Arse. TCB has xmas20 for 20% off Thorntons plus free delivery - I can get the 20% coming off but no free delivery

BettyBitesBums · 14/12/2015 22:10

Is there a Book People code knocking about? None of the ones on the intro page are working and my eyes have gone square looking for one plus the desperation of moving to Australia in 5 weeks and still having done bugger all Christmas shopping, got nobody to live in our house and nowhere to live out there are taking their toll! Anyone that's better at this life thing than me want to do my shopping?

yumyumpoppycat · 14/12/2015 22:12

forgive what about a self stirring mug I saw mini jelly beans dispensers in pound world as an add on. Hawkins bazar has a sale on - learn to juggle 2.50 ;drum calculator £5

TattieHowkerz · 14/12/2015 22:15

Elf15 for 15% off at book people, just until midnight though.

FeelingSmurfy · 14/12/2015 22:17

Iggi same here, the code is on the website and just says 20% discount, so I think it's TCB mistake

Works with 3For2 though, and hopefully Cashback too

ChristmasEvePJs · 14/12/2015 22:20

hanging www.wilko.com/dolls+soft-toys/wilko-play-wooden-my-little-cradle/invt/0403162

We have this, it's very robust and rather pretty and we got it cheaper in a sale but still good for £12!

FilthyRascal · 14/12/2015 23:29

Could I ask a favour of you lovely lot? My mum wants to take up painting again and I thought it might be nice to get her some bits to get started for Christmas. Problem with this being, I know nothing about painting and only want to spend around £30 ish. She'll only want "nice" good quality things.

Any one seen any bargains..? Or know what I should buy?!

Thanks Thanks

bettythebuilder · 15/12/2015 00:31

FilthyRascal The Works look to have good artist supplies... I'm not an expert, but I've seen the range in store and they seem to be 'proper' artists paints, canvases, sketchbooks etc!

jasonbain · 15/12/2015 01:13

My DD is studying art and and she'd say The Works isn't the best quality for someone serious about art. DD likes Cass Art which has some discounts for Christmas, you could get a set of oil or acrylic paints for £30. Do you know if your mum would prefer acrylic, oil or watercolour? Daler Rowney and Windsor and Newton are good quality brands.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 15/12/2015 05:43

Sainsbury had those ladybird books yesterday lady in front of me was buying some they were 3.49 each

dancemom · 15/12/2015 07:16

Going to post my gifts today and have noticed I need one wee extra for a lovely lovely friend of mine.

She's terminally ill, practically housebound and on a restricted diet so it's tough!

Already have her Christmas socks, a friendship quote sign, a scarf with her favourite dogs on it so need something small and light for up to £5

Also needs to be bought today in the high street!

Any suggestions?

DeloresDeSyn · 15/12/2015 07:32

the Body Shop have 40% off, free delivery, and a free 200ml body butter with a £10 spend. Code is on the website.

Boozt (a bit like surfdome I think) have lots of deals on designer brands, there's 50% off Loads of stuff and then they have 20% first orders. I don't know if they're stackable though.

sistersguild.co.uk/christmas-shop Have 15% off their 'Christmas boutique' with WISHING

spub · 15/12/2015 07:39

dance, i'm sorry about your friend. Is there a film or some music you could pop in to the parcel? Reasonably light and might bring her some pleasure? Hope you find something nice.

DeloresDeSyn · 15/12/2015 07:40

I too need a Book People code, can't believe I missed that one last night! Or at least, I need to find the complete Harry Potter set for under £25! It's £30 on there at the moment which is the best price I can find.

I'm also looking for a good deal on Crocs for DH (I know), just the normal or the 'professional' ones.

allisbrightandshiney · 15/12/2015 07:42

dancemom does she read? How about a little book light that you clip onto a book?
Or a small tube of nice hand cream.

DeloresDeSyn · 15/12/2015 07:46

Oh Dance I'm sorry. Does your friend like reading? Or maybe some lovely hand cream?

AFingerofFudge · 15/12/2015 08:10

PamelaEwing · 15/12/2015 08:16

Neeko · 15/12/2015 08:26

Dance sorry about your friend. What about a mug with a lid? That would allow her to sip warm drinks slowly without spilling?

woodwaj · 15/12/2015 08:51

dance can you print any of your favourite photos together from your phone?

LittleReindeerwithcloggson · 15/12/2015 08:55
