Your parcel arrived today - what a lovely surprise! Some beautiful clothes and pjs for the dds, a lovely winter coat for ds - and he hasn't got one, so that was just a wonderful bonus! And the books are just perfect for dd1 - she loves that series and afaik she hasn't read any of those ones!

What a fab person you are - you have enriched our Christmas and I just can't wait to get wrapping and to see the kids' faces on Christmas day

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 30/11/2006 13:44

Thank you so much to "Danny, age 12" who sent my children a parcel this morning containing a lovely winter coat, some PS2 games, a DVD and a gamepad.

You are an absolutely fantastic young man and your mum should be very proud of you. By Christmas you will have helped make my children very happy.

((((love and hugs))))) to you. xxxxxxx

I just got home from taking my gran to have a blood test to find the postie had left an evelope with some lovely stocking fillers for dd Pony charm bracelet and the dancer slides will go down well with my 4 yr old dancer who is pony mad. Then to my suprise I opened the card to find gift vouchers as well. Am completly over whelmed. When this started the most I was expecting was a few perviousley loved items to cheer christmas up a bit. This has gone way beyond any of our expectations.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE LOVELY PERSON WHO SENT THESE ITEMS AND TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS.

So, if you are F with boys Z and M, Can I just say that I did post out your parcel on Monday, but was stingy and did it parcelforce! I dont want you to feel like the only person who hasnt received yet, as so many others have had their goodies. Unless you didnt know you are a reeiver, in which case this has just spoilt the suprise Also, I have tried to search for you using the few details I have, but cant work out who you are so hope the gifts are suitable.

OneofQVsSantas · 30/11/2006 15:31

QV - I am still waiting for some shopping to be delivered and then it will be wrapped and sent your way. You've not finished receiving just yet!

A massive thank you to those who sent to S with A & A in EY. A wonderful selection of stuff for both the boys who will be beaming on Christmas morning, vouchers, a letter saying a parcel is on the way and something all wrapped up for me (I want to open it but I'm resisting)

I wish I had shares in Kleenex, I've gone through a boxful today.

I LOVE MUMSNET AND I LOVE YOU ALL

VeniVidiVickiQV · 30/11/2006 16:23

We could do with one of these sort of emoticons

comebacksummer · 30/11/2006 16:30

Piximon- SO glad the parcel arrived! My dds were so excited when I told them- although the elder one can't believe that your kids will have to wait to Chrimble Day to open them all! And btw, if you fancy the two girls (and the kitchen sink although it really isn't too clean!!!)too please let me know.. you're obviously a glutton for punishment with 4 kids (soon anyway.. I assume you haven't had the twins yet?) so my two horrors won't make much difference I'm sure..
Seriously, we really hope they like all or some of it- it was sent with love for a super Christmas for you all
xxx ps good luck with the twins!

Dingle · 30/11/2006 16:44

Hello lovely people!!!! I've not been around much recently! I've been fighting the LEA to try to get Amelia assessed. She has started mainstream school and apparently it seems Amelia is the only child with Down Syndrome that doesn't need classroom support!

TBH we have been going through a really rough time, I have been coming home from the school run and crying my eyes out, so frustrated that all my hard work with Amelia over the last 5 years will just be wasted as she is lost in a classroom with no specialist knowlegde or support!

Things are slowly improving;at last the school have acknowledged my concerns and with that the LEA backed down the day before I submitted all Amelia's casework into the tribunal services! If only having a child with a disabilty could simply be "caring for your child!"

My time is just so precious and once the children are in bed all I have the energy for is to curl up on the sofa and sleep. Time for me & DH just hasn't happened and I feel the whole family has been affected by the pressure.
On top of all our personal battles, I have agreed to become treasurer to a new charity we are setting up! Our little local Down Syndrome group is growing and we are becoming Kentwide!!! It is extra pressure on us, but deep in my heart, hopefully it may ease the battle for others in the group when their time comes for schooling!

Anyway, enough of my waffle. With all that in mind, you can imagine my reaction when some Odeon vouchers dropped through my letterbox. It could not have been a better choice. I hope you don't think too badly of my saying that me and hubby will be going out without kiddies for once- we haven't been to the pictures as a couple for years! BIG THANK YOU to Claire. {{{{{hugs}}}}}}

Yesterday I was taken aback yet again when £20 M&S vouchers arrived!!! The message said " On behalf of MN. With love from DXXX & boys. Please use to buy a couple of bottles of wine for Xmas day!" Again, it is so appreciated that you have thought of our needs as parents. Big THANK YOU DXXX! {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Also, to whoever nominated us- thank you for thinking of us. You must have know what a bad time we were going through!

Lastly, a huge thank you to Soapy!!! This must have been a mammoth task. I have shed an awful lot of tears over the last few months, but the last few day have been extra special tears for all the extra special people who have found all this kindness in their hearts.

THANK YOU!!!!

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 30/11/2006 17:32

Dingle (((hugs))).. why indeed does everything involving parenting an SN child have to be a battle I know the curl-up-on-the-sofa feeling.. except many evenings I am on the poolside and sometimes fall asleep there!!

It's fab that your parcels have made you feel a little better.. I'm not repsonsible for them.. I just wanted to send you a hug as you sound like you need one

whoopsfallenoveragain · 30/11/2006 18:02

Dingle - I'm glad the vouchers arrived. They were intended for you and your dh I realised I didn't make that too clear!! I hope you have a lovely time

{{{hugs}}} For you too!

hertsnessex · 30/11/2006 19:50

To my giver I got your wonderful parcel today some beautiful clothes for A and T, a little present for me and some wrapping things, it really is too much I don't even know who nominated me. I feel I don't deserve it as although I moan enough on here I am sure there are plenty much worse off than we are. I am writing this is tears, I love mumsnet I really do, I hope we do this every year, next Year hopefully I can be a giver.

To MR from Liverpool - I will be sending your parcel next week. Things have been a bit hectic this week and I've not had a chance to get to the post office.

Hope you and your family have a great Christmas. x

JARM · 30/11/2006 20:49

I have jsut sat with DH and gone through my box of goodies from Lexiesmum - all I can say is OH MY WORD!

There is so much stuff in there, and I cant believe it was all for me and the family. 4 presents wrapped just for me, one for DH, and a whole box of goodies for the girls - their santa stockings are going to be full to bursting!!

I really cannot thank you enough, you are so so norty, but so so so grateful. The girls are going to have the best christmas now.

I love you all - my givers have done themselves proud and made one family walk on air. You are truly amazing and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

What an amazing place this is, Im proud to be a part of this community xxxx

pesha · 30/11/2006 20:57

OMG - received a package on monday and have emailed my lovely giver already to say thankyou for that and have now received another package today from S and 20 month old R for myself S and dd M. Am so excited, its all wrapped up and although S says to let M open hers if she wants im not sure, it feels like cheating to open it before xmas!! And I've not opened mine yet but it smells lovely Thank you so so sooo much. And the card with the christmas dec on is really lovely.

I have been feeling really down lately for various reasons but this has really cheered me up and made me cry, but I'm pg so everything makes me cry anyway!

I have been feeling guilty and thinking we dont really deserve this as we would still have had a christmas without this and I know there are people who wouldnt have although this will make such a difference to us. But I have decided that to beat myself up about this is disrespectful to my wonderful givers, they have put themselves out to do something wonderful to make my family really happy this christmas so for me to sit around thinking oh do i really deserve this ruins that and is just plain rude!

So thank you thank you thank you!!!!

secretsantaclaus · 30/11/2006 21:03
