We are going to Lapland UK in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited! Where has everyone else booked? Would be happy to hear reviews after you've been too Smile we've previously done harrods and chessington garden centre.

We are going to Harrods - we have been every year for the last 9 years.

We have also been to Lapland UK in the past and last year we went to the real Lapland (Finland).

We are also going to see FC at Center Parcs this year but am not holding out great hopes for that one.

Loobylou3 · 08/11/2015 15:42

Lapland for 3 days!! Very excited!

SpottyTeacakes · 08/11/2015 15:52

Guitargirl we had already decided against harrods but last year we couldn't get a slot how did you manage it?!

Is the real Lapland awesome? It's something we would like to do

Guitargirl · 08/11/2015 16:17

Yes, getting Harrods tickets is a massive PITA, I only persevered this year because we have this tradition going. We live in London so we can go after school, weekend slots were impossible to get.

Real Lapland was pretty awesome - a once in a lifetime experience Xmas Grin.

A steam railway with one set of grandparents and to our local airport with the others. can you tell we're a bit nerdy about engineering!!

PotteringAlong · 08/11/2015 16:27

We're going to beamish museum near Durham and are doing the polar express.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 08/11/2015 16:37

foxfieldrailway.co.uk/santaspecials/ This is great if you are Staffordshire way - we went with friends last year and loved it so have booked up to go again this year

BatteryOperatedBoyfriend · 08/11/2015 16:44

We're doing Longleat. Anyone been?

SpottyTeacakes · 08/11/2015 17:04

The railway ones always sound really good! Not been to longleat but would be interested to hear about it.

We are going to Blithbury Reindeer Lodge and I cannot wait. Booked a sleigh ride which DD will hate but I will love it and may just go on my own twice. Has anyone been? Hope everyone had lovely visits.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/11/2015 18:03

I've just given dd her invite to Lapland uk. She's sooooo excited! Xmas Grin

Legoland and a garden centre with grandparents.

BeStrongAndCourageous · 14/11/2015 18:09

The Christmas market where we live has had a lovely Santa's grotto the past two years, so there, probably.

Tidypidy · 14/11/2015 18:09

Probably to see Santa at Stourhead as it was lovely last year and only £5 a child!

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 14/11/2015 18:13

Here in Switzerland Samichlaus visits on the 5/6th December and brings a small hessian sack filled with fruit, nuts and chocolate. In many cities they have a Santa Claus club from where you can hire a Santa Claus and his assistant to come to your house during the first week-10 days of December. You send in advance all the things that your child has improved at this year and where they need to work harder, our Samichlaus will come on 6th December, can't wait!!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/11/2015 18:18

Greater that sounds amazing!!

We did Longleat last year. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED the lanterns and all the Christmas decks, singing tree etc but I wasn't impressed by the Father Christmas! Tried to charge extra for the photo, having already paid £130 or more for the day!
Considering going again this year, but won't be visiting FC there.

ChristmasZombie · 14/11/2015 18:29

We're going to Hatton Country World in Warwickshire. It's meant to be really good. Meeting with Santa, entertainment in the queue, and all the children get a "magic key" to swap for a present in Father Christmas's workshop. Plus, we get to spend the rest of the day at the farm (they have lots of lovely things to do, like bouncy castles, farm animals to feed and small animals to handle, and a nice soft play). We're going the day after DD1's third birthday.

caravanista13 · 14/11/2015 18:34

RHDR Santa Special. Went with DGD last year and it was fab.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 14/11/2015 23:49

Love Longleat at Christmas, we don't do the santa train though.
Also booked for Lapkand UK in a couple of weeks (see you there Spotty!) and can't wait

SpottyTeacakes · 15/11/2015 06:24

Littlemouse have you been before? We're going next week so I will update all about it!

OP posts:
Callmecordelia · 15/11/2015 06:46

Caravanista We've done the RH&DR for the last three years - it's a very special experience. The only reason we aren't this year is because with DH working hours and DD starting school we can't find a time to suit.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 15/11/2015 06:50

Lapland! Well to be fair it's Ennontekio in Finland but it is across the Arctic Circle. Snowmobiles, husky rides, reindeer rides, sledging and a trip through the woods to find Santa. We went 4 years ago and even then aged 4 DS put seeing Santa at the bottom of his favourite bits list. Playing in the snow was the best bit about it for him and for me the reindeer rides were so peaceful and the scenery was magnificent. Can't wait this will be DS2 s first time aged 5.

Tiredemma · 15/11/2015 06:58

guitargirl-
We are also going to see FC at Center Parcs this year but am not holding out great hopes for that one.

The CP one is actually really quite brilliant.

ArthurChristmas · 15/11/2015 08:01

Oooo I am Lapland UK too. Spotty when did your ticket/invite arrive? I had the confirmation email and then nothing since. You have me worried now!
