DD 13 hasn't no idea what she wants for Christmas, any ideas?

Money is really short this christmas (unemployed, savings used up), so I'm after ideas for Christmas gifts for dd aged 13. I'm trying to sell some stuff on eBay to finance them. Problem is dd has no idea what she wants. She doesn't really have hobbies, although enjoys reading and playing Minecraft and general computer use. She got a kindle from the family last year. She's not sporty, loves drawing, loves cats .. She already has plenty of make up and we have lots of board games. She has a wii, so I'll try and find a game for that.

I've been looking on freecycle, but there's nothing. I will look in charity shops and on eBay for suitable clothes.

Problem is we are a really small family, only one aunt and otherwise just grandparents, and they have little money, so she will have barely any presents.

Any ideas of fun things I could get her? I've tried searching on Amazon, but don't know what to look for.

Perfume?

Could you get her some posh looking or professional looking drawing pencils?

website called forever21 sell teen clothes at good prices. new look sale is always worth a look too. what about onesie and slipper boots? microwave hottie? girls night in kit with dvd popcorn fizzy pop? face mask? conditioning mask? if u have a home bargains or bnm nearby will get cheap things in there to go in it?

thats entertainment do second hand dvds and cds very cheap with free delivery. theyre all checked to be in working order. can get 5 for £5 on some. they may do wii games too so worth a look.

I got my girls a gift bag each last year with lots of lovely lotions and potions in and some nail varnish, earrings, etc. Used boots 3 for 2 and other deals. The creams were nothing fancy, just bits and bobs that they are starting to need that i would have got for them anyway, but all in one go instead - so face wipes, make up remover, hand creams, lip balm, cleanser, toner, moisturiser, body lotion, bath cream, etc.

Plus 3 for 2 on earring sets in Claire's. 3 for 2 on nail varnish.

They really loved it and both seemed very pleased with it, maybe because it's a bit more grown up to have proper sets of everything. But mine are slightly older (18 and 15 last year), maybe she's not quite at that stage yet?

Otherwise a nice satchel bag and a purse. You can get fox or owl or other ones off amazon or ebay for not much money.

Slipper boots and a microwaveable 'hottie' for cosy winter nights.

I'd probably try to pick her up a selection of books from charity shops - I know she has a kindle but real books are special I'd just go in every few days over the next month and pick up the odd few here and there to make up a little library.

Also rather than free cycle try your local Facebook buy, swap and sell page. They're usually quite good.

boots do soap and glory minis on theyre 3 for 2. these are lovely and girly you could get a few things for 5a. i got my niece a hand cream body spray and hand gel to keep in hr school bag.

Oh also I got those body sprays that teenage girls seem to love. A set of four or five, but I don't buy the gift sets as they are more expensive for less of it - I just buy the single ones.

The 'How to draw' books are great for budding artists, and are relatively cheap.

Only on mn would an £80 handbag be considered a budget present!

I'd head to Primark op, last year I got dniece a handbag and matching purse plus some costume jewellery for less than 10, plus they have lovely thick blankets to bulk up the pile as well as all sorts of little bits and novelty items.

I'd do a hamper op. Lidl had cellophane for 99p, a shoebox covered in Xmas paper, shred some coloured paper, pack it out with makeup/jewellery/art/foodie bits, whatever she would prefer, and cellophane up, add curling ribbon etc.

Oh I'd check boots 3 for 2 gift sets, soap n glory, 17, fearne etc and open them to make the hamper (if you went with that type of thing) add some bits from pound land the works maybe book people - there are always free book people delivery codes on the bargain thread.

Another thing you could do is pack up a movie night hamper. It could either be for her and you to share one evening, or for her to share with friends on a sleepover or late night.

Box wrapped in Christmas paper. Popcorn, favourite snacks, drinks, new DVDs, etc.

You could do several hampers ondifferent themes for the two of you to share, maybe? That way you are giving her the gift of time with you as well

Arty, non-sporty DD loves this letter stencil set. It seemed a bit pricey to me at around £10 but has been used over and over.

How about things that she might use anyway for art (canvas board, plaster of paris, table easel, bits of different paper and fabric) then at least you aren't paying twice?

Oh, and a Simon's Cat book, if she hasn't got them? Or Calvin and Hobbes, for larger-style cat.

How about a cineworld gift box? For twenty pounds you get a voucher for 2 tickets, drinks, snacks and popcorn for two people. Not bad for the price and it would make a nice night out in the future.

Nice idea, but because we have no cinema nearby they don't tend to go alone yet with friends, we go as a family. I will bear that in mind for the future though.
