Dd3 is 9.5 (10 in February). This is what's on her Christmas list:

ipod
Maddie clothes (??)
Superstar trainers
Black leather jacket
Puppy !?

We've already discounted we're not getting a dog Grin

Older two dds have said that her list looks very teenager-ish and I am inclined to agree. She obviously wants to be like her sisters but when they were 9/10 they were still very much into toys.

What are you buying your similarly aged girls? Are they all really so grown up these days?

DD 9 and a half at Christmas really really wants a Hatchimal. It's a toy but not a toy iyswim and I think quite 'cool'.

She would also like Box of Shocks and heeleys. Both of these things she requested last Christmas and her previous birthday so am relenting on the Box of Shocks even though I think it's tat. No to the heeleys as I think they're a broken bone waiting to happen.

Over the past few weeks she has spotted random things via tv and said Oh! that's going on my christmas list. Mostly plastic tat like chocolate lolly maker which look fab on the advert but in reality crap.

How about some nice things from Claire's accessories, they have some lovely not too grown up stuff in there. Stationery from Smiggle/Paperchase. A nice bag?

I'd get the trainers and maybe one item of Maddie (no idea!) clothes and leave the ipod and leather jacket for later.

DD was 9 in June. She really likes the look of that Lucy dog thingy and she would love her own iPod touch type thing or a GoPro but knows those aren't happening!

She has wanted a build a bear for several years now so my mum is giving her a voucher to go after Christmas and choose one.

She loves books and says "it's not Christmas or birthday if there isn't a book" :o so she will get some, plus puzzle/game type stuff, they always get a bit of Lego and probably need to update her wardrobe again (when do they stop growing?!).

She really loves Playmobil and I would absolutely get her the set she is drooling over (water park) if we had the space, she has loads already. She and her brother are missing their old marble run as well so I've upgraded to a fancy wooden one which they will love.

She loves dolls and did mention the my generation ones or something? Or design a friend? She got some monster high and stargazer Lottie for her birthday though and at Christmas she's getting a scooter and superhero outfit for Lottie and an iron man doll she's wanted for ages.

Favourite things she's been given this year: a proper sewing machine, Percy Jackson t-shirt, coin collecting album which cost £3, beanie boo cuddlies.

Dd (10) want a lego death star.
I think they're about £400 Shock

Cagliostro · 25/10/2016 01:34

Yes the Death Star is insanely pricey! One of my pupils has one next to the piano takes all my willpower not to play with it during the lesson

Undersmile · 25/10/2016 08:54

Grin how mean if them to leave such a temptation!

Buttercupsandaisies · 25/10/2016 11:39

Can the selfie mic be used with an iPod touch?

Failing that does anyone know of a similar microphone that can be used with an iPad?

madamginger · 25/10/2016 15:45

My ds1 got the Death Star a couple of years ago and it's amazing! It was £270 though Shock

Undersmile · 25/10/2016 21:07

Just checked amazon and lego shop- it's £400 on lego, £470 on amazon Shock

When I told her it was "over £300" she took a SIOB and straight away said she'd like some Lego City set instead. So, at least she has reasonable expectations! Smile

madamginger · 25/10/2016 21:24

Just had a look and they've just released a new Death Star model this year, the new film comes out soon I suppose. The one we have is a retired model from 2014

BreakfastLunchPasta · 25/10/2016 22:00

My nearish 10 dd3 wants some sort of instaprint (I think this means Polaroid, basically?) camera, a nail art set, a very fluffy dressing gown, and a surprise.
Her and dd2's birthdays are pretty soon after Christmas so we always tell them not to expect or ask for too much.
She will also be getting dd2's very nice hand-me-down bike around Christmas.
She already has one of those teensy iPods, and she got Heelys for her last birthday.

BreakfastLunchPasta · 25/10/2016 22:01

All Lego seems to have gone up by about 50% over the last few years 😕

CoffeeMad18 · 30/10/2016 15:45

My dd is the same age and she wants new roller blades, a new doll's buggy, clothes for her baby doll and harem trousers.
