I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

OP posts:

Well done Soapy. Hope you manage to get some rest before christmas.

mummyhill · 29/11/2006 09:39

Got my match S with A and T your parcel will be despatched By Wednesday at the latest.

TjacksonpfcSanta · 29/11/2006 09:44

Hey TjacksonPFC - just been matched, and I think I may be your giver - are your LOs' initials R and A?

misdee · 29/11/2006 09:45

thank you L for my card.

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 29/11/2006 09:49

'S" you will hopefully receive your parcel for your two DDs tomorrow or Friday. Not sure whether to send it recorded or not? Let me know which you would prefer. Anyone else know what to do and which option is preferable - recorded or normal delivery?

Merry Christmas and hugs to you and your little ones from my DD

laudaud · 29/11/2006 09:54

Yippee - vouchers arrived in the post today so I will be writing cards tonight and posting off tomorrow

Home made cards or shop bought?

artyjoe · 29/11/2006 10:57

I consider myself a very tough cookie and very rarely cry, but today, probably because I'm sending my parcel out today which is full of goodies, reading these threads has me in tears.

This world can be full of really awful people, but this thread proves the good ones will always outbalance those who let us down.

My heart is full of pride and joy for everyone who has contributed towards another persons Christmas, with love.

Joe xx

MrMiaou · 29/11/2006 11:02

Well as the biggest bah humbug christmas hating cynic I know may I officially say, with floods of tears streaming down my face, that you folks are the living embodiement of everything that Christmas is supposed to be about.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for proving to me that the true spirit of Christmas lives on.

St Nicholas would be proud of you.

You have all given to me probably the two greatest gifts that I could receive at this time of year.

Happy children that are going to be opening presents on Christmas morning, and for me personally a renewed believe in the goodness, kindness and generosity of spirit of people. Thank you all my friends I've never met.

And if anyone wants to send me a box of real mansize tissues or a kitchen roll I will be eternally grateful

JARM · 29/11/2006 11:04

Soapythelistmaker · 29/11/2006 11:13

Well since we are all having 'watery' moments - here is an email I received from a lovely MNetter

Edited to protect identity of course

"Anyway, it was mentioned on the original thread that you deserve a thank you collection for all of your hard work and you said (something along the lines of ) that just knowing that christmas will be a bit easier for some families this Christmas would be enough. Well, in that spirit, as my own thank you to you, I have gone to the world vision website and bought clean water for a family - so thank you from them too!"

How wonderful is that

pudding77 · 29/11/2006 11:14
