I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

OP posts:

I have been matched with S-L R with 2 DD's. Am sorting Ebay courier to do delivery.Soapbox kindly helped pay for that for me. Am waiting for them to get in touch re pick up/delivery dates.

hertsnessex · 29/11/2006 21:57

ok, so just hit an ebay shop and bought some magnetic letters and magnetic numbers, a jenga game, a fishing game, some snap animal cards, and a craft/paint/drawing/sticking set. i emailed the shop seller to ask for a reduced postage aswell (well if im in the xmas spirit, i hope they can be too!) hopefully these will be in ENFIELD asap.

merry christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lexiemum · 29/11/2006 22:03

im buying new because everything I have will be needed for babies 2 onwards.... but I think most are giving all or most not new.

Soapythelistmaker · 29/11/2006 22:25

Lisalisa - some people are buying a gift - but the vast majority are sending pre-loved items

Fattymumma · 29/11/2006 22:25

OMG! someone nominated me and i have just ( well this morning) received a Voucher for Amazon.

it has taken me till this time tonight to be able to speak. I just kept reading it trying to look for the mistake.

Whoever nominated me, Thank you. I didn't put myself forward as there have been so many threads recently from people who are having a far worse time than me. This is my first christmas just me and the kids and although i had excepted the fact that it wouldn't be a dream christmas the fact that it would a nice peacefull one was enough for me....but this.....WOW.

This gesture has just knocked me for 6. when i realised that someone had nominated me and that somneone had actually gone out of their way to send me something, i was in floods, and thinking about it again now im blubbing again now.

I really must get a grip, this doesn't do my "mean bitch" reputation any good at all.

So beneath this rambling what i am trying to say is that S, A and 17 month old O....I am so gratefull i cannot even think of words that could say it efficiantly...and i certainly wouldn't be able to spell them even if i could.

a huge huge thank you from me (M with G&E, in West Sussex) and my kids, they don't know it yet but they will be very very happy thanks to you.

Flamesparrow · 29/11/2006 22:26

My DD is 3.6 and would LOVE a tea set

I don't know anything about my recievers - I just told soapy what I had to offer and she found people they would suit

JARM · 29/11/2006 22:26

it was set up as a "pass on what you no longer need" but a lot of people wanted to donate new or vouchers because they didnt have anything to pass on.

its fine - second hand is FABBO! I love second hand!!!

In fact - I BLOODY LOVE YOU ALL!!! xxx

JARM · 29/11/2006 22:28

i knew you were up for it fattymumma!!! HA HA HA!!!

munz · 29/11/2006 22:29

soapy, any chance you could forward my recievers email address so I can ask when she'll be in next week for delivery - i'll work around her for the days but I was going to use either the payperdrop or the other one on ebay for 3.99 depending on which one mnetters thought was better either that or if it's not too much bother would you mind emailing her for me I did try CAt'ing but the lady i'm 99% sure if it doesn't accetp CAT's. thanks.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 29/11/2006 22:30

I only have 2nd hand to send. Can't afford to buy for my own DC so better to re-use clothes that i have!
