Woolly, DH has just noticed that you live just down the road from where my family live, which begins with K! We are staying in your local PI in December, in fact (it's nicer than the one in K!).

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/11/2016 19:27

Small world Horace - my DD's went to senior school there. Have you opened your parcel yet?

HungryHorace · 21/11/2016 20:13

I have now, yes! The outfit is gorgeous!

It's now in with the doll and wrapped. 🎄🎄🎄

Not much left to do now.

Which secondary school did they go to? I went to BS.

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/11/2016 20:21

They did too and I grew up down the coast from where you live now!

HungryHorace · 21/11/2016 20:41

How funny! 😀

I guessed from your name that you were from round here somewhere (or your DH was!).

MrsDilligaf · 21/11/2016 22:30

Mummy that's fantastic news - I have had a glass of prosecco in your honour! I felt duty bound to raise a glass to you xx

Mummy that's great news! 💐🍾

Constantly thank you. That present made me ridiculously happy.

I did an audit of my Christmas stuff today - I'm on track for presents, with very little left to get except for DH who I have barely started on yet, however, I have somehow managed to buy cards in sales at the beginning of the year on 2 separate occasions so I have loads, and I have bought A LOT of extras (tinsel, little ornaments, stockings, garlands) and can't work out where it's all going to go and DH is going to moan like mad

HungryHorace · 22/11/2016 06:01

I finished wrapping last night. Just my mum's birthday present to wrap now (which we will be taking down in December as her birthday is late Jan). Also need to buy birthday cards for my sister and mum to go with their presents. Oh, and wrap some biscuits for my sister's family.

Then I need to do a handful of cards and I can relax.

(Though we do have 5 calendars coming which will also need wrapping, but that won't take long!)

HairsprayBabe · 22/11/2016 08:49

Oh I am so relieved for you Mummy

22nd! This time next month I will be off work and in full festive mode!

BiddyPop · 22/11/2016 10:14

Oh Mummy, that is great news! Good luck on the weight loss...before enjoying the season again.

No real news here today. I tackled a clutter corner last night as the weather was so cold and wild I had lit the fire, and then decided to go into the sitting room to take advantage of it, so started clearing the corner. Care package sent to DMIL this morning (wordsearch book, colouring book and pencils, and a letter) - she's a week on from knee replacement and stuck at home. Still strugging with my cough, but it's shifting slowly without having had to resort to antibiotics - I just wish it would go quicker!

Guitargirl · 22/11/2016 20:18

I have been wrapping presents today. My parents are coming to stay tomorrow for a few days and we are doing our annual Christmas present swap. They take back presents from us for them, my teenage cousin and my other cousins' children. I am famously useless at wrapping, you can always tell it's from me as it looks as though a 4-year-old was let loose with the sellotape.

I went to get a few last minute things to wrap after work and some nice foodie bits and pieces for their stay. Will go and get some posh mince pies tomorrow.

The Christmas decorations around Covent Garden are a bit disappointing this year. They usually have some kind of lego display but I couldn't see anything lego themed this year. I did spot a nice Christmas tree near Piccadilly though which had massive rose gold baubles and a rose gold base - very pretty.

I have also just ordered my Secret Santa present for work. I drew out of the hat the name of the most difficult man in our team as he's so quiet no-one knows anything about him. We have a £5 limit too which makes for a panicky 15 minutes on EBay every year Xmas Hmm.

Today I am off to pick up the parcel form next and Argos and I'm going to look in Debenhams and house of Fraser for a dress. I like a new dress for Christmas Day and I've a wedding to go to in February i can wear it to too.

BiddyPop · 23/11/2016 09:42

Morning all,

Today, I bought my Thanksgiving turkey (breast) and will organize that dinner tonight to be cooked when we get home tomorrow. So a trial of parboiling potatoes in advance for roasting.

I have also loaded my cart on the lego store with a few items - the little free gift is gone again, but there are "Brick Friday" deals due so I will wait until Friday to check it out. And hopefully get some reductions. But at least I should get cheaper delivery as I have now set up my parcel motel account for myself. I'll order the Amazon echo for DH next week as I am away for a few days so don't want him to have to collect it....

DD and I spent an hour clearing off another shelf in the bookcase last night, so a few more books going to school, school fair, cousins and paper for the bin. Slowly there is some more order taking shape. But there was another plea for the candy cane cookies - I think DD loved them last year AND she's had requests from at least 3 others for them again this year. Although she also went looking through "her" cookery book to find some "Christmas Breakfast" ideas for their party in school. Apparently sausages and pancakes are already planned, and lots of treats!! They love their current teacher who seems to throw the "healthy eating" policy almost on its head Grin

LaChatte · 23/11/2016 12:17

Hooray, the DC's Smiggle calendars have finally arrived after harassing the postal service with numerous emails about the parcel being stuck in Paris so I can get on with preparing the 1st December hamper, feeling festive again!

HairsprayBabe · 23/11/2016 13:21

Nine left to buy.
Fourteen left to wrap.
Eight more things to make for my hampers.
Seven days till the decs go up.
Seventeen days till my christmas party when everything has to be finished!

Lots to do!!!

HungryHorace · 23/11/2016 17:49

That sounds seriously busy, Hairspray.

I still need to wrap the presents up here for the kids. I'm done at home though!

HairsprayBabe · 23/11/2016 18:38

No kiddies here so I dont have to be sneeky that makes it a lot easier!

MrsDilligaf · 24/11/2016 01:16

30 Xmas Grin

THIRTY DAYS!!

I'm too excited to sleep...DH and I are off to Bath Christmas Market in 8 hours! We spent our honeymoon in Bath and I am looking forward to strolling hand in hand around a beautiful little city absorbing the christmassy-ness.

The reality is we will argue about where to park, where to go for lunch (quite obvious really - Sally Lunn's), and whether we actually need the thing I am lusting over (er...Yes! I do need it. Very much so)

I have dug out three Christmas CD's to play in the car. He's going to hate me Grin

Ooh. Sounds lovely, Mrs D! I assume you're leaving Martha with somebody so you can enjoy it properly?!

It's bastard freezing in Glasgow today. My heating isn't working properly so it's on the chilly side in my flat! 🌬🌬🌬❄️❄️❄️

I need to buy wrapping paper up here tomorrow so I get the kids' presents wrapped up. I find it so hard to get organised with 2 homes! #firstworldproblems

Mummyreindeerlegz · 24/11/2016 07:48

I was going to ask if you were taking Martha! On Saturday I'm off for a Cotswold shopping day with my dsis and dsm WITHOUT children. Damn it I'm going to linger.

I am wondering whether it is suitable to get an angel costume for Gabriel. I mean he's got the name... he was also born mid September.... he truly is a festive baby. Oops. His name was dh's idea and I never thought about it too deeply till last Christmas.

Vegangelist · 25/11/2016 00:29

Star 29 Star

AKA Star ONE MONTH TO GO Star

HungryHorace · 25/11/2016 08:49

How the buggery are we here already?!

I got my 23rd Dec shopping delivery sorted at 3am when I briefly woke up, so that's good. 😀

Just need to buy some wrapping paper today and get a few presents wrapped and we are sorted. 🎄🎄🎄

HairsprayBabe · 25/11/2016 10:14
