DS is fixated with curious George and I've managed to get him one without having to sell a kidney to afford it!.

He'll be so happy (I hope!) and I can't wait to see his face Smile

I am most excited about a Hannukah present we are giving my ds2 (11) tomorrow. Firstly, we don't do hannukah presents normally as we celebrate Christmas too (mixed family).

He plays melodeon (push button accordion) as a second instrument. I bought him a cheap one off eBay last year when he aid he wanted to learn. But I only managed to get a one row when ideally it should have been two rows in very specific keys. He had done so well with it but even his teacher said he needs a two row. We have been watching eBay together but they have just been too expensive.

We went together to a local accordion shop last month to try some out. He loved them but the cheapest second hand was was still very expensive. So I had to say no. But the next day k went back without him and bought it. My mum (who does give them hannukah presents) and us are sharing the cost and giving it to him jointly. He will be so shocked and so over the moon. I can't wait to see his face!

This thread is so lovely to read!
I'm excited about everything DD is getting this year as she is 3 now so really gets it in a way she didn't quite last year! But most excited to give her her toddler Elsa doll. She's going to be amazed Grin

ImNotChangingMyUsernameAgain · 05/12/2015 09:10

My DD2 has been saving, and saving and saving for an American Girl doll and regularly bemoans the fact that she'll never get to £100. Little does she know I have it wrapped and in the attic. Brought it back from NYC a couple of months ago. I can't wait to give it to her.

MummyWeeble · 05/12/2015 23:53

This is such a lovely hapoy thread.

It doesn't compare to a lot of this stories but I think ds will love his little Wallace and Gromit Rocket I've got from Ebay. He is 2 and loves A Grand Day Out with Wallace and Gromit.

I also think he will be over the moon with a little soft toy dog, I have bought from Tiger. He seems to be a bit of a dog lover.

The woman who looks after my horses has a bit of a sad family life and so doesn't get any presents. Last year she was really surprised because I bought her a few presents. None expensive but just so she had things to open. She said how much it meant to have something to make the day feel like christmas. This year I've bought her a new jacket with the names of her dogs on the front. She'll cry. DS (19mo) will love his train table, tractor and box filled with hats. I'm going to hide the tractor and train table til last or he won't bother with anything else. I think I've done pretty well for DH but I just twitched and think it will be his favourite present. An adult toy snowboard. He is such a big kid and loves snow days so he'll adore it £12 well spent (unless he breaks his leg). He'll also love the phone cover with DS on it.

HippyChickMama · 06/12/2015 00:43

DD (2.4) has asked for Woolly the spider and a snowman, can't wait for her to open them but we've also bought her some Twirlywoos which she will love. Ds (8) desperately wanted the Imaginext Gotham City street thing, I told him it was too expensive for what it is but got it half price in Toys R Us, he's going to be so excited.

HellesBelles01 · 06/12/2015 01:09

This is such a nice thread, you lot are lovely Smile.

This might sound a bit weird but I'm most excited about a present I bought today for my DDad. It's a personalised jar of marmite! He's had to go on a really strict diet this year for health reasons. He's done so well, lost 3 stone so far but he can't have booze, chocolate, cheese or any of the other festive treats. He adores marmite though. I have got him a proper present to go with it - I hope he likes it!

ExploraDora · 06/12/2015 07:20

DD aged 4 - a bike. She hasn't asked for it, it's a complete surprise, but I think she'll be speechless. Also, a Sir Hiss from the Disney Robin Hood cartoon so that the Prince John she got for her birthday won't be lonely anymore.

DD aged 2 - Ice Age toys, tracked down on ebay. She adores Ice Age, but doesn't have any toys as the films came out before she was born. I've got her lots of plastic figures (she will act out little games with them for hours) and beanie baby soft toys of the main characters. I did a lot of ebay shopping this Christmas!

ds1 his xbox one and a new big TV. He is a awesome kid, and so lovely with it, his teachers are amazed with him, and they had to stop giving him the golden ticket at school which he has been given the past 10 weeks, to make it fair on the other kids, his football coach also adores him, as he is just wicked.

e has no idea he is getting it, as he got a xbox 360 2 years ago, and we have said it costs far too much money to start all over again. Ds football hero is Messi, so we have got him the full shabang- tracksuits, football boots (studs and astro) new strip, umbrella, and also a signed framed football shirt by the man himself Grin

ds2, is not into toys, and he love IT, he also loves his brothers ipod, so we have got him his own, as well as a new tv. hes' got loads of things that MN recommended to me, after he asked for NOTHING Hmm

I loath character clothes, however we have got ds2 the minecraft hoodies (3) and the new minecraft storygame, He also the most bravest little man I know, no matter what life throws at him, he's only 6 but far more advanced emotionally and mature than he should have been at this age.

mrsdavegrohl · 06/12/2015 14:21

Youngest Dd who is nearly 4 has only asked for one thing which was a dolly in a car seat. I've got her that and a few other things but the thing I will think she'll like best is a homemade wool stickman that I have butchered together with minimal crochet talent.
She loves stickman but I have never been able to get a toy. Cue loads of Stickman merch after it airs Christmas Day, like the Beano wallpaper which was released a month after i painstakingly covered a wall in old comic pages :/

Lexatron · 06/12/2015 14:49

For youngest DD, we managed to get our hands on the Disney, 12 princess doll collection box or whatever it's called here which they have now sold out of! So happy I bought it last month before everyone else, even if it was a bit stressful.

Millie2013 · 06/12/2015 18:34

All DD (2) has asked for is a happyland London bus and she's very excited about getting one, bless her
We've also bought her a wooden shop/cafe on wheels, which I hope she will love

mamalove4 · 07/12/2015 11:17

This is so lovely Smilesome really great presents!

My children are getting tablets, they have shared one nintendo 3ds between four of them since last Christmas so they will love it! I'm also getting them that new Disney Life subscription on their tablets so they can watch ANYTHING disney on it and listen to all disney music! Girls will be especially pleased!

ClarkL · 07/12/2015 12:35

My daughter really disliked her school (mixed year groups year 3-6 in one class) and she felt like she was falling behind, We've invested in a tutor and spent ages looking around for another school with separate year groups, tricky in a rural area with lots of tiny village schools, however we've found one and she starts this Wednesday. I was a bit worried about presents as between the tutor and new school uniform I've quite a bit going out. I asked her what she wanted and she said shes already got her gift, moving schools.
Shes amazing.
I am looking forward to giving friends and relatives a home made hamper with jam, apple sauce, sloe gin and wreaths all made from at home from trees etc from the garden.

DivaDroid · 07/12/2015 13:05

My DS wanted to ask for an Xbox, but he didn't as he knows we've had a tough few months financially & we told him that him & his sister are too young for games consoles like that. He and DD have only asked for a few things (they're 7 & 4 and don't ask for a lot anyway).
We managed to get a pre owned Xbox 360 from Game, along with a few pre owned games including Minecraft.

It's our family present from Santa, so will be opened after everything else. DD (4) will like it, but DS will either faint or scream with joy.

Just bumping this thread, as it's so lovely to read. Xmas Smile

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 08/12/2015 21:04

How did the Hanukkah gifts go down?!

lavendersun · 08/12/2015 21:11

I have got two things, a snugg keyboard for Dd's iPad mini, she would like a laptop and I have said no (she is 9) but she is always typing stories on an old manual typewriter and this gives her a property qwerty keyboard.

Then DH, I have said no cycle camping, only B&Bs in 2016 but I have bought him a 3kg tent for three for cycle camping, he will be thrilled.

Happy Hanukkah Wii.

Star2015 · 08/12/2015 21:22

Not sentimental but I've bought my DH a coffee machine, he loves a Latte after a meal but settled for tea at home so I hope he's going to love it.

It wasn't a planned purchase but a bargain in the Black Friday sales Xmas Smile

serin · 08/12/2015 21:39

Some really old Celtic sheet music bought from a charity shop.

It's for DD, she is going to freak!!!

lavendersun · 09/12/2015 07:07

serin - that sounds fab, what was it? DD would absolutely love something like that. One of the largest NT bookshops around is about 30 miles away from home and we often buy music there. Celtic is her thing atm.

A holiday in Marrakech for my dad and sister Smile

Sheusedtobesomeonelse · 09/12/2015 08:58

This is such a lovely thread!

This year i have started to sew and have made come cushion covers with patchwork initials on them for my partners parents, I started them in september and it has taken me ages to get them right.
I'm so pleased with them zs they look just like i hoped and i really hope they will be liked! Can't wait to say they are homemade but by me Grin

Mumanddadtoone · 09/12/2015 09:26

My dsis loves Michael kors but can't afford his stuff, I found a scarf in tkmaxx at a really good price so am really excited about giving her that.
My ds (5) has autism and loves looking at animals online and matching them to his model animals, he only has about 10 though, so I have been frantically buying any model animal I can find and now have about 50 to give him, he doesn't understand Christmas but I know he'll be so happy with them even if he can't tell me (he's non verbal)
