Christmas food shop - how much do you spend?

And for how many adults/kids?

Get a shock every time at the checkout and think - is this the norm?!?!

I have spent roughly £40 on choc and biscuit tins, £80 on alcohol, £225 Tesco shop, £50 Iceland shop and my turkey is £40 from butcher. This is for 6 adults 7 kids

In Aus but I spent about $100 (maybe a bit more) on snacks/treats/soft drinks to last a few visitors and catered our Christmas lunch for about $200 including some prawns which are very expensive this year.

Alcohol no idea, we always have it in bulk.

Well I've done it over a few shops.

Sainsburys was 60
Tesco was 85
Lidl was 80
And morrisons was 90

This included lots alcohol, 4 meats and bits like that.
There is just the two of us but we go all out.

About £300 for 2 adults and a baby- we're only at home Xmas day though

We do about £250 2 adults 2 kids

170 supermarket, 60 butchers, two adults and two kids

I should caveat, this will hopefully also give us two weeks of meals which I can batch cook and freeze.

£250 so far. Lots left to buy.

Hosting, visitors for about a week, various. £140's worth of heavies and provisions coming tonight fresh food tomorrow am - £140ish, booze in already, chocs, cakes, smoked salmon, pigs, etc. in already - possibly best not to think about the overall total but I'll serve at least 30 main meals over four days,

Probably about £280 but there's 7 of us and that will cover all of us over Christmas and boxing day and the 27th Dec and it will cover entertaing friends on Christmas Eve and oldest DS Girlfriend on boxing day.

That's for all the meats,huge turkey and ham,large joint of beef,bacon and sausages,cold sliced and cured meats,the prawns and salmon,all of the sweets,cakes,biscuits,chocolates,nuts and dates,all the sides,sauces and pickles,all the bits for the cheese boards,all the buffet bits for the evenings.
All the alcohol and usual soft drinks and tons of shloer and J20'S for the 5DC.

£100 for everything foodwise for 8 adults

£150 on champagne, gin and beer

I've spent £160 in M&S as using their Xmas dinner service

£90 in Asda

£40 Tesco

Dinner for 9

All in including drunk it will be roughly £350. Turkey & ham is costing £100 alone. That's for 12 of us.

We spent about £200 on 2 adults, 1 toddler and a baby but that included our usual 2 weekly food bill. Had £45 off in nectar points though (always save it up for Christmas) so that was a nice present to myself

About £150 ish for 2 adults 2 dc, no alcohol as I'm pregnant and dp is not drinking cos I'm not. Most of it is sweets snacks and drinks, no meat other than to make pigs in blankets, stuffing and a toad in the hole for xmas dinner

Far more than I'd have thought possible actually!

About £110 on alcohol (some has been given as gifts) which was funded in the main by Nectar points (doubled up twice and then another £25).

About another £100 on food at Sainsbury's (again, mostly funded by Nectar points). Then another £135 from Booths (£100 paid for by a prepaid MasterCard sent to me when I joined Sky broadband) which is some local beers plus food.

There's 7 of us for breakfast and buffet lunch on Christmas Day (5 adults, 2 toddlers) and then 2 adults and 2 toddlers eating buffet in the afternoon / evening too (we decided that we weren't bothered about a 'traditional' dinner).

It does include a half shoulder of lamb which I've got for Boxing Day, so we aren't totally roast-less over the festive period!

Some snacks were unfortunately eaten early and have had to be replaced which has increased the total a touch!

I spent £50. Admittedly my DParents are bringing the turkey, and DPIL are doing the deserts and SIL is doing the drink so we only needed to get snacks, nibbles, sides, soft drinks, breakfast, and evening tea. I was still at the cost for good for one day though.

Tesco due tonight and that's just over £100. Going to marks and spencer today for puddings and butchers tomorrow for the turkey. Don't know but that's just for 3 of us.

It does include drink and bits for going to family on Boxing Day and stuff to last well into next week.

We're at relatives for dinner as have hosted last couple of years so will pick up something to take prob wine and desert but aside from that Iv spent about 80 pound for nice food for Christmas Eve Boxing Day and biscuits nuts etc which is horrifying for me I don't spend any were near that on a normal week and this is to cover 2 meals basically plus snacky crap . Ah well it's Christmas oh and dp still needs to pick up the booze

My Waitrose shop is being delivered tomorrow, it's at £106 so far, that's for 11 of us. Nobody is a big drinker so not much alcohol needed. Shocked at how much less that is than most of these and now wondering what I've forgotten!!

Final total was £174 that's for food from yesterday until next Tuesday or Wednesday though. 2 adults, 4 children & my dad for a few meals (inc Christmas lunch)

Going to lidl this morning for real food (as opposed to Christmas food!) - dh want to do a food shop tonight after work and I refuse to do the weekly shop at sainsbury's. Tonight we'll go to sainsburys and get the extra bits he wants. I estimate it will probably be £200 in total but that will be food for a week plus Christmas extras. We aren't cooking on Christmas Day or Boxing Day but will buy a ham and the extra bits for the week.

We're going to my folks' house for Christmas Day and to extended family for Boxing Day. We're also having Christmas Eve lunch at a fancy pants restaurant, so all we have to sort food wise is some nibbles/booze for Christmas Eve and breakfast things for Christmas Day. I've deliberately not bought too much yet as things just get eaten in this house. Tried stashing a selection of Cadbury Christmas cakes the other day - all gone Braving either Lidl or Tesco later on. Probably be about £30 by the time I've added a couple of bottles of wine to the basket.

I'd guess around £250-30 for 8 as I've tackled it in bits. Like to say we have lots to see, but I ate most of the sweets, drank the wine and had to re-buy. Plus EVERYTHING (down to the gravy ouches, boneless turkey joint and roasters) is pre preared by Marks and Tesco, so paid for lazyness.

I just want to stop 'nipping' out now. Ended up at Aldi and Lidl last night as Aldi had no double cream left. Shocker
