Brace yourselves and form an orderly queue.

XMas clock.com says 357 (plus 14 hours)

Happy New Year to one and all. Hope 2015 is a good one Smile

Grin Grin Grin!

It's a good job I didn't get into any arguments on FB when people were putting up the 'wrong' number.

Ha! Whenever I mention The Christmas Word in real life, I get the eyerolling .
They wouldn't have a clue how many days there are (might know how many paychecks perhaps?)

Not making any progress this week - the family wedding on Friday is taking up all my spare bandwidth in my brain (and there's not a lot of that spare at any time).

I am panicking about it, I know that - I nearly blew the entire hot water system last night as I forgot the immersion was on for a bath.

When I get home though, going into the double digits, that's a bit of a scary thought....

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/09/2015 21:27

And I might have taken advantage of M&S special half price offer on the Swiss chocolates.
I'm not saying that I did but I did I might have visitors so I need some nice treats tucked away.

BiddyPop · 15/09/2015 10:37

"Don't panic Mr Mannering, don't panic!"

Actually, my Aunt has always said that no-one is to panic unless she starts to panic. It will all get done. Of course, if she panics, we are all then allowed to do the headless chicken impression. But meanwhile, we all act like graceful swans gliding across the top of the water, while underneath our legs are paddling madly........

I am in the swan state at the moment, but rapidly heading towards the chicken as I feel like there's not a lot done in reality. There is a certain amount, but I am behind compared to most years.

100 days to go and the Permets household starts its countdown. DH won't let me count down until today. We have a Christmas pudding and this morning I wandered down the Tesco seasonal aisle and had to concentrate on not dancing a jig.

Happy happy happy.

I was out at lunch on an errand that didn't take as long as I feared, so I popped into the nice wine merchant that I frequent for naice bottles (special occasions and the like - not your average Friday night "I need wine - now!!" bottles). Had a nice chat with the guys there, and picked up 2 nice bottles of white for Christmas dinner.

There's only DH and I, so I don't need loads. But last year I did splash out and get 2 nice bottles that suited turkey - one we drank on the day and the other we drank another night about 6 weeks later. But we had the option of continuing on if we wanted. (We're pretty good at opening a bottle and corking it again once we've had enough, but I reckoned that Christmas could be a 2 bottle day, potentially).

I want to get some bubbles for earlier in the day, while doing presents. Or we might start the turkey wine early.

But if I buy now, they have nice choices, and I don't feel guilty about getting a couple of nice bottles. If I left it to DH, he'd go to the local warehouse at the last minute and just add another bottle to the trolley of cheap wine for making mulled wine (we have a couple of small parties and I tend to make mulled for that).

I should do a Special Picture but I've just got in from work and need to cook dinner.

Now I can officially start looking in earnest Xmas Grin

Just need to hone the lists (I've started a Lakeland Limited List Xmas Grin )

We don't drink wine but my DH likes beer and whisky (not together, that's a Hangover From Hell Recipe)

Might need to start looking online and find some GOOD hiding spaces
