RoastieToastieReastie · 05/10/2016 21:05

See post two for links and codes and huge thanks to firefly girl for helping me update the list so hopefully all old codes have now been banished. I can't keep the list up to date without your help so please do let me know in bold so I can't miss it if anything doesn't work Thanks

I like seeing the ideas even if they aren't traditional bargains.

CandyMcJingles · 10/10/2016 13:01

I will know if anyone buys DD a mermaid tail or anything unicorn related for Christmas that they are a MNetter :)
Just as all the parents of the kids that are getting a cape for school birthday parties from me will know that I am a MNetter.
If you want to start a thread for referrals, go ahead and do it, don't suggest it and then expect someone else to do it.

acsec · 10/10/2016 13:18

Has the Hype bag code expired? Could someone repost please if it's still valid, I can't find it.

Also, what is in the Red magazine gift?? Mines not arrived yet.

Wenchelda · 10/10/2016 13:22

My 2 Hype bags have just arrived - really pleased with them. I've had lots of good deals thanks to these threads but backpacks for £3.47 each instead of £25 have to be the best bargains so far! Flowers

SideOrderofChip · 10/10/2016 13:25

kladsy I think it was when a lot of mnetters realised they were on each other's door steps!

GerrardWinstanley · 10/10/2016 13:25

SideOrder I got DD this hairdryer (but in purple) for her 9th birthday and it does the job. Really handy to take as a travel hairdryer too Smile

rogl · 10/10/2016 13:43

I have a £18 of a £60 shop at Sainsbury's.. I does say first time shop and groceries but it might work with toys as well.. or just use it on chocolate... or gin Grin

Am gonna chuck on a load of camel came camel alerts for dd. Want to buy some paw patrol things for dd(2.5) what is worth buying? Sure I saw something up thread that some bits were rubbish but I can't find it. Also the toot toot stuff - I got the discovery house when it was cheap (thanks to this thread!) is there any other bits of toot toot that are good or worth avoiding?

Scrantonicity · 10/10/2016 13:57

Apologies if this has already been asked, but does anyone know when the following shops will have their Christmas stock in?

  • Primark (Christmas pyjamas in particular)
  • Lidl (have seen Lebkuchen and mince pies but really want their Christmas gingerbread biscuits)
  • Ikea (decorations plus gingerbread dough in the food section)

Thanks!

Fabulous unicorn brooch here...

In fact the whole site is pretty lovely!

confuugled1 · 10/10/2016 14:01

Lala ds2 got Labyrinth a couple of years ago which he was desperate for.

He's loved it ever since and it's been a really good game to play with all ages - he is now 8 and because there's an element of chance in it, he can win more as easily as grown ups. We often have a family get together on boxing day where there are all ages from about 6 through to 80s with a handful of late teens and early 20s in the mix - they played the game with ds and really got into it and enjoyed it themselves when some years they will play games with the younger dc but they don't enjoy them in the same way!

Labyrinth game - currently £14.24 on Amazon which seems a reasonable price for it (RRP £24)

Haudyerwheesht · 10/10/2016 14:02

Don't people realise this is a thread on a forum not some kind of public service? If people want to chat then let them and skip it if you don't want to read it or, you know, do your own bargain hunting and stop moaning at people that are trying to help each other out.

I don't have any bargains today but I am having a MASSIVE declutter

Thingywhatsit · 10/10/2016 14:06

Haudyer - I am decluttering too. Now I just need to chuck a load up fb selling groups, but have no motivation to do so. Although got hardly no money for Xmas bargains ATM so that should kick me into doing it

Snooky17 · 10/10/2016 14:07

This just appeared in my news feed superhero hoodie tops £15 only go up to size 9 tho sadly superhero hoodie kids

Changingagain · 10/10/2016 14:22

Sophia DS was 4 months last Xmas. The bits I remember him liking around then were

rattle ball

octopus teether

lamaze octopus

lamaze dragon

collection of one page bedtime stories

touchy feely book

He also had a giraffe comforter given to him which he loved but I don't know where it was from.

I'd recommend getting him a few bits that you're likely to buy anyway over the next few months as he won't mind at that age and it justmeans spending earlier rather than spending more. So things like hoop stackers, shape sorters, walkers, books. I found I bought a lot when he was about 6-7 months and had a big development jump, I should have bought them at Xmas.

RoastieToastieReastie · 10/10/2016 14:29

Comfuugled agree with labyrinth game, DD really likes that too.

If zeek codes could be put on the separate thread linked earlier please to save a thread with multiple links. Link to the zeek thread will be put on next op Thanks

Just popped into Poundland to check out the beer crates but they're too small for my hamper plan. Poundland do have some really nice letter stamps (full alphabet set and a number/punctuation set) if anyone is making cards, tags or wrapping paper. Also lots of socks and gloves that look decent.

I also got lots of fake lindor to make a wineapple for my brother's hamper.

LalaDipsey · 10/10/2016 15:00

Thanks ever so much for game recommendations.
Card-and-go-seek looks great but not what I'm after - I'd like us to it down together and play when all the toys have been packed away and can only envisage the amazing fun the kids will have pulling everything out to look for something on the card - Confused. Have saved it tho as one for when I have more energy!
The other recommendations also look fab but I'm worried about the age ranges - Dobble says 6+ and Labyrinth 8+. My twins only turn 5 the week before Christmas and dts does struggle to pay attention to games especially if he's losing so I think I probably need one aimed at a slightly younger audience this year but that will still interest me and dd (7) so would love any more suggestions for a family board game thankyou :)

CarrotVan · 10/10/2016 15:15

Code AFDEL is still working for free standard delivery on purchases over £18 at the Book People. And can be combined with the discount of the day which is 15% off (no minimum spend) using TAKE15

Whattodowithaminute · 10/10/2016 15:27

lala there is a kids version of dobble too

FireflyGirl · 10/10/2016 15:28

Lala there's a junior version of Labyrinth age 5+ £12.59

Or junior Cranium £18.97

A lot of the 'Junior' versions are from age 5. If you think they're still too complicated, maybe look at Orchard games.

CandyMcJingles · 10/10/2016 15:36

And talking of orchard, here's a reduced add on Amazon offer for orchard tell the time
