We pretty much do the same thing every year.

Cinema in the morning
Christingle Service in the afternoon, then home where the elves have left new PJ's and a DVD.
Party tea whilst watching DVD
Sprinkle reindeer dust, read 'The Night Before Christmas' and then sort out a mince pie for F.C and children to bed.

We've checked the cinema near us, and none of us really fancy anything thats on. DC are 7 & 5.

Inspire me with what you do to make the day fun for the little people.

Sorry, hope i didn't drag thread down Blush

GoooRooo · 23/12/2015 20:36

Ilborgia I hope things improve for you Flowers

Tomorrow morning DH is working while I look after the two children. We will then thunder through the house and clean before his mother arrives at 3pm. I'll spend the rest of the afternoon hiding in the kitchen preparing dinner [grins]

HeyMicky · 23/12/2015 20:37

I have an old, dear friend staying so we're going for coffee while DH takes the DCs to collect the meat

Then obligatory sausages in bread rolls for lunch, as per DP's family tradition.

Cook the ham and prep veg while the DCs nap then crib service with PILs at our village church. Spot Father Christmas/the ISS on the way home

Kids to bed then wine supper

FelixFelix · 23/12/2015 20:38

Hope you're feeling well again soon Iborgia Thanks

neversleepagain · 23/12/2015 21:05

My girls are 3, dh at work tomorrow until 2pm.

The plan is to chill out at home in the morning, make a gingerbread house, ice biscuits and do some painting.
Crib Service at 4pm followed by a picnic tea.
Bath and then a DVD with popcorn together.
Dc in bed for around 8:30 then dh and I will sort out presents under tree and into stockings.
Then into bed to watch TV with tea and chocolate!

Lunawolf · 23/12/2015 21:26

We are going out for breakfast early, then DD is off to the panto with my SIL and cousins.

DH and I will finish cleaning the house and do any last minute shopping in the morning.

Afternoon - bake shortbread and prep veg for Christmas dinner.

When DD is back, we are going to church for 6pm. Then home for Christmas Eve box, Christmas PJ's and supper in front of the fire.

Literally can't wait! I actually prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas day Blush

RingDownRingUp · 23/12/2015 21:36

Power walk in the morning

Last minute tidy, clean
Church
Get ready for Father Christmas
Nice dinner with dh

PinkParsnips · 23/12/2015 21:42

DH is working 2pm Xmas eve until 1am xmas day morning so I will just be at home with 2yr old DD. When DH gets up from his night shift we'll do a few last bits of prep as we're hosting Xmas dinner and open DDs Xmas eve box then afternoon when he's gone will probably be a walk in the park if it's not raining and doing a few activities from DDs box then when she's gone to bed it'll be pj's on - pizza, baileys, Xmas film and bed for me!!

LaurieFairyCake · 23/12/2015 21:45

Family round for cake and 'it's a wonderful life'

ChristmasEvePJs · 23/12/2015 22:00

Tomorrow DS1 and I are collecting the meat from the butchers at 7.30am. Home to make a trifle and a cake. Bath, relaxing cup of tea and final tidy up will complete my morning.
Then into town for a late lunch with friends and the DC's, there will be 13 of us. Home to open the Christmas eve hamper, new PJ's on, hot chocolate and a film. Kids in bed for 8.30/9.
Open port, set out gifts then bed!

PennyPants · 23/12/2015 22:05

Then off out for a coffee and pick up some last bits.
Dh going to buy beer while I do the food prep.
Games with DC- cards, darts, a quiz.
Nice tea.
Film and pick n mix.

Titsywoo · 23/12/2015 22:26

A lot! We have had a manic year with an extension, new kitchen and refurbed most of our house. We did a lot of it ourselves and are literally just finishing bar the lounge wallpaper as we ran out of time. Carpet went in today and I have been tidying, cleaning and washing like a nutter all day. Tomorrow I will be:-

Dropping kids to a tennis club fun morning at 9.30
Going home to do more cleaning
Picking up kids then going to get the turkey from the butchers
Putting up the decorations
Setting the table for the morning
Giving the kids baths
Wrapping the presents

I'm exhausted already and even more exhausted thinking about tomorrow!

Iborgia - I hope you are ok?

GinandJag · 23/12/2015 22:58

I will hit Sainsbury's at 6am to buy my turkey (everything else bought). I will then make giblet stock and start prepping vegetables.

I will the move on to cleaning the whole house.

Then I will start my Christmas shopping, followed by wrapping, and a nap.

Midnight communion service will end my Christmas Eve.

MavolioBent · 23/12/2015 22:59

Will be dragged up at crack of dawn by Ds2 who will be desperate to open his birthday presents :)

Our Christmas eve traditions are basically to ignore Christmas until bedtime. Then I spend the evening trying to find all the presents I have hidden in ransom places

Cataline · 23/12/2015 23:01

Have loved reading what everyone has planned for Christmas Eve!
I'll get up super early when DH goes out to work and so something with our elves which I've just realised I've forgotten about Blush
DS probably won't surface for at least two hours after that so I'll catch up on tonight's "The Affair" finale while wrapping DHs presents- not very festive but I'll enjoy it!

Once DS gets up we'll do a few present drops for local friends then home for housework which I'll bribe DS to help with with supplies of hot chocolate and mince pies. Ooh- must remember to change all the bedding too!

Then we're heading out for a magical arctic animation screening thing - set in a pretend forest with 'fur' rigs to sit on, live music and hot chocolate- can't wait!

Then lunch with a very lovely friend and her boys before heading home to see DH and watch Elf- of I can find a bloody DVD before then!

We'll venture out to his family in the evening for an hour or so then home to discover Christmas pjs and read TNBC. DS off to bed then I'll start the wrapping of his gifts while DH and I watch 'Bad Santa' a long-standing Christmas eve tradition!

I'd better go to sleep- hasn't realised I had such a busy day ahead!

Everydayaschoolday · 23/12/2015 23:40

Homecooked brunch late morning, panto matinee, buffet chinese restaurant near theatre, drive around looking at christmas lights on the way home, Santa plate/reindeer food/magic key out, bed for kiddies, veg prep for the next day and lay the Christmas table, then a TV movie for us and lay out the Christmas bags and stockings before bed.

ChimpyChops · 24/12/2015 02:24

Iborgia, I hope Chrostmas gets better for you x

Hospital at 9am, hoping for news of my other half's operation. Then popping to hos grandparents and my sister's to do a present drop. Mum's to pick up our new saucepans which I realised I need before we see them on Christmas Day! Then home, think his mum will pop over after work.
Dinner for our son at 5, followed by bath and new pjs/book. Will then put out the baileys and cookies for Santa, and a magic key has to go in the front door. Skype with our other son who is with his dad. Then bed at 7.
We are having a Chinese and then will lay out the gifts from Santa and from us. Cook the beef and peel the potatoes for the next day. My brother will turn up late, at about 9, harrassed and we will swap presents.

Then bed :)

chrome100 · 24/12/2015 06:26

I will be doing my shopping. Then meeting my oldest friend for a drink. Then wrapping said shopping. Then off to the pub with more friends. No kids though.

Allhallowseve · 24/12/2015 06:55

About to put gammon in slow cooker for tea tonight.
Off for breakfast with Santa this morning then home for naps and crib service this afternoon.
After there we will come home for slow cooked gammon bread rolls and sweet potato fries. Followed by hot chocolate and the muppet Christmas carol.
New pjs and bed so excited.

lborgia · 24/12/2015 07:00
