PostOfficeTrauma · 01/12/2006 13:04

Went to the Post Office this morning to post my parcel and.... IT IS BEING REFURBISHED!!! So, L in C with children B and A, I'm sorry for the delay but I won't be able to get to another Post Office until monday & will send then. Honestly, you'd think the Post Office would be able to find a better time to close!!

i'm stunned. i just had 3 parcels to open after a trip to the sorting office.

i am actually speechless, someone mark this on the calender as the day I was rendered unable to speak.

Artyjoe, the sorting office guys said the box had been singing! The toys are amazing and dd will enjoy them enormously. The dolly she is going to love as she's always drawn to them at playgroups etc. I am actually overwhelmed by your generosity. I will email you a pic of dd in the dress if I may. Vouchers and chocs too! I cannot thank you enough.

Janerae, what a fabulous selection of toys. How did you know that dd is a budding musician? I am sure she will have as much fun as your dd has. Again I am overwhelmed by your kindness and thoughtfullness. Thank You so very much.

To my 3rd giver, you know exactly who you are and amazingly we already know each other! Thank you, thank you, thank you, my Heinlen collection is entirely open to you! Bruin says Hi!

Well, it would seem my power of speech returned!

You have restored my faith in the kindness of humanity. I will tell dh about this and hope that it will help him too.

A very merry Christmas to everyone and a special thank you to Soapy for pulling this off!

sockmonkey · 01/12/2006 13:49

Val & Ds Thankyou!!!!!!!!! DH says we are going to wrap up the box and keep the things inside a surprise (even though I caught him lifting up the corner to have a look)

B - thank you so much too!

As others have said thank you just doesn't seem big enough a word to describe how wonderful you are... I think I might cry again just thinking about it

lexiemum · 01/12/2006 13:50

JARM - glad you liked the pressies. have managed to get my dh to understand mumsnet a bit more through all this. He read your story and said "right then, don't forget the bloke" and proceeded to rummage through his presents and said send this! dh is ex-forces so there is some kind of undescrible link between him and anyone associated with the forces.

JARMgotstuckupthechimney · 01/12/2006 13:52

thanks LM

I really mean it - it has meant SO much to us. The girls stockings are now DONE thanks to you.

It has made such a difference xxx

SockmonkeysSanta · 01/12/2006 13:59

Hi sockmonky ? you are very, very welcome.
Just wanted to say that if by ?we are going to wrap up the box and keep the things inside a surprise? you mean that you haven?t had a proper look through it yet, you might just want to have a quick look for a card in there somewhere ? say no more!!!

V+B

Miaou · 01/12/2006 14:06

Aw lexiemum, that is so lovely of your dh!! I reckon there must be a warm ready-brek style glow over much of Britain just now ...

B, i got a card from you today with some money in it to spend on myself, thank you i'm stunned at your generosity and thoughtfulness. i think dp and i might abandon the kids for a night and go to the cinema, we haven't been out since dd was 8 weeks old! we'll toast you with our popcorn

MrsBojangles · 01/12/2006 14:15

PaddleChick say hi back to BRUIN and might raid your Heinlein collection after all at some stage

Paddlechick666 · 01/12/2006 14:19

i'll give bruin your message on xmas day when he has been opened!

thanks for doing all that wrapping too!

piximon · 01/12/2006 14:34

Thank you so much to our secret santa in Stockport for the beautifully wrapped shoebox we received this morning. Once again DH was rendered speachless and I was left in (happy) tears. We haven't peeked but the DCs are so excited and beamed their way through breakfast.

comebacksummer-DS is quite girly in many ways and is always pestering me for pink things so you have nothing to fear on that front! Thanks to you I bought the DC an advent callendar each which they will enjoy for the whole month and some lovely foodie treats for us all to enjoy. I also (not very christmassy but hope you don't mind) bought a replacement part for the toilet which has been broken for a month now so will think of you every time I flush!

Thanks again to all our santas you have all made such a difference this year from V+C with A+L+2

Rhubarb · 01/12/2006 15:02

Thank you to the lady at Little Green Nursery for my brilliant treats that I shall use over Christmas! I have emailed you my thanks but thought I would publicise your brilliant company too!

And to my other giver in Brighton who I spoke to today - words fail me. You are a saint!

OMG! I just had a knock at the door and a big box was delivered full of toys. There is no note (that i could find?) so i have no clue who its from and who to thank.

It had some pop-ons (i think the name is) and a winnie the pooh bath toy included in it.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! One or two of those things are suitable for a friends son who has Cerebal Palsy so I will give them to him as he is v poorly atm. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
