd for that! Is DS asleep? I have no idea, I'm not checking and I've told DP he must NOT open the bedroom door to peek. Night night. Sleep tight. Sweet dreams Smile.

PromisesPromises · 25/12/2016 00:50

Done and dusted, can't wait to see their wee faces in the morning. Some badly needed sleep for me now. Merry Christmas.

Horsegirl1 · 25/12/2016 00:52

All 4 present piles placed. Just waiting of the first of 4 small feet jumping on my head

MadisonAvenue · 25/12/2016 01:00

Been here too, but then he can come at any time of the night because my kids are 19 and 16. It makes the night SO much easier.

I well remember sitting on the floor in our bedroom in the early hours, waiting for our youngest to go to sleep, but trying not to fall asleep myself, so that I could sort out the stockings. The one year I was certain he was asleep so crawled into his dark room and just as I reached for his stocking a little voice said "Mom, what are you doing with my stocking?!"

GloGirl · 25/12/2016 01:17

He's been! And a jingle bell was heard all through the house as I went up to bed. Xmas Wink

Night night Mother Christmases.

stillwantrachelshair · 25/12/2016 01:22

Well having felt very smug all evening as the 7yo & 4yo DC were in bed at 8pm and asleep by 8.10 & 8.02 respectively (I took them for a 4 mile walk today, much further than either of them have walked before - possibly twice as far as the 4yo has walked before), I just took their stockings into the room they are sharing this Christmas and the 7yo just opened her eyes & said "what are you doing in my room"!!! Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to say "tucking you in, like normal", she didn't spot DS' stocking just because of how I had positioned it (complete chance) & I managed to stand at an odd angle with hers behind me. That was a near miss! She is fast asleep again now so I doubt will remember in the morning. I didn't do it any earlier in case either child woke & came down as I hadn't properly finished setting up downstairs.

CakeNinja · 25/12/2016 01:35

He's visited youngest but not the older 2 yet.
Dp is fast asleep and I'm quietly cursing.
Watching a bit of Friday night dinners at the moment but I think I've built up the courage to go for it now. Wish me luck!
