1000 replies

soapbox · 24/11/2006 19:27

I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

OP posts:

AT in normandy france with H, F & M - i went to post your parcel today and cause i dot have yr postcode the buggers wouldnt accept it for posting. soapbox - any way to get it??

weeonion · 02/12/2006 16:02

maybe i am sendig to the same as FrannyandZooey???? how come you were able to get in touch via email?

Soapythelistmaker · 02/12/2006 16:57

Weeonion - I have tried - several times to get her postcode, but I think she must be in the midst of moving atm - as she said she was on one of hte threads.

Some MNetters requested to speak directly to the person receiving their gifts and provided the receiver agreed, I put them in touch with each other

Santasbitontheside · 02/12/2006 17:07

I didn't get matched to a reciever

But.....................................

I still can't stop whenever I read this thread.

Santasbitontheside · 02/12/2006 17:09

weeonion · 02/12/2006 20:11

soapy the lsist maker - i know you are probably still snowed under wth al this but could you possibly email AT with H, F & M and ask her to get in touch with me as i want / need to get a way to get this parcel to her?

thank you thank you

homemama · 02/12/2006 20:27

Soapy, not sure if it's too late to join in but I have lots of toys and clothes which I could contribute. Also happy to donate vouchers.

The other thing is (sorry if this has been offered by others and rejected already) but I am happy to deliver them personally within 10mile radius if that's helpful and quicker. Also happy to collect from local givers and deliver to local receivers if that would help with time constraints etc. Happy to pick up/drop from 3rd party if people want to protect identity.

Please CAT me if I can participate and/or help with the deliveries.
Congratulations on a beautiful thread. (Can you tell I'm full of post natal hormones!)

Soapythelistmaker · 02/12/2006 20:34

Weeonion - I have emailed her a few times and am getting no response - as soon as I hear from her I'll put her in touch with you

oops · 02/12/2006 20:40

Message withdrawn

homemama · 02/12/2006 21:47

Soapy, I've emailed basically what I said above. The reason I suggested CAT was so as not to overload your inbox if full of receivers needing matches.

Hope I can help as a giver and possibly to help with local matching if that would help you get through more, quicker.

xmasmummy · 02/12/2006 21:50

homemama- where abouts are you? the appeal has closed but if you want to be rid of these things can prob find a way of helping you do it???

Soapythelistmaker · 02/12/2006 21:53

xmasmummy - I had a couple of late comers on the receiving front - so I matched the few late coming givers to them - I really didn't like the idea of people missing out on a little bit of help

homemama · 02/12/2006 22:05

Ok, I knew I was a bit late. Totally understand. Maybe next year.

xmasmummy, Surrey/hants border.

Soapythelistmaker · 02/12/2006 22:06

Homemama - you should have had a reply from me?????

xmasmummy · 02/12/2006 22:06

there are quite a few badlt off families near me at the moment- none of them on mn but could do with a bit of xmas cheer xxx

homemama · 02/12/2006 22:15

Haven't had anything yet, Soapy. My hotmail account has been a bit ropey of late so it may be that it's taking a while or that it didn't send mine. I'll check again in the morning, if nothing then I'll resend my message from the AOL account. Thanks
