In our house the kids ask for a few things but know they might not get them all. Some of the things might be bought by other people - eg Ds has asked for fifa 15 but he will get it on his birthday (23rd) because we are away on Xmas day and he won't be able to play it....all other presents are given by whoever bought them iyswim.

The presents from Santa are stocking, usually something they really really want but not necessarily 'big' and sweets. Their santa presents this year are football cards for Ds and snow glow elsa for dd. They've also asked for lego , a purple matchbox car, a DVD and some hair bows!
