We are going to Lapland UK in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited! Where has everyone else booked? Would be happy to hear reviews after you've been too Smile we've previously done harrods and chessington garden centre.

Butlins christmas break, it's brilliant :)

Wiifitmama · 17/11/2015 22:12

I just booked tickets for the DreamWorks grotto at Westfield. My kids are older and this looked so fun! I had to upload photos and names and they have been online to send their Santa letter. We did Harrods for many years but the faff with tickets had just become insane.

We've been to Lapland (Finland) twice now. Have the brochure now, hoping to get late availability.

Santa there is absolutely the real deal. It's sooooo magical there, mainly because of the gorgeous deep snow everywhere! We live near the coast so rarely see snow in our neck of the woods. Wink

MrsBungle · 17/11/2015 22:50

New are seeing him at the rainforest cafe this year. Never been before, I'm wondering how they will make the rainforest Christmassy?! Grin

fakenamefornow · 17/11/2015 22:58

Lapland (Finland)! Very excited!

MummyPig24 · 18/11/2015 09:31

We usually go to a lovely local garden centre to see Santa. There is a farm nearby that does a whole "experience" so we might do that this year.

ilovelamp82 · 18/11/2015 10:40

Longleat is great and I got it cheap last year with Tesco clubcard points. We're going to Thomasland this year. Anyone been to see Santa there?

TheJiminyConjecture · 18/11/2015 10:59

We're going to Longleat too, never been at Christmas before so can't wait!

Previous years have done Peppa Pig World and Butlins weekends.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/11/2015 11:02

I'll be waiting for your longleat reviews in preparation for next year Xmas Grin

We went last year as its only about 5 miles from where we live, it was actually really good. We plan to do it again this year

Myfanwyprice · 18/11/2015 13:05

We've booked audley end railway, which is near saffron walden in Essex.

I was really excited when I booked it, but I've now read a few disappointing reviews - would be interested to hear from anyone who's been!

Wish I'd seen the dreamworks at Westfield one sooner - ds would love that. . .

SpikeWithoutASoul · 18/11/2015 20:05

Two of my friends took their kids on the Audley End railway at Christmas last year and both said it was really magical and atmospheric.

Pyjamaface · 18/11/2015 20:08

Jarrolds. Which for non-Norfolk people is a department store in Norwich. Santa is brilliant there, spends ages talking to DS, he gets a really good present and then we have cake in the café.

And it only costs £5 Grin

Myfanwyprice · 18/11/2015 20:16

That's good to hear spike, it does sound lovely on the website Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2015 11:08

Weill be leaving in two hours!! So excited! The dc both have their Christmas jumpers on Xmas Grin

Nostell Priory has a Santa with a real beard. We went there last year and they've hiked the prices up this year but we can't resist going to see the REAL Santa. I'm super excited, never mind the kid!

Here's a pic of their Santa with our son last year. He's great and super friendly :)

That's great to hear Spotty, mine will be so excited when they know. Any tips?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/11/2015 12:39

What time is your slot?

Wear wellies
If you want to eat there turn go straight to the restaurant when you go through to the elf village and do ice skating etc after as everyone else goes straight to skating
If rain is forecast you'll all want umbrellas for when you queue to see Father Christmas.
There was a back log when we went our actual fc slot was 6pm, we got in the queue just after half five and saw fc at about 7.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 22/11/2015 12:55

Going on a weekday so start is 3.30 pm (sneaking my kids out from school straight after lunch, naughty me)

SpottyTeacakes · 22/11/2015 13:01

Sounds good. Our slot was 15:00 so be prepared to be there until 8 although it might not be so busy Smile the restaurant is reasonably priced too £5 a kids meal £10 an adults.

Spotty thats a long wait isnt it? is it really really worth the money would an 8 year old enjoy..

are the buildings pretty and old?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/11/2015 14:23

Yes it was a long wait it didn't feel too bad at the time though. Yes I think an 8 year old would enjoy it and I think it was worth the money it's really well set up bee could never afford the real Lapland and this is second best imo.
