This is the one from The Range. I don't think it's as cute - but then I'm not a fan of sky blue as a Christmas colour.

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/11/2016 21:58

This one is from The Works.

MrsDilligaf · 07/11/2016 23:09

Nooooo! No snow! Not yet! In 45 days time yes, but not tomorrow ⛄❄⛄

Loving the last two, Woolly, thank you, and I will probably get one, but I'm looking for nice paper that Santa would write on to send a letter(s) TO my kids. e.g. like this: paper from Santa - but this isn't quite what I have in mind. Or this: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OHB7HKE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A208MHCHQPS8HP - again not exactly what I want. They might suffice, but I'd rather see something in RL. not quite perfect. I think these are a little grown up, and I want something a bit more appealing for kids. Plan is to send the kidlets a letter or two every now and again, though I have not set any time aside to think about what actually I would write!!! Help on that also welcome!

Let it snow let it snow let it snow. Xmas Grin

No snow here, but my goodness it's frosty!

Bloody freezing on the NW coast this morning! I'm currently on a (slightly late-running) train to Glasgow and hoping that the snow rumour is just that. Can't be arsed with dealing with snow!

DD keeps saying she wants a doll from Santa. She's 3. Does anyone with older girls / boys who play with dolls have a recommendation for a well-loved version? I've a feeling she wants one like Baby Born. Are there any decent, cheaper, alternatives,or do I need to hope for a Black Friday deal?!

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/11/2016 10:47

Cooeee 70. Are you still looking for a tasteful Christmas jumper? I saw these in Monsoon this morning and thought of you.

Black and gold

Sequin star - also comes in pink

Black with sequins

There was also this lovely knitted dress with diamanté

Very tempted myself Xmas Grin

MrsDilligaf · 08/11/2016 15:01

Oooh they are very pretty (I love Monsoon)

WIBU to go and have an afternoon nap with Martha? I am so bloody tired today!

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 08/11/2016 18:20

YANBU! I hope you went and had a lovely nap Mrs D.

I've got the same Christmas jumper I've had for 3 years, including being pregnant, but I can't justify buying a new one at the moment.

I also can't justify going anywhere near the Range Sad

Hungry someone has been asking about a cheaper Baby Born style doll on the bargain thread. I think they were referred to the Tesco own brand one called Emmi or something. It's around page 21 of thread 15.

HungryHorace · 08/11/2016 20:46

That was me, Firefly...spreading myself about to maximise responses! 😀

The Emmi looks great, so I think I'll get that one.

I'm going to wear last year's jumper too. No need to get another!

FireflyGirl · 08/11/2016 21:32

Hah, I hadn't noticed Blush

Oh well, at least you know the reply.

nickdrakeslovechild · 09/11/2016 07:24

45 I am going to hide in here all day with my fingers in my ears humming nice calming Christmas songs.

HairsprayBabe · 09/11/2016 07:31

Oh God this is so horrible
What has the world come to!!

Mummyshortlegz · 09/11/2016 07:47

The world has gone mad.

Today I am going to attempt to figure out my embroidery machine to try and make personalised blankets for Christmas gifts.

MrsDilligaf · 09/11/2016 09:23

I think today feels like a "chocolate fudge cake and gin" for breakfast day.

I just can't see how Ol' Trumpyface is going to make America great again.... It'll be a bloody sight worse once he's done with it.

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 09/11/2016 09:31

I can join you for breakfast with half a bottle of Prosecco and a bacon and mushroom omelette. I'd prefer chocolate cake though.

Off to search Ravelry for a pattern for a crochet nuclear bunker Grin Sad

Vegangelist · 09/11/2016 10:21

I've just had cake for breakfast! :)

Guitargirl · 09/11/2016 10:50

I've had Smarties for breakfast.

Vegangelist · 09/11/2016 11:03

I just had another slice for my second breakfast.

Mummyshortlegz · 09/11/2016 12:51

I went to primark and home bargains and have done some good stocking work.

BiddyPop · 09/11/2016 12:57

I am heading out in a depression - which probably means DD will get her wish of getting another Lego City advent calendar this year (I got it last year and she did enjoy it, but I thought a lot of the items would be similar enough this year so wasn't going to get it).

Did I say yesterday that after my early morning spree (in a sale) getting 6 presents and part of a 7th, that I got Dh and my PJs when I went out to get my lunch? (DD has a pair unused from last year and suggested herself to put them away for this year).

I may also find another 1 or 2 presents while I am out, or bite the bullet and buy wrapping paper (I was down to a single roll!!).

LaChatte · 09/11/2016 13:16

I officially declare today as being pants.

Nothing to do with Orange being the new Black (I came on here in the hope of blotting out today's results), I found out that my Smiggle order has been returned to the depot as it was too big/heavy for shipping (well, flying). I'd ordered 2 advent calenders for my DCs and a few other bits and bobs, paid extortionate amounts for delivery to France and was eagerly awaiting the parcel, but no.
Have just phoned Smiggle and their customer support is brilliant, they're going to split the order in two and try sending it again, fingers crossed.

I'm very jealous of you all having cake and booze for breakfast, t'was toast & tea here as usual, followed by work, and to top it all off it's raining.

At least I have pottery class this evening, I'm busy making Xmas decorations

HairsprayBabe · 09/11/2016 16:14

On my way back home from Glasgow the feilds are all covered in snow as I speed past on the train. Making me feel very festive indeed!

BiddyPop · 09/11/2016 16:58

I went into the Eurosaver shop (equivalent to Poundland) and got €24 worth of bits, to make a snow scene on the patio doors looking out to sea in the cottage on Christmas morning (including the fake snow to make a snowman!), a couple of paper folding decorations for the dressers there, and some Christmas tape for DD's wrapping.

And bought the Advent calendar.

I know - I'm a sucker.

I am heading home now laden down, I'll leave the paper until tomorrow.

ClashCityRocker · 09/11/2016 18:41

Brrrr it's cold today! We had a sprinkling of snow this morning - it's too early for me, needs to wait until December please!
