I asked earlier about about everyone's favourite Christmas books, so thought I'd start a thread asking everyone what theirs and their children's favourite Christmas movies are.
Mine in the Santa Claus. So many good memories of watching it with my nan, all cosy at Christmas time. My 3 y/o dd became obsessed with home alone last Christmas.
I love being able to talk Christmas and not have eyes rolling Smile

Bad Santa / Diehard

PeggyMitchell123 · 06/09/2016 15:05

I love all the Christmas films and have loads on DVD but I do love Elf, I watched it as a child and thought it was hilarious and watch it every year.

My nearly 3 year old likes Arthur Christmas and Mickey Mouse's Once Upon a Christmas.

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 06/09/2016 15:05

Elf is a family favourite here as is Arthur Christmas, my five year old watches it all year round, if he's poorly he asked for it

Amalfimamma · 06/09/2016 15:07

Santa claus the movie.

I'm showing my age now but went to see it at the cimena as a child, got the video from santa himself the next year and it's been watched every christmas eve since.

ohidoliketobe · 06/09/2016 15:08

Elf. It's my favourite film full stop not just christmas film! I do also love Santa Claus: The Movie, reminds me of being a child. I love all christmas films, even the naff american, made for tv ones channel 5 show on weekday afternoons throughout December

The Muppets Christmas Carol - obviously!!Grin

CharminglyGawky · 06/09/2016 15:34

Agree with muppet Christmas carol, it isn't Christmas until the muppets have been watched!

We watch it every Christmas Eve and have done for over 20 years now!

AverageGayLad · 06/09/2016 15:47

How has nobody said Polar Express yet??? Grin

SideOrderofChip · 06/09/2016 15:49

BettyOBarley · 06/09/2016 15:52

Not a film as such but The Snowman and also Jingle all the Way!

featherpillow · 06/09/2016 17:16

DC favourite is 'An Elfs Story, Elf on a shelf'.
I cant pick between Home Alone, Elf or Polar Express.

anyoldname76 · 06/09/2016 18:21

my ultimate fave is national lampoons Christmas vacation, but i also love polar express, elf, muppets Christmas carol, scrooged and miracle on 34th street

MargaretCabbage · 06/09/2016 18:24

It's A Wonderful Life. I watch it every year, at least once.

orenisthenewblack · 06/09/2016 18:35

Miracle on 34th Street no contest. The most recent one with the real Santa in it. You know, Santa who speaks all languages cod he's magic.

HandbagCrazy · 06/09/2016 20:21

Muppets Christmas carol here, although home alone (1&2), Elf and Miracle on 34th street are close runners up.

I also have a real soft spot for the not-so-great one like the Tim Allen Santa Claus movies, The Holiday, Deck The Halls etc Blush

foundmykey · 06/09/2016 20:28

This Christmas, I love Loretta Devine, she's an amazing actress and totally makes this film for me.

TeaMeBasil · 06/09/2016 20:32

National lampoons Christmas vacation for no 1!

A Christmas Story - Dixie, is that the one with Ralphie, the Bebe gun and the leg lamp?!! Saw that years ago and it was great, never pops up on Christmas tv here tho (uk)

Loyly · 06/09/2016 20:39

I love any and every Christmas movie/TV show I can find. Utterly, unashamedly obsessed. Grin

Favourite:
Double-bill DVD of Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York.

My other much adored Christmas film is a made-for-TV movie called The Mistle-Tones. It's a sugary sweet Christmassy romance starring Tia Mowry. I just love it.

Ladybirdturd · 06/09/2016 20:46

I can't choose between white christmas, Elf or the family man for me.

My favourite tv movies are the Christmas shoes and mrs miracle.

Dc love the grinch, arthur christmas and muppets Christmas Carol. I will be introducing them to the polar express this year.

DH loves Jack Frost

WhispersOfWickedness · 06/09/2016 21:14

Miracle on 34th street, but also have a special place in my heart for Christmas with the Kranks because I make DH watch it every year and we both know that is exactly what our Christmases are going to be like in 15 years when the DC have left home Grin

iklboo · 06/09/2016 21:17

Arthur Christmas

'Three pieces of sticky tape. THREE!!'

Davros · 06/09/2016 22:01

I heard there's going to be a follow up to Bad Santa, squee!
Also love:
The man who came to dinner (Bette Davies)
Holiday Inn
Miracle on 34th st (original)
The Snowman, Fatger Christmas etc
Everyone Says I Love You (Woody Allen)
Bridget Jones
Love Actually
Erm

Sleepnowprettyplease · 06/09/2016 22:23

It's so hard to choose! The snowman and the Snowdog and Elf are in very close competition at the top of my list though.

skips of to amazon to buy some new christmas dvds
