DD 13 hasn't no idea what she wants for Christmas, any ideas?

Money is really short this christmas (unemployed, savings used up), so I'm after ideas for Christmas gifts for dd aged 13. I'm trying to sell some stuff on eBay to finance them. Problem is dd has no idea what she wants. She doesn't really have hobbies, although enjoys reading and playing Minecraft and general computer use. She got a kindle from the family last year. She's not sporty, loves drawing, loves cats .. She already has plenty of make up and we have lots of board games. She has a wii, so I'll try and find a game for that.

I've been looking on freecycle, but there's nothing. I will look in charity shops and on eBay for suitable clothes.

Problem is we are a really small family, only one aunt and otherwise just grandparents, and they have little money, so she will have barely any presents.

Any ideas of fun things I could get her? I've tried searching on Amazon, but don't know what to look for.

OP- Yes there is ;dd went mad with with her birthday money.

In the Zoella range there are two cosmetic/wash bags, bath fizz, bubble bath. Soap & body must.

She sounds very into similar things to my dd.

If you search for niceeshop or womdee in amazon it brings up 99p stuff like scarfs, necklaces, earrings and purses. I bought a bracelet and earring set for 57p recently!

Nice satchel £18.

Agree though that bits and bobs are popular with girls.

Thanks Smile

I've just found on our local FB page a pair of brand new purple hi-top converse in dds size for £15! She will be so pleased Smile Smile Smile

Oh I'm glad; isn't it lovely when you find a gift that you know they're going to love? Xmas Smile

Hi OP I know I'm a newbie (long time lurker) but your post made me want to sign up.

I've just had a massive clear out of my DS's stuff and he no longer plays with his Wii and I have a bag of games, do you think your DD might want any?

I'm not sure if you want to give your address to a random stranger, is there another way to send them so you don't have to?

These are the games I have -

Sports Island
Wii Sports Resort
Mario & Sonic Winter Olympic Games
Pokemon Battle Revolution
Rabbids Go Home
Big Beach Sports
Lego Indiana Jones 1 & 2
Lego Batman
Wii Play
Super Mario Bros
Lego Star Wars the complete Saga
Super Mario Galaxy
Carnival Funfair Games
Quite a few WWE and Fifa Games

For something a bit different what about a Raspberry Pi, you can get a basic one on Amazon for about £30, if she's into computing she may like this. Toying with the idea of getting dd one but she's only 10 so may be a bit young.

imalostcause · 29/11/2014 18:05

Thank you Smile I'll have a look at that, may be an idea for her next birthday.

You sound like a lovely mum Grin
For smellies, b&m have quite a few decent brand perfumes in (ck, vera Wang, Beyonce etc) also the Body Shop website have some good deals - every 13yo girl should experience the joys of a bottle of White Musk!

Thanks Mrssmith Smile I don't want her to be disappointed. Dh and I don't need gifts, I'd rather have a nice christmas meal and maybe a glass of wine if we can afford it, but dd shouldn't miss out on a great Christmas. For my 2 grown up children and also my parents and dhs mum I will print off photos and make a calendar for them and also some home made mince pies or fudge.

Thank you so much for all the advice and the very kind offers, everyone has been really really helpful. I was despairing, really didn't think I'd be able to get her something, I feel so much more positive about it now.

Imalostcause my dd loves Zoella too and you can get her beauty range from Superdrug.
She has a new book out too, which I have got dd also. Don't think it was too expensive on Amazon.

If you look up cat jewellery on Amazon there are lots of cute things:

Cat ring
Cat charm
Necklace

If you look up 'Wreck this Journal' there are lots of books along the same lines which could be really fun for a creative person.

These bags are really nice, they are very popular round here
