soapbox · 24/11/2006 19:27

I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

OP posts:

Hello someone who's a receiver but hasn't has anything yet. I've just got your details and I'll be sorting it all out over the weekend, didn't want you to think you'd been forgotten.....obviously this only works for my matchee but I thought I'd post it here anyway....it makes me sound slightly la-la but what the hell

puddytats · 28/11/2006 13:32

Soapy quick question. One of the people has i am sending to has Dx2. I am assuming that this is 2 daughters and i am sending to them as well as the mum? If that is the case can i contact her to know ages so i can make sure the gifts i send are suitable for the ages - i hope that this makes sense to you!!

donnie · 28/11/2006 13:38

me too welshmum! I only just got my match as well - I want my matchee to know but don't want to give away her details, I suppose I could say she is in Gravesend with a 4 yr old dd....could I ? will be posting in the next few days.

Soapythelistmaker · 28/11/2006 13:40

Puddytats - sorry - was cutting and pasting from the spreadsheet - just mum

puddytats · 28/11/2006 13:46

Ok!! Thank you!

SoMuchToBits · 28/11/2006 13:48

I posted mine yesterday, and my receiver has received it already! - how's that for the postal service?

Paddlechick666 · 28/11/2006 14:25

I've been matched so I'm very excited.

Unfortunately dd has been ill so we've had a spell in hospital. got home to find my matching info and really cheered me up.

anyway, i've got a baby boy so if that might be you then sit tight. I'll get onto asap but may take a couple of days due to dd still being poorly.

laudaud · 28/11/2006 16:21

Donnie - I have the same person as you & i will be posting Monday at the latest.. oh it's so exciting

saltire · 28/11/2006 17:41

I have my match, but don't know their MN name. Their first name begins with C, and they have a J (dd) age 8 and an A (ds)age 6.
We are all floored with this tummy bug that's doing the rounds, so you may not get a parcel from me until the weekend, as we can't go too far at the moment

donnie · 28/11/2006 17:52

hey scooby - snap!!!! will try to post mine tomorrow but mihgt not make it!!

munz · 28/11/2006 18:39

weeonion · 28/11/2006 21:09

PinkTinsel · 28/11/2006 21:11

yay, i got my match thought my meagre offering had been forgotton about!

Miaou · 28/11/2006 21:18

Ooooh, I am so excited!!!

Just spent about an hour reading through this thread. It makes me feel so good! Restores my faith in human nature. And what comes across so strongly is how much fun the givers are having. It's so lovely

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 28/11/2006 21:24

I posted a huge box today, I hope it is still in one piece when it arrives there!!!!! Apologies to my receivee... the black bin bag round the box wasn't doing much for it when it left Ireland this morning!!

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/11/2006 21:26

I got a match. I'm just not sure if I can afford to post anything. Its only 2nd hand girls clothes but im sure they will be useful.

xmasmummy · 28/11/2006 21:59

bump to top xx

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 28/11/2006 22:09

SB in E with M aged 5
I will be posting tomorrow.
Don't want you to think you have been forgotten.
Tis my terrible organising skills that is my undoing.

hulababy · 28/11/2006 22:15

My parcel will be sent out on Monday - so long as payperdrop collect from me as arranged! It is supposed to be next day delivery, so should be with my match on Tuesday.

I believe my receiver is a secret nominated one. It's not a lot, but hope the items come in useful for your children.

SoMuchToBits · 28/11/2006 22:18

I was a bit worried about should i send it special delivery etc. but sent it ordinary 1st class and it arrived reaally fast!

julienetmum · 28/11/2006 22:18

I've not been matched with anyone as yet. I'm slightly disapointed but I realise this is a huge undertaking. I didn't have much to give, just a £10 high street voucher I had from an incentive scheme at work, some luncheon vouchers and a few children's books.

If I don't get matched with a receiver I will use the vouchers to buy something nice for a family with a terminally ill dd who is the same age as my dd.
