What have you bought DH/DP as a main present?

I'm having a mild panic about DH, I've bought a couple of books, an LP, a back magic exerciser thing and will be getting a few small gifts - shave foam, chocs etc. I've also got two joint presents for him and DS (lovely Maps book that was recommended on here, and a rocket launcher toy).

But that's it, and I have no clue what to get as a main gift. He's just had his birthday which doesn't help, and he really doesn't need anything. I don't want to get anything too novelty that won't actually be useful, eg he loves star wars and I assumed it would be easy to get something this year but haven't found anything that grabs me.

He also likes film generally (already has Empire subscription that I renew annually), running, DIY. I'd thought about getting some lovely photos of the kids done but have now left it stupidly late so think that's out.

So, anyone had any brainwaves for their DPs that might inspire me?

I've bought mine tickets to see Jimmy Carr. We haven't had a night out together in about 2 years for various reasons, so I think he will like that more than a present.

Pebble smartwatch, that's what I've got as dh main present. He also wanted one of this quadcopter things with a camera on. The parrot drones look quite cool. I tried to stay away from all the star wars stuff but there's so much of it, so he might have one or two little bits.

Dp main presents is an experience for two people to hand feed two white lions. It includeds entrey to the rest of the zoo.also he's getting voucher' for a posh hotel that is right near the zoo. So we can do the zoo stay over night.

They have some cool star war bath robes at the moment?

Nothing, not helpful I know, but decided we would buy our own presents to ourselves to give the other to give back to us to unwrap.
This was not my idea so I've still got a couple of little gifts for him.
If I was getting a big present it would be tickets to show/event. Or reservation at restaurant or cookery sessions.

superb, the pebble looks really interesting, do you know much about it? Like whether there's a better one to get regarding functionality etc? He's got an Android phone and runs a bit so the health app might be good.

He does like gadgets, but tends to research them thoroughly and take his time before buying them, so I'd love to get something really useful but don't want to get the wrong thing, iyswim?

Thanks for other ideas, tickets for something would be great, just need to think about what sort of thing.

If he's into running maybe a Garmin running watch, with a heart rate strap, would be good?

I'm getting mine a casual shirt and a new jumper, but know he needs / would like these things.

I had a photo book done of pics of the kids from our phones spanng the year, online at a Tesco waiting for delivery still, but worth seeing if you could click and collect nearby, might be quicker.

We are also seeing Star Wars this week as an early present to both of us.

Previous years he loved a really decent a Jansport rucksack, kindle and IPod shuffle for his commute.

Thank you, all ideas appreciated. Clothes might be a good idea actually, at least they'll be used. Maybe something a bit more luxurious than he'd buy for himself.

I've bought him a premier ticket to see starwars and voucher for food. We have a toddler and I'm pregnant so dh gets very little time to himself (and I get an evening to myself!!bliss!)

His main presents are tickets to see Russell Howard and a really gorgeous Arc'teryx softshell jacket which he can use for climbing and skiing. He's terrible at buying new clothes for himself and his current climbing jacket is ancient. I love Arc gear, it's expensive but so well made - he could easily afford to buy it for himself but he just doesn't so I'm really excited about giving it to him. I've got him loads of other bits too - including a back exerciser - but those are the main things. If your DP is outdoorsy Snow+Rock and Cotswold both have pre-Christmas sales on with good discounts on some really nice jackets etc.

Dh has literally every gadget known to man so I've just got him some Lego and other generic man bits.

I got DH tickets to Rolling Stones exhibition, tickets to Ross Noble (thats as much for me as him tho) a hot dog machine, a machine that transfers slides to the PC (he has 1000's of his parents slides that he has no idea of what) books he asked for, a copter camera thing he wanted and was less than half price so he knows about, and some smellys.

what about a FitBit OP?

I've got the pebble steel which is kind of mid range, they do a much nicer one but dh has said that the technology isn't quite there yet so he couldn't get a fancy one. It seemed to be the best compromise as it looks nice and has most functionality but isn't a massive waste if in a year or two he gets a better one.
Got him a fitbit charge last year and he loves it, to be honest he will probably use both, fitbit at work, pebble the rest of the time as the fitbit is silicone and won't damage as easily(does a manual job).

A Barbour lambswool jumper

A cordless drill and a new work bag - boring, but both things he's asked for, I'm fed up of getting him things he never uses.

Dh cycles a lot so I've got him a Garmin Vivoactive watch :).

A cd because he insists that we stick to a limit of £20 this year the miserable fucking sod. I've got full on Christmas rage today - could one of you kindly direct me to an appropriate thread for a good vent about it?

A PS4. I'm super excited to give it to him as he thinks we're going to put Christmas money towards one after Christmas. I have to play along when he goes online to look at deals and stuff. Less than a week until I no longer have to keep up with the charade!

An Xbox one! I saw one on Facebook being sold a couple of months ago, he bought it without testing it and it was broken so I couldn't resist getting him one on black friday and I accidentally gave it to him a few days ago! Need to learn how to contain my excitement before DD gets old enough to take advantage of my awful present secret keeping! He's thrilled, although I've lost my gogglebox pal he gave me his old car for when I pass my test though which I was over the moon about and it meant I had lots of spare money to spare for his and DDs Christmas presents. Now I've let the cat out the bag, I've had to panic buy a few extra surprises and I got a great deal on a coffee machine from Argos.. I think it was £150 reduced to £40. Does your DH like coffee? RE Star Wars, I bought my DP a Star Wars pop up car bin as his van is always a state not a main present I know but may be good depending on his car hygiene!

Main present is a Real FX car racing set (a bit like a Scalextric!), and the Thunderbirds 50th Anniversary Vault book.

He is 55

He is getting headphones, but is umming and ahhing about the 'requirements', so they will be purchased tomorrow once I'm fairly sure the ones I'm looking at fit the bill. Aside from that the bigger stocking fillers will be a pair of nice PJs and a winter running top.
