Presents for "cool" teen

DD1 is 13 and is "cool" (not sure what being cool involves, but DD2 in the year below confirms that yes DD1 is regarded as cool).

The main present she wants this year is fairly pricey and she has been very good about not asking for lots of other stuff. I want to get a few things for her stocking (which we still do) but because she has not asked for other stuff I need ideas. My sister has also requested some ideas.

So any suggestions? What are the "cool" make up brands, accessories etc? Stocking is fairly large so don't need to be particularly small in size. I would quite like to impress her by my (borrowed from MN) coolness.

So far I have on my list of possibilities a jar of marshmallow fluff, one of those lipsticks with a flower in it, a couple of frames for instax photos and a grow your own cactus kit. Which may or may not be cool!

To go with the selfie phone case my 14 year old niece is getting a little fan that you can plug into the USB bit of the phone 'for Beyonce hair' apparently Grin

long no way!! I'll have to look out for that, my dd would love that! Grin

Any links for the selfie phone light?

ihatethecold · 17/11/2016 22:27

I nearly fainted when I saw the price of the clothing in Victoria's Secret

Google selfie phone case and the type of phone. You will get millions! New look are also doing a little gadget that you clip to your phones camera and it widens the lense, it means you can get about 4 people in your selfie! I think it's about £6 so a good little stocking filler

MAC and benefit make up. OPI nail varnish.

These are quite fun: www.notanotherbunchofflowers.com/products/coz-e-nailbar-manicure-cushion-various-designs and there are matching tablet stands so they can do their nails and stream movies at the same time. www.notanotherbunchofflowers.com/collections/coz-e-readers

Designer perfume?

Victoria secret for a 13 year old? Just been with DD today for her Christmas present. She is nearly 20. Two bras, one bralette, three matching knickers £155

whilst I was paying I was conscious of my grey bra and five for 7.50 M&S outlet knickers.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/11/2016 00:10

My 14yo started buying (or having bought for her by me Xmas Grin ) Victoria Secret Pink.
"Pink" is aimed at teens, the knickers are 5 for £25 , sometimes 7/£25.
I won't buy her the bras while she's growing (she gets the cheapie Primark ones)

Make-Up wise : Urban Decay and Kat Von D (KVD is her new love)
She loves NYX too but we buy instore, the colour swatches aren't accurate online.
She looks after her more ££ make-up. I'd rather buy her one £15 lipstick that five Superdrug ones. She appreciates them, doesn't impulse buy and they look better/last longer

duckwalk · 18/11/2016 22:30

plum it's the Victoria Secret body spray she is getting, £8 or so. Smile

IEatCannibals · 18/11/2016 23:02

Yep, my dd is crazy about the VS body spray. Apparantly all the girls at school have it.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Always cool

JamieVardysParty · 19/11/2016 14:15

Mermaid tail blanket
Jewellery from & Other Stories
Maybe a mini skin kit, 13 is a good age to start a basic skincare routine.
I also don't know a 13 year old, cool or not, who doesn't love Lush bath bombs.
Would she be interested in a lightbox?
Either a Moleskin notebook or a horoscope notebook.

My 14 year old cousin is described by her peers as cool, she's probably a little bit hipster, and for Christmas, we're getting her a mini hygge "kit" - so this book with some fairy lights for her room, the mermaid blanket and probably some candles or Lush stuff.

This is a great book for any age but esp for a teenager.

Serin · 19/11/2016 19:14

I second the Hygge kit and have also just made up a kit for my own DD (aged 18) I can recommend this book here It is absolutely lovely to hold.

Does she like Tolkein?
