1000 replies

soapbox · 24/11/2006 19:27

I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

OP posts:

i have a match. i am sending the stuff i have boxed already, but have just ordered a little extra for each child, it was nice to be buying something that isnt pink! lol.

PinkTinsel · 28/11/2006 23:05

opinions everyone, i'm sending a clothing item, not a xmas item so i've signed the card from my kids instead of santa... do you think that's ok? i've written on the envelope to open it right away as it's something i presume the child needs immediately in this weather

Soapythelistmaker · 28/11/2006 23:14

Okay - well I think that everyone should have a match now - some 1500 emails later

If not then do email me with 'unmatched giver' in the subject matter so that I can spot it in my inbox.

At the end of this week, I will clear out all of the emails from the soapbox1964 account - it seems wrong to keep personal information and email addresses etc.

It also means thought that I will have no idea who sent what to whom - so that is up to you all to remember

I hope that people will enjoy both the giving and receiving that will happen between now and Christmas and remember what the real point behind all of this was - just to make Christmas day a bit more fun for the children and to stop some hardpressed mums from feeling stressed about the day

Now all it remains for me to do is to distribute 20 Christmas trees, sweets, cakes, baby clothes, a box load of the most divine todder toys and the GLTC box when it arrives

There are still Christmas trees going, if anyone who hasn't asked already wants one
