Brace yourselves and form an orderly queue.

XMas clock.com says 357 (plus 14 hours)

Ok, I have picked up another present this week (posh shower gel to go with her preferred perfume for DSis).

I have started, in a very small way, on the princessing. I need to improve my efforts here in the next few weeks.

The HGP is very much on the back burner - hall got no attention, and nothing done in living room either this week. Maybe over the weekend, once I've caught up on normal housework, and on sleep, and recovered from cold/wedding combined, I might manage to get stuck back into it again.

I did buy Halloween decorations this morning though!! Bloody tablecloths for kitchen table (we usually have neighbours in after trick or treating, to go through the haul while parents have a bite to eat and some wine), and a few other bits.

I'm de-cluttering the box room (it's where all the 'junk' gets stored but my guinea-pigs move in their in winter, it's a cooler room. Don't want them to think I've morphed into Corries Cathy with her hoarding tendancies)

I'm holding off the grand declutter until half term.

What a joy that holiday will be Xmas Grin.

OrnamentalAsAnything · 19/09/2015 19:55

Bought three new tree decorations! Xmas Decs are out already! Managed to find one with my name on, so had to buy it - never had anything with my name when I was a child, but it's really popular now. Got a matching one with DH's ever-popular name, but poor DC will have to do without. Got a 'Santa Stop Here' one too.

Also decluttering here (except Xmas stuff).

I love some of the John Lewis decorations (I bought some M&S ones last year that were gorgeous)

I managed to get some deep cleaning done yesterday, but my DM was ill and needed guest bed for the day (twas complicated) - and that was my planned room. I also couldn't hoover anywhere as she was sleeping. But I did do both bathrooms thoroughly, mop downstairs (properly) and got the guest room mostly done before she arrived. And bed was stripped again last night after she left, so I just need to remake the bed.

I need to take some time off though to get on top of some house stuff. And I am waiting to hear exactly when the new wardrobes are being fitted to be able to do my room and do the seasonal clothes changes.

I plan on buying dried fruit next weekend, and getting a batch of mincemeat going then.

Bought some stocking fillers. Mainly focused on the soon-to-be five-year old's party in a couple of weeks, but once that is done I am all systems go!

Biddy, hope your ma is better soon.

Thanks Ornamental, she was a lot better even going back home having slept a lot of the day rather than standing in a cold (and wet) stadium at a match.

Bought the last bits I need for flower arrangements and candle arrangements yesterday. Looked at lights, but can't justify the cost.

Decided on DD's big present and that there will be NO MORE than that apart from small stocking.

Otherwise, made progress on seasonal paperwork (house insurance, back to school resource teacher forms, utility bills paid, etc).

Batteries need to go on this weekend's list....

Rudy Day is a planning and Christmas enjoyment day - every 25th of the month.

It's a day to review your lists, make your plans, set aside some time with paperwork and a nice coffee/hot choc/whatever in your Christmas mug, perhaps listen o some Christmas music or watch a Christmas movie etc. Look at websites and think about gifts to suit those on your list - maybe even order some ahead of time and put them away.

See Rudolph Club for a bit more info. But I usually use it as a reminder to check my lists and turn on Merry Christmas Radio (I listen on Live365 internet radio) while I do my housework etc.

BiddyPop · 25/09/2015 10:26

Working on lists - saw a few books yesterday that I will get for a couple of people. Pondering the wisdom of Christmas PJs this year, or just a nice wintery pair for me (am in need of a few winter pairs to replace worn out ones and I still have 3 old pairs of Christmas ones).

Need to work on housework, a lot, this weekend. And I want to buy dried fruit to make mince meat, Christmas cake and perhaps try a batch of Christmas Pudding Whiskey - that sounds intriguing!

I was ogling meat in Costco yesterday (hadn't a flipping clue what I was looking at TBH, I'm a vegetarian. The butchers must've thought I was a right weirdy pervert looking at them while pretending to read a packet of Scotch Mince Blush )

I'm debating whether to trundle there or stand for an hour at our local butchers.
Still deciding what type of non vegetarian produce I want to buy.............

Wheee it's getting closer Xmas Grin Ordering my niece and nephews presents tomorrow and I need to get cracking. I'll be 30 weeks pregnant (all being well) at Christmas so I would like to get most of the present shopping done by the end of October. I think most of it will be done from my sofa Grin

BiddyPop · 28/09/2015 10:45

Not a lot done, but I have made my mince meat and put that in a large kilner to mature. (Although, I have yet to make my sloe gin and that uses the same kilner, and I had planned to make limoncello this year too, again needs the same kilner - I may have to invest in a second one....).

And we did have a family chat last night, and agreed to try to get tickets for a panto locally. And that I may get tickets to go to Carols by Candlelight alone, as no one else wants to go.

Paperblank · 30/09/2015 20:41

70 that's the plan Grin I will shop in comfort whilst indulging in yummy hot chocolate, warm mince pies and Christmas tubes playing softly in the background. I believe it is good for the baby ha ha.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/09/2015 20:48

My DS was due 30th Nov 1999 (he was a week late, )
Pre- internet shopping I went to Sainsburys and terrified the poor woman at the checkout.

"Millenium Baby"? she asked.
"Tomorrow Baby" I replied "but he won't arrive tomorrow, he hasn't shifted /engaged "

I could see her reaching for her hot water ,soap and a towel in true James Herriot style Grin

Maybe if I'd say a mince pie on my bump DS wouldn't have been such a demon Grin
