DS is fixated with curious George and I've managed to get him one without having to sell a kidney to afford it!.

He'll be so happy (I hope!) and I can't wait to see his face Smile

CantSee4Looking · 03/12/2015 21:12

The one that ds is going to love the most but will probably drive me completely and utterly bat shit crazy by the end of the week. Just as long as nothing gets broken all will be good think shooty type toy with targets

iklboo · 03/12/2015 21:24

UPDATE - Robot Wars tickets (both DS & DH)

Whatsername24 · 03/12/2015 21:42

HeyMicky - enjoy Vic and Bob. We had tickets for one of the dates which they unfortunately cancelled Sad

ShebaQueen · 03/12/2015 21:53

Albus that is so lovely, such a thoughtful gift!

I can't wait to see my DH's face when he opens his present - 2 tickets to see the premier league football team he supports, playing at home. I'm banking on him taking a mate and not me!

BornToFolk · 03/12/2015 22:00

Me and DS are both very excited to give Pie Face to my niece, should be a lot of fun to play at Christmas!

I'm really looking forward to giving DS tickets to the England match Grin

EatSleepTeachRepeat · 03/12/2015 22:13

Spent 4 hours on Sunday night making a photo book for my parents - they have been asking for ages and there was an offer on Amazon Local.

My brother and I are clubbing together to pay for a little family break over valentines weekend for mum, dad, him and gf, me and bf and my DS - Can't wait!

And got my DS a flight on an aeroplane! He's been begging for years; its not quite America Its to the Isle of Mann but I just know he's going to love it

FattyNinjaOwl · 03/12/2015 22:20

I can't wait for DS1 (7) to open his "how to be a time lord" book. He's Dr.who obsessed

DD turns 2 exactly a week before Christmas, but I can't wait to see her face when she opens her Anna and elsa ragdolls that her great grandma has got her. (DD is frozen obsessed and sings let it go at least 5 times a day)

DS2 is only a baby and won't even be 5 months.

fuzzpig · 04/12/2015 00:07

Probably the gymnastics leotard for DD's doll! DD is 8 and started gym this year, and loves dressing her dolls, so I think she will be really excited.

The Book With No Pictures for DD and DS (6) - they practically wet themselves laughing when we had it out of the library, but they think I've forgotten all about it. In fact I have, since Santa delivers the books :o

The Batman edition of the Love Letter game for my (teen/adult) DSCs, because they love games and the fact it's Batman will really tickle them.

The Tomorrow People DVD for DH. He mentioned having loved that series (the original not the recent remake) and has no idea I even took note of it (thank you, Amazon Wishlist).

3D puzzles for the DCs - managed to get really cheap cardboard puzzles of St Basils for DS and the Trojan Horse for DD, which are just perfect for both of them.

This is the first year we haven't done any 'wow' presents for the DCs, I mean nothing massive/expensive. So hopefully they'll like the smaller things they've got.

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2015 00:15

I was reading this and thinking how lovely but feeling a little sad because despite buying lots of bargains I am not sure I have hit the nail on the head with a really exciting present, but a tiny christmas miracle just happened ;) Not a christmas present but dc reuse their lego advent calanders each year, last Jan I spent ages trying to find all the bits and put them in little envelopes and back behind the doors for this year. But there have been some missing key items already and we are only on day 3. I have just looked in a odds and sods drawer for a screwdriver and found a couple of them in there a minute ago Xmas Shock they are now set up and the 'naughty elf' is in place as if he found and assembled them Grin Tomorrow dc will prob be all 'what ev's' but I am excited.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 04/12/2015 00:23

GinThief you need to change your name!

I have a couple of dd's favourite soft toys to give her. She has ASD and obsesses over them. And DS has a fabulous superhero light that has a sticker to make it appear to be bursting through the wall. Am stupidly excited about that and it was £15 :)

MidnightRun · 04/12/2015 00:29

Was a little sad after reading this post that there was no presents I was really excited about giving this year as dh chose his gift and didn't want anything else. We like to give each other stockings of little novelty gifts each year though so after spending the evening thinking up some Ideas I got him a baby grow for our first child due in the New Year, with a quote from his favourite film (but also a very funny quote on a baby grow) £5 gift but I'm excited about it. He's got the best laugh so I just hope he finds it as funny as i do!

Ps.. Crying over the knitting bag for surrogate granny, lovely idea!!

nattyknitter · 04/12/2015 00:40

We were chatting the other day about our favourite part of Christmas when we were little. We all agreed it was our stockings. I used to meet up with my brother in his room to go through them together while waiting for parents to get up so we could go downstairs to do big presents under the tree. It was the silliest little things we used to love, blank cassette tapes and daft stuff like that.

Mum (now in her 70s) mentioned how much she loved her stocking too. This is probably why ours were so good. Then it hit me. She hasn't had a Christmas stocking since she was young before she married at 16. I'm putting one together for her this year. I already have quite a few little knick nacks to put in and a few more things planned. I'm doing to put it on her door after she has gone to bed on Christmas eve. This is my first Christmas in the UK after living abroad for years, so I can't wait.

ohtheholidays · 04/12/2015 01:04

Amazing looking record player and some records for our second oldest DS17 I think he'll probably shriek when he opens it all,he's wanted one for a few years now.

Camcorder for our youngest DD8,she's autistic and is obsessed with pictures and filming and she has no idea that we've bought her this and we know she will twirl around the room, flapping her little hands whilst she squeals with delight. Her response to things like that always bring a lump to the throat and a tear to the eyes of myself,DH and her 3 big brothers and her big sister.

Lovely presents I found for DMIL(she rescues cats)spent alot on her this year and found some lovely artistic bits that have cats and kittens on them that she will really love.

For DFIL a tassimo coffee machine,a selection of coffees for the machine and a lovely personalized cup that has a Christmas picture youngest DD made printed on the front.I think DFIL will cry and they'll both tell me of and say I spent to much on them.

I've always loved giving presents to others, even when I was really little.I usually spend ages looking for just the right gift and I can't wait till everyone opens they're gifts we've got them this year.Smile

jamtartandcustard · 04/12/2015 08:45

It sounds so sad but an electric toothbrush for dh! We've never had them and he's been after one for years but there's always something else requiring our money. I asked what he wanted for Xmas and he really couldn't think of anything so just said cash towards a holiday so it's going to be a nice surprise and i know he'll love it. It's just the whole concept of getting a toothbrush for Xmas, really? We must be getting old.
I know my boys will adore what I've got them, it was toys they've asked for so no huge surprises as such. Though I have bought dd ticket to ride, which she hasn't asked for but I know she really wants (my cousins have it and she gets so excited when they visit as it means she can play it) so I'm really looking forward to seeing her face opening that.
The only other present I'm excited impatient to give is another grandchild/great-grandchild to our parents/grandparents. Hopefully it will be an early Xmas present. Really hoping (38+4 today and soooo fed up!)

MsDarksbane · 04/12/2015 09:47

I'm proposing on Christmas Eve. So that.

Also got my sisters tickets to go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour (with me, naturally) which is a close second.

Peanutbutterfingers · 04/12/2015 10:03

My mum has redone her kitchen and has not stopped talking about it for months! She bought herself a couple of nice Le Creuset accessories, I've got her the matching coffee press and mugs, she will be really really touched :)

Our old Wii broke a few months ago, ds (5) has been told we will look in the sales after Christmas as I can't possibly afford a new console. I'm going to give him Minecraft and Lego Marvel for Xbox 360 and tell him we can look for the console in sales, he wants an Xbox so much after playing on his friends but accepts it's just not possible. Then I'm going to produce the 360 and watch him lose his mind 😄 (its second hand but he will neither notice nor care)

I can't wait 3 more weeks!

MrsCharlesBrandon · 04/12/2015 10:08

The laptop we've bought DD1. She's asked for vouchers so she could save for one. Dd2's lava lamp, and Ds's yoda clock.

I've got dh a build your own millennium falcon kit, he'll be over the moon!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 04/12/2015 10:19

Kids have asked for money towards an XBox - they know that Father Christmas does not bring such big presents to this house, so are saving up.

They will be getting an X Box. Bringing it out last. I anticipate screaming.

JustDanceAddict · 04/12/2015 10:22

PS4 for DS. He has been going on about having one for ages and talks about it constantly. He's 11 and has Had with a wii since he was very young, but it's time for an upgrade. We're Jewish so he gets it on Sunday for Chanukah and I can't wait to see his face!! We've got him Fifa 16 to go with it and he will be delighted!!! He thinks he's getting a small present.

tuilamum · 04/12/2015 10:23

I'm putting together a massive photo frame (42 photos) for my nan with all her DGC (and now one DGGC) and I'm sort of hoping for tears... Happy tears obviously Grin

coffeeisnectar · 04/12/2015 10:27

My two girls have new laptops. They have no idea. We will put them tuner the tree in the conservatory. The rest of the presents will go in the living room so laptops will be found after. Can't wait to see their faces.

I don't have any big presents for dp but I have got him a book and dvd about the Falklands which he will love so looking forward to seeing him open them.

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 04/12/2015 12:18

My Dad gets a bit sad when all me and my siblings do is give him money towards a new gadget.
He has long wanted to make his own sausages, so I've bought him a mincer, skins and all the herb/crumb mixes so we can create some crazy concoctions while we are both off work. He really wants to attempt curried goat and plantain... I can't wait to see what he says! Xmas ConfusedXmas Grin[santa]

HerbieRidesAgain · 04/12/2015 12:38

My DS2 (21) mentioned he would LOVE to see Kevin Hart and told em that was what he wanted for Christmas, while also saying eh knew they would either be mega expensive or impossible to get, well he has tickets for Kevin Hart in January I can't wait to see his face when he realises he will be going :)
DD2 (24) has tickets to Harry Potter world, and a Thomas Sabo charm to represent this, the charm is a feather - i.e. a Quill but i just know I am going to have to explain the tenuous link lol
DH has several things he knows about but I can't wait to give him the tickets for the Stones exhibition in April - just hope he finds someone else to go with as it really isn't my cup of tea lol

vladthedisorganised · 04/12/2015 12:48

This will sound incredibly worthy, but the thing I'm really excited about is the hamper that I've sent to the ward that looked after my Dad last year. He was on life support through Christmas - the doctors, nurses and consultants in the specialist hospital were absolutely amazing and I wanted to get them all something to say thanks.

I brought in a big selection box last year, but I know it will be a real surprise this year - I don't imagine they get a lot from former patients. Dad has made a very good recovery so it'll be nice to see him back to his old self this Christmas.

ppandj · 04/12/2015 12:54

I have got PIL personalised presents for their first Christmas as grandparents. They will love them (I hope!).
