Mother Christmas can now relax, the stealth and the hushed voices are done and we have been visited by Father Christmas for 2016.

I do love it all, but scared bloody stiff I wld wake DD2. But I think she has got away with another year believing. Phew!

DD1 also loved being my elf. Xxx Happy Christmas all... Have fun delivering yours.

He's been here. Downstairs is all ready, I can't decide what to do with dd's pillowcase (I got angry at the woollen fibres in the stocking so decanted into a Christmas pillowcase).

She's 3 and still wakes in the night at least twice so don't want her up at the crack of dawn. Think it might be delivered to our room so she can have it when she comes in at a more appropriate time.

TotalPerspectiveVortex · 24/12/2016 22:21

This is the first year in seven years DSD is at her Mum's tonight, so no need for Santa to come until DP goes to get her in the morning. Sad I'm so sad about it and miss her like crazy, I think this is the last year of her believing - or at least letting us think she does, so next year won't be the same either.

CloudPerson · 24/12/2016 22:30

He's waiting patiently here for our 5 yr old to bloody go to sleep Hmm

Sawbridgeworthmum · 24/12/2016 22:33

Still waiting! They are in bed but I'm not 100percent they are fully asleep. Give it to 11 Xmas Hmm

catsofa · 24/12/2016 22:34

Only 19 month old DS and me here. I've put his empty "sock" at the end of his bed at bedtime while talking about it in a Very Impressed Voice, and removed all other toys from the room. I'll replace it with the full one when I come up to sleep next to him later, and hope he's suitably surprised when he remembers to check on it in the morning.

Have the house to clean still tonight before grandma and grandad come tomorrow, but some bastard is setting off fireworks which is keeping DS from settling.

I'm going to lay out his train set on the living room floor for him to find when we go downstairs - so excited to do my first real xmas with him!

AllTheBabies · 24/12/2016 22:34

Just done! I swear it's my most stressful 20 minutes of the year.

Luckily my 6yo sleeps through anything so the stocking at the end of the bed wasn't too hard.

hiccupgirl · 24/12/2016 22:35

DS (7) was out like a light by 8.30 cos he hasn't been very well today - full of cold.

Stocking and presents all by the tree. We don't put any presents upstairs as I don't want to up at 4am!

BenLinusatemyhomework · 24/12/2016 22:38

Two down, two to go.

Will give it an hour and do a bit of breakfast/dinner prep, then operation Santa can commence.

RubyGoat · 24/12/2016 22:40

Done, hurrah! Although DD, who is 4.7 did sit up about 3.5 seconds after DH left her after her story, & shouted "I can hear footsteps!"... er yes, that would be DH walking downstairs. Xmas Grin Not bad actually, since it's only her second night going to sleep on her own (she's always been a shocking sleeper & we've always had to sit with her until she fell asleep).

KookSpook · 24/12/2016 22:42

All done & Santas treats are just a plate of crumbs.

Ive broken up a carrot & thrown it out by the back door. I will tell DD the reindeer must have dropped it off the roof Xmas Wink

JugglingFromHereToThere · 24/12/2016 22:43

Mine are 17 and 15 and unusually Santa visited us early on his rounds tonight whilst they were playing games with DH in the other room. He does have a lot off children to get round and we were clearly high on his list this year!

DS was very put out about this, so I think we'll still have to all be surprised when we go in tomorrow, and maybe still do the creeping down stairs thing! Xmas Confused

TheFairyCaravan · 24/12/2016 22:43

The presents are under the tree. The kids (22 &20) have suggested opening them at just after midnight so they can have a long lie-in in the morning. Xmas Hmm

That won't be happening!

BogwashBarry · 24/12/2016 22:44

Xmas Hmm Well done you lot. My little bundle of joy is 19yo and won't be finished playing xbox until about 3am so I'm expecting Santa to pass by here after he's finished with alllll you lot......Xmas Grin

Murphysgirl · 24/12/2016 22:45

Not been yet. DD (11) has just got up and gone to the loo. DS (5) finally went to sleep but lost his first tooth today so have also got to extricate it from under his pillow as well as leaving the stocking without waking him!

MaryManchego · 24/12/2016 22:47

Hell no, my children aren't even asleep yet Sad plus we also have a tooth fairy due. Had a lovely evening nitcombing the pair of them. Adulting is so overrated.

Benedikte2 · 24/12/2016 22:47

Sigh what happy memories!
Do hope I'll be reincarnated and will be able to do it all again!
Merry Christmas all you FCs out there

Oblomov16 · 24/12/2016 22:48

Both ds's awake and in desperate to go to bed.

DramaAlpaca · 24/12/2016 22:49

I also have a 19 year old little darling. He's in the pub, so Santa has been while he's out. His older brothers have instructions not to let him in the sitting room where the present are when he comes home Xmas Grin

Camomila · 24/12/2016 22:49

DH is just wrapping my present and then we're done and I can go put away the wrapping paper and make sure all the presents are around the tree in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

DS is only 8 months but DH and I are super excited.

Chelazla · 24/12/2016 22:52

Yep he's been, leaving snowy glitter footprints as he left! Both Dc fast asleep I'm also paranoid they'll wake up!! Watching vicar of DIbley very content! Cannot wait now!! Merry crimbo everyone! X X X 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻

1happyhippie · 24/12/2016 22:52

I'm all done too.
Dd2 was asleep by 8-30, but dd1 is still awake! I'm to scared to leave the living room in case she comes down.

JennyOnAPlate · 24/12/2016 22:53

Yes he's been here. It's so incredibly stressful!! I'm trying to relax with a baileys whilst fearing their appearance downstairs!

periwinklepickspoppies · 24/12/2016 22:54

He's made a total pigs ear of it here, he's left more presents for one child than the other two when he normally leaves the same number. Wtf do I do?

Eva50 · 24/12/2016 22:54

Not yet. Ds3 (10) is still awake. The 21 & 19 year old elves are not being too helpful either. I let them open their (almost matching, Saltrock) pyjamas earlier which they are all wearing so at least they look nice.

Flingmoo · 24/12/2016 22:55

Father Christmas made a beeline for the whiskey and mince we left out for him the second DS was in bed...

DS is 2.5 and goes to sleep pretty reliably these days so we brought the under tree pressies down the second his bedroom door closed, filled his stocking about 10 mins later, will hang it back on his door when we go up.

I'm so excited, it feels like his first ever Christmas even though it's his third, because this is the first time he really gets it and is really excited about it! It feels so magical this year - it feels like this is really what Christmas is all about. I am going to really cherish it as they only believe in the magic for only a few short years. Xmas Smile
