Oh lolly Flowers Sad

Your DS sounds lovely. It is so sad to lose a much loved pet.

lollyj84 · 31/10/2016 22:20

Thank- you. Ds1 is a sensitve soul. He heard me say to Dh about ringing the vet and he asked if the cat would be ok. His little face when i had to say no.
Mummy- my little kitty looks just like yours- beautiful colourings.

FireflyGirl · 01/11/2016 06:58

Flowers lolly. We lost R-Cat's brother when he was only about 1, knocked down, and our street was very, very quiet. We were devastated.

Chocolate for your DS

HeadlessHorace · 01/11/2016 07:22

Sorry about your cat, lolly. Flowers

ClashCityRocker · 01/11/2016 07:44

Sorry to hear about your cat, lolly Flowers

Loving the pics of little Halloweeners. No t or ters here as I'm too disorganised to get a pumpkin or sweets. Didn't see many walking home from work though, wonder if it being a Monday night has put people off.

HandbagCrazy · 01/11/2016 08:38

Lolly I'm so sorry Flowers We had to have ddog PST a few weeks ago and it's heartbreaking isn't it?

I loved the pics of the Halloween costumes Halloween Smile. I didn't have a single trick or treater so now have a pile of fun sized chocolate waiting to be eaten.

Would I be crazy to write out my Christmas cards now and have them waiting in a box for Christmas stamps? I did a mad shopping spree last week so I only have 2 presents (to be ordered online) and DHs presents left to buy and I want to be organised by the start of December so I can just enjoy the build up.

HairsprayBabe · 01/11/2016 08:48

Lolly thats so sad Flowers I remember when my cat Poggle was hit by a car when I was 7 Sad my Dad buried her in the garden under the tree where she used to sleep in the summer, we always call it Pog's tree now.

On a lighter note, who would like to see mine and DP's costumes? Not bothered if it "outs" us as I have very little in life to hide Xmas Grin

HairsprayBabe · 01/11/2016 10:10

Oh and 53 y'all

lollyj84 · 01/11/2016 11:07

Thank you. I hardly slept and have been crying at work. I just hope my lovely boy never suffered. My macho mechanic of a husband text me a while ago to say he can't stop crying. We had to take him to the vet to be cremated.our garden is paved and we rent.Sad

On a happier note Ds1 has started his xmas list.

HandbagCrazy · 01/11/2016 12:25

Lolly I think you need to just accept that it's all going to feel Sad for a while - there is no getting passed it / speeding it up.
(FWIW I saw DH cry properly for the first time in over 10 years when we had ddog PTS)
Flowers for you

lollyj84 · 01/11/2016 13:00

Yeah i have never really had pets so didn't expect to feel like this. A work colleague said he was part of our family and she is right, he was.thanks for all your kind words

MrsDilligaf · 01/11/2016 13:02

Oh lolly so sad and I am so sorry. You don't sound like a crazy cat lady. Pets are part of the family.

Loving the fancy dress costumes!

FireflyGirl · 01/11/2016 15:09

Pets are absolutely part of the family! We were renting when JD was knocked over, so he's buried in my parents' garden along with their dog. They were on holiday at the time, but luckily I knew they wouldn't mind!

Hairspray I love your DP's costume! May have to steal that for DH next time we have a fancy dress party. He doesn't really get into it, but I think he'd enjoy being Magnum PI.

BiddyPop · 01/11/2016 15:12

Lolly, I'm so sorry to hear about your DCat, I hope you and DH have a quiet evening to come to terms with it tonight, and to tell each other some funny stories of DCat's antics as well as shed the tears.

Life is manic so I haven't been posting much, nor doing much Christmas prep or magic recently at all. We bought a few decorations for our tree in Liberty over the weekend (WOW, what a Christmas Dept!). There was a fabulous Mexican "Day of the Dead" type glittery skull ornament, which DH and I both loved, but reckoned that it would offend others within the wider family (and would be hard to transport home as it was glass), so we got 3 nice glass icicles instead (solid glass rather than hollow shapes).

Today's task, once I get home, is to find all the birthday presents I had organized for my family, wrap them, and pack them for tomorrow. (2 DSis, 1 DB, DM and DF). As I meet DM and possibly 1 DSis, and possibly DSIL married to that DB, for dinner for DM's birthday - DF has a different dinner and DB works in that hotel so we may see both of those although not eat with them). And as I won't get "home" until Christmas, I'd better pass them on now (birthdays range from early Sept to tomorrow). I have presents for the 2 girls, a card for DB, and need to get a few more bits organized for the others....oops.

It will all fall into place though, it normally does in some way!

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/11/2016 15:45

When our cat died DD1 was about 6 and DD2 was a toddler. DD1 was very upset and still has a photo of the two of them together in a frame in her room (she's 22 now). We moved house a couple of years later and DD1 wanted DH to dig up the cat's grave and re-bury her in a huge deep pot so she'd always be with us. We haven't been able to get a new pet since as DD2 is allergic to animal fur although nothing could replace that cat.

Biddy Liberty's Christmas department sounds lovely. Very Xmas Envy

lollyj84 · 01/11/2016 18:35

Woolly, that made me cry.
Flowers to all that has lost a much loved pet.

Vegangelist · 01/11/2016 20:27

I wish I lived in London again, I love Liberty.

Firefly I did wonder if MrsD was 55 too! Xmas Grin She's still avoiding the question so I think she must be ancient! Xmas Wink

HungryHorace · 02/11/2016 08:18

52

I typed 42 initially there...fat fingers and excitement combined! 😂🎄🎄🎄

HairsprayBabe · 02/11/2016 08:21

I have never been to Liberty, only been to London a handful of times, I hate crowds and people so it's not really my bag tbh. I imagine that every weekend between now and Christmas will be hellish in there and I can't really justify taking a day in the week to go. Maybe next year! What month does the xmas shop open, I might go in early next year...

MrsDilligaf · 02/11/2016 08:40

Oi Vegan! You and me will fall out!!

I'm 42! so yes...ancient Grin

OP posts:
BiddyPop · 02/11/2016 09:01

42 is a great age! I've been that since yesterday Grin

BiddyPop · 02/11/2016 09:05

Hairspray I was very pleasantly surprised that Liberty had a few wandering around but was in no way crowded! At least up in Christmas on 4th floor. Now the tube stations-that was another thing! (Although the trains themselves were actually fine).

HairsprayBabe · 02/11/2016 09:29

I am tempted to go Biddy might broach the subject with DP and go for a quick weekend flit!

Has anyone been watching the christmassy food shows on Food Network? they really get me excited and hungry

MrsDilligaf · 02/11/2016 09:43

Biddy was it your birthday yesterday? You kept that quiet!

Happy birthday Cake Flowers and many happy returns x
