Do you know anyone who WOULD'NT appreciate an Oxfam gift?

You know, those gifts of goats, medicines etc.

I am wondering whether to send a gift of 25 trees to my aunt and uncle. We never meet up with them, and I don't know them very well...

What do you think?
Anyone brave enough to admit on here that they wouldn't like it as a gift themselves?

not read all this thread, but I think it is ok to give an Oxfam goat if:

The recipient has asked for this type of gift. Or the recipient has every single thing they could ever want and has told you not to buy them a gift this year.

It is not ok if the recipient is someone who could really do with a treat and has a limited budget for christmas gifts. If they have budgeted to give you a gift, and you piously give an Oxfam donation in return, the recipient is faced with a doulbe whammy - has spent cash on your gift and not got anything in return.

I think in the OP's case, it would be ok to give 25 Oxfam trees, as long as you are sure the aunt and uncle are comfortably off.

Well I have just ordered 100 school dinners and some fishing nets for my brother alongside a Gordon Ramsay Cookbook and a bottle of scotch!! (How's that for irony/conflict of interests!!) He has everything he could possibly want (except a baby ) and has said himself that if he really wants something, he can go out and buy it.

I know he will appreciate my gift and as it is alongside something he will get personal enjoyment from, I am happy with my choice.
