I was snorting at the darned cashmere jumpers. What's wrong with a lovely fleece?

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2015 09:18

I snorting at the trained horses.

My friends went on holiday this year and I didn't. They posted pictures too!!

You know what be happy for other people

tedhis · 27/10/2015 10:06

Christ ted that is a cringy post.We get it. You are friends with proper posh people

The point that I was trying to make is that money doesn't really come into it- its isn't about being rich or poor. They have been my friends since we were at play group so not really posh. I would hate the life tbh- the responsibility is vast.

Have you tried local selling sites on Facebook. Ours have all kinds of stuff going dirt cheap. It's the only way I will be able to get a couple of presents for my daughter but she is only just 2 and won't care in the slightest they are second hand!

Because their jumpers are probably 25 years old and they didn't make fleece then?

Ted, I was trying and clearly failing to be humourous. Your talk of holey cashmere jumpers and a lack of trained horses is about as relatable to me and most of the people on this thread as if they lived on the moon. The people you are friends with are privileged and probably well connected. That is not the same as feeling inadequate ànd miserable if you have to schlep round poundstretcher for Christmas presents with the last few quid in your purse. Although I think you know that.

Nicknack, Im not questioning about posting to support or help people (that goes without saying at times), but one minute you were saying If people were having such a great Christmas with so much stuff you have to ask how they have the time to post on FB which a few people commented on and then I genuinely couldnt understand your next post, especially the bit about white lies.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 27/10/2015 21:20

I love all the Christmas Eve posts of trees and presents and stockings ready for children, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy Smile

I've posted pictures of my tree, my children opening presents on Christmas morning and even our dog laying in a sea of ripped wrapping paper... there's no intention to make anyone feel bad, I just like doing it. My mum likes to see it, my nan will comment about how excited the girls must be, and it's lovely.

I'm definitely doing the box of balloons for my two year old this year, she will go crazy! Grin

OSETmum · 27/10/2015 21:30

laguna I think what nicknack is trying to say is she tells herself that people who are posting on Fb aren't busy having a fun day to make herself feel better (so a white lie to herself).
