DS is fixated with curious George and I've managed to get him one without having to sell a kidney to afford it!.

He'll be so happy (I hope!) and I can't wait to see his face Smile

I was really looking forward to giving DH a Lego train set that he apparently asked for at every opportunity as a child but was never allowed.... But I stupidly got it delivered to our house knowing he never opens parcels addressed to me, but he opened it thinking it was something else :( he was still over the moon but I'm gutted!

MurlockedInTheCellarHelpUs · 04/12/2015 13:09

Not a present as such, but at our Christmas meal we're tellling our family that this baby is in fact a boy, the first in an entire generation of 14 babies.

My Dad is going to cry, and I can't wait. Smile

bobsalong · 04/12/2015 13:10

Bill Bailey tickets for DP
it's so hard to buy for him and I wanted to get him something special as its been a hard year and he's had a lot to put up with from me
I hope he will be excited

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 04/12/2015 13:16

I got my dcousin and his wife a little canvas made up of hundreds of photos of them from their travels last year, it only small but I hope they like it.and I got my uncle a wine making kit, he always ends up with clothes or DVDs so I hope it's a hit! We're stone broke so I've had to work hard to get gifts for everyone under a tenner each, and these were my best buys by miles

cantgonofurther · 04/12/2015 15:30

I have got my teen dd some really nice art pencils and pens. She asked for the cheaper ones knowing she is unlikely to get the expensive ones.

My 3 year old will be most excited about the jelly beans in her stocking. She is obsessed with Jelly beans.

MummyWeeble · 04/12/2015 15:57

Such a lovely idea for a thread. I am just place marking for later Xmas Smile

Lillabet · 04/12/2015 20:25

DH is getting an individual coffee maker with travel mug from the DCs, he's going to absolutely love it as he's been lamenting the loss of his bought coffee in the morning before his commute of 40 miles (we're saving for a new house, closer to work funnily enough Xmas Grin). DS 1 is going to love all his presents as it's almost all of what he asked for (and at a really good price too). DD is going to love her "pretties" that I bought from my favourite independent dress shop, got a fabulous bargain on those too. DS 2 is too little to know what's going on, I think he'll just appreciate the pretty lights on the tree Xmas Grin. Beyond immediate family, I think I've done well this year absolutely spot on for everyone, fingers crossed [santa]

HelenaJustina · 04/12/2015 20:31

What a lovely thread.

I'm looking forward to giving DC1 her presents as she has everything on her wish list (it wasn't extensive and expensive!)
Also got fab ticket for DH to an unusual event which he will absolutely buzz about and talk unceasingly about between now and mid-Jan when the event is.
V excited to give my brand-new baby nephew (born today) some gorgeous baby boy bits as I only have girls!

thehomesecretary · 04/12/2015 21:23

I can't wait to give my DD her dolls house. We bought a rather basic wooden one but I have spent the last few months buying bits of furniture for it, painting and wallpapering it- there is even a mini decorated Christmas tree inside. I can't wait to see her little face!!

traviata · 04/12/2015 21:50

More tickets - Dynamo tour tix for DS.

ToastedStoat · 04/12/2015 22:21

Tv for 11 year old ds. He had an old one of ours, then last year we replaced it with a new one but it was much smaller. I underestimated how much more difficult it would make things for him. To his credit in that year he hasn't once complained, even though he has to stand in the middle of his room to play games now (he doesn't have an aerial connection it's just for gaming/dvds.)

Managed to get a larger one cheaper than the small one was in Black Friday deals online.

He knows most of the rest of the stuff he will get because it's things he's specifically asked for but this will be a total surprise and I can't wait to see his face!

Busyworkingmum71 · 04/12/2015 23:10

Have just bought Dd1 (16yo) 2 tickets to see The 1975 at Brixton (we live a 4 hour drive from London). She's never been to a proper gig we are country bumpkins and will be super excited, will make a weekend of it for her and her bff, want to take her to Camden on the Sunday morning as I used to hang out there a lot in my late teens/early twenties. She'll think it's the coolest thing ever!!!

FretYeNot · 04/12/2015 23:27

Cups. Let me explain. My dd's partner has been trying to guess what his birthday present is. One of his guesses was 'a cup', because he broke his. That's not what he's getting for his birthday, but for christmas... a family guy cup, a tea cup, a plastic pint glass, a glass tankard, and a camping mug. I cannot wait to see his face.

FattyNinjaOwl · 04/12/2015 23:30

Aww congratulations auntyhelena

I do love this thread Smile

MamaBear47767 · 04/12/2015 23:57

We have got our 2.5 year old son a baby dolly and a wee buggy for it. He saw it in a shop and loved holding, cuddling and kissing the baby and putting its dummy in and out. We got a bottle as well so he can feed the baby. He's going to be over the moon.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 05/12/2015 00:01

Well one bike has arrived but the other is still awaiting confirmation. What the hell am I going to do if it doesn't turn up? I can't afford to buy another one!

Roobix04 · 05/12/2015 01:47

A little learn how to dress doll for 20mo dd. She loves zips and poppers and things so I think she's gonna adore it.
Got my stepdad a portable power bank for his ipad. He's attached to the thing and travels for work so it'll be really handy. It works on two levels because every time my dd sees him on it she climbs up onto his lap and snuggles in all nice while they look at family photos on it. He cannot say no to this even if he's busy bless him. I've had it engraved with "For Grandpa and dd's photos". I'm so excited!

Kuriusoranj · 05/12/2015 04:12

Is anyone else in floods of tears every time they read this thread? I'm just loving it. This is why I love Christmas so much - it doesn't matter what kinds of shit the world is throwing around, there are dozens of people doing everything they can to bring happiness to the people they love.

You lot are lovely.

MummyWeeble · 05/12/2015 06:35

Yes, Kuriusoranj, I'm in floods of tears too.

pingoose · 05/12/2015 07:05

Bought DH an ice hockey jersey that he saw in Quebec, should have bought and has been talking about ever since. The team doesn't exist anymore so it was really hard to find. Very nervous as I'm unsure of the colour and size, and won't be able to return it, but I know he'll love it and would never buy it for himself!

weechops · 05/12/2015 08:14

This thread is just lovely!

I've got my dh an iPad pro - the biggest screen I could find! I actually got him a mini for his birthday, but our son's tablet broke and dh gave him his without a thought. (He'd only had it 3 days Grin )
Dh works abroad and uses my old crappy tablet to watch Netflix so he's going to be over the moon with this!
I've also made him a photo/scrapbook to take every time he goes away as he misses us so much, should give him some comfort. I'm expecting tears with that one.

Dd (9) Ellie Goulding tickets! I told her I couldn't get any but really I got bloody brilliant seats!

Ds1 (5) - Lionel Messi football boots. He's football daft and has been coveting these. He thought they didn't come in his size. Tiny feet Grin

Ds2 (2) a kitchen and his favourite paw patrol puppy Chase soft toy. Can't wait to see his wee face. His birthday is a week before Christmas so he's getting plenty!

longestlurkerever · 05/12/2015 08:32

A really generous friend who was moving to America has given me one of those mahoosive dollhouses like you see in films, complete with furniture. it's not from father Christmas as she's seen/played with it for hours at his house but she'll be so pleased it's hers!

Badders123 · 05/12/2015 08:46

Dh and I don't exchange gifts (we tend to have a day out somewhere instead)
Neither of my boys have any big items this year (like bikes or tech) but they have lots of smaller stuff I think they will love...nerf guns (they have begged for the new one!) Ps3 games, dvds, toiletries.
Ds1 (12) has a new rugby top and I got a fab deal on a transformers book for him on the black Friday deals :)
Ds2 (7) has got few avenger toys and dress up. Also some Jurassic world stuff.
I think they will like it all :)

Penguito · 05/12/2015 08:48

A trip to Disneyland. Our first family holiday- children are 4+5. They are going to be so excited. We go two weeks after Christmas so I will get a Disney teddy and make some 'Disneyland tickets' on the computer and make the teddy hold them. The 5 year old can read them. I'll cry

longestlurkerever · 05/12/2015 08:51

And I got dh tickets to see Stewart Lee and a babysitting favour from dsis. Our first proper night out since dd2 was born. Ok maybe I'm just as exciting about going out as giving it but think dh will be pleased.
