Constantly

Christmas NEVER moves into the background! Shock

How big is the birthday?

ConstantlyCooking · 01/04/2016 14:51

Very big ( well 50 which seems very big to me), Paper. I'm planning a bit of a party, but Christmas is much more my thing.

Paperblank · 01/04/2016 18:34

50?!?

That can't possibly be true - you don't look a day over 25 Grin

I heard that 50 is the new 40 , but however you choose to celebrate I hope you have a brilliant day x

50 is the new 40 eh?

Hope so, I'm 50 in a couple of months and sometimes I think "Hmm you look ok, old bean" other times I feel about 150 !

ConstantlyCooking · 02/04/2016 11:46

Why thank you Paper. Grin

ConstantlyCooking · 02/04/2016 11:48

Posted too soon
Was going to add it is entirely due to tips picked up from Mumsnet.

Lol. I'm 42 in a few weeks - I looked in the mirror the other day and thought I looked every second of 42 - possibly even 62!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/04/2016 17:33

You look amazingly good Envy in the photo of you and Martha, no way would I have put you at near 42!

You can see the top of my head ( light brown and henna-ed) on Style&Beauty but that's all you're seeing. I'm not good on photos.
In the mirror, hmm, ok. In a photo, I see the reverse of my mirror image, my wonky nose and one eye is higher than t'other. Grin

Not everyone 70 Wink

I am 47 for a few more days. In my head I'm 17 and I listen to Absolute 80's just to keep the pretence up. However, someone has taken a photo of an old lady and used it in my new passport. How dare they Grin

Paperblank · 03/04/2016 02:03

Everyone else is asleep...Martha please note...

Paperblank · 03/04/2016 02:06

Woolly I'd complain I'd I was you. Mind you I look nothing like my passport photo. My own mother wouldn't have been able to identify me from my passport and to make matters worse the same photo us on my Driving license tooConfused

Ratbagcatbag · 03/04/2016 07:26

Darn it, thought I'd be in early enough to get the number out. Grin

Talking of ages, I went to a toddler birthday party yesterday and Eiffel 65 "blue" was on, I recall this as my first clubbing song. Was reminiscing with a random bloke regarding this who informed me he was ten (!!!!) when it came out. How could he possibly have been 10 and still have a child old enough to attend the party, it was like, just yesterday!!! Shock

Hi all, was offline at home for Easter holiday - back at dreaded work again.

I noticed (as did my hairdresser Grin) that I have gone quite grey in the past year - I think it's what turning 42 this year is doing to me!! Hi to a fellow '74 babe Paperblank!

I'll catch up on all the news soon, not a lot of Christmas prep done - but a lot of clearing and sorting that was badly needed was tackled at least! (And as part of that, I started a summer batch of limoncello, needing the big kilner jar, and found it full of Hairybikers' mincemeat I'd started last autumn but forgotten about entirely due to everything else going on - so I jarred up 3 jars before I ran out and had to use my smaller Kilner for the rest as an interim measure. I am hoping that it will be nicely matured to use this Christmas instead!!)

BiddyPop · 04/04/2016 10:44

Oooh, bu**er, I completely forgot the sprouts.

Martha is gorgeous Paper!

Working on planning late April camp with Scouts rather than Christmas at present - which will mean thermals staying out later than normal. I'm too old for this camping lark!!

Ratbagcatbag · 04/04/2016 11:43

Biddy - I'm trying to have a sort out, I have a theory of one carrier bag per week to the charity shop.
My dd was three last month and her pile of toys is huge. I'm planning on doing a toy amnesty in the loft (to make sure she doesn't miss anything) and then get rid of it in the summer. :) just got to get my hoarder of a DH on board now.

Paperblank · 04/04/2016 15:00

Biddy

I'm impressed with your preparation so far! Let me know when the limoncello is ready - I'll pop round for a tester Grin

I know I'm biased but I do agree that Martha is gorgeous. We're having a lazy pyjama day today. She's snoozing and I'm pottering about sorting her clothes out, she's already outgrown her first size (I'm stupidly sad that my tiny baby is now a chunky 9 pounder)

Ratbag

I did something similar when we moved. I filled 40 black bags full of stuff which was either binned or charity shopped. It feels good when you have done it. In all honesty I should do it again (it's amazing how quickly the junk accumulates again)

Feeling very festive for some reason. No idea why really, but I do love lurking in here with you guys.

lollyj84 · 05/04/2016 11:17

Hi all. Not much to report on xmas front. The DC's have come down with a sickness bug. I don't think i've ever seen so much vomit in my life. I've been walking around with a dettol bottle in my hand for 2 days. Dh had a day off work yesterday and while i was in shower DS2 was sick and the first thing my DH grabbed was my xmas tea-towel. I was not a happy bunny.

Paperblank · 06/04/2016 04:16
